Very dirty! Paid 800 for a 3 night stay and the place was just a dump. The elevators don’t work, and if they do they are really slow. Customer service is good. But I just wish the maids actually cleaned not just made it smell like Clorox. Location is good, parking is good. Pool, very dirty, didn’t want to go in it. An example of how dirty it was, if you walk bear foot your feet turn black, if your baby crawls, expect a dirty black outfit after being on that floor. Very expensive for crap

We decided to go to VA Beach fairly last-minute, and Ocean Suites was one of the only places available(that should have been the first red flag). For $ 300 night after taxes, I was expecting A LOT more! Positives: 1) the hotel was in a great location — close to a lot of restaurants and stores 2) the view from the balcony was amazing. We were on the 8th floor and had a great ocean-front view. 3) The full-sized fridge and the microwave were great. Negatives: 1) our room had bugs. Not bed bugs, but crickets and cockroaches. We saw our first cockroach on our first night as we were checking in. The second morning, a cricket jumped out from under the bed(I found him later in my suitcase, ew.) The second night, a cockroach crawled into our bed during the night and ran across my fiancé’s face as he was sleeping(!!!) 2) the balcony door didn’t latch, lock or even close completely. Instead of investing money in fixing the door, the hotel staff screwed in a ratchety hook-and-eye that didn’t keep the door closed, but kept it somewhat secure. 3) the AC was broken for one of the three nights. Nothing fun about sleeping in a 81 degree room(with cockroaches) 4) the«clean» towels were full of someone else’s hair 5) one of the doors to a kitchen drawer was broken, rendering it unusable. 6) the staff was very unprofessional. When we checked in, the lady working at the front desk was cleaning the staff toilet(in plain view, as in, that’s the first thing we saw when we checked in — I know you have to clean, but keep the door closed, please). The maintenance staff yelled across us and other guests on several occasions and had no problems airing their frustrations with us about how broken-down the hotel was. There was a lot of yelling. And a lot of complaining. It’s fine to have those opinions, but I don’t feel it’s ever OK to share them in front of paying customers. 7) the elevator was unreliable: it was broken broken as much as it was working. When it worked, it was painfully slow. 8) there was a lot of mold(or some other unidentifiable substance) on the walls. The whole place had that«I’m afraid to touch everything» kind of feeling. 9) the place was much more run down that the website made it seem. DON’T stay here! Go to the Days Inn(just a block away) to stay bug-free and for less money!

When I first arrived, I really hated the place. and the reviews made me more reluctant to stay but we didnt have a choice because we booked about a week before coming. But the stay was wonderful. In fact, the housekeepers were so friendly and the place was very homey. It might not be a 5 star hotel, but it was comfortable nonetheless. The things I was most concerned about because of the reviews turned out to be perfectly fine. The water came out fine in the showers(I was on the 4th floor), there were no bedbugs on the beds, and definitely no stains. It was so comfortable that after a long day, I would come to my room and think«im finally home» rather than«im finally at my suite» like if I was at a hotel. I loved how I could wake up, go to the balcony, watch the ocean, then go downstairs and the boardwalk would be right there. At night, the street performances in front of the suite would remind you that you were in VA beach so why stay indoors? The only reason Im not giving 5 stars is because the bed was slightly uncomfortable and I couldnt really get a good night sleep. But that could just be me– Im incredibly sensitive to the slightest creaking sounds when im asleep. We stayed for 6 days and each day was relaxing and memorable at Virginia beach because of the excellent service at Ocean Suites. And most importantly, we’re really grateful that we got a place to stay at all after booking 1 week before our stay during the busiest season!

The only reason I didn’t give them 5 was because the shower took forever to drain, which is kinda understandable because of all the sand. I did not call the office to have them fix it either which I am sure they would have had no problem doing so. They took care of other things with no problem. It was a fantastic stay here, it was very soothing and was what we needed. We will definitely return when we come through VA again. The staff was fun, respectful, and attentive. The rooms were spacious and gave a home away from home– hotel style, feel. We were at home here, and the price was very reasonable.

Let’s start with the pros… it was«ONLY» $ 165 a night(for VA Beach? Ugh) and was in a primo location on the boardwalk. Also, the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, plates, bowls, utensils, etc. and we enjoyed a few home cooked meals. The Cons: The sofa bed was so jacked up that it was held up with zip ties. We ended up placing the mattress on the floor so that we could at least lay flat instead of having our backs contorted in the hole in the center. The room was never cleaned. They just picked up dirty towels, restocked fresh towels and toilet paper. The bed was never made, and the rooms stayed sandy. I can understand dirty dishes being left in the sink, but not making the bed and not vacuuming at the beach? Really? The window to the balcony was crazy hard to open and close. The music from the 24th street stage and beach street USA caused the sound of mass chaos coming from both sides of the room until 11PM both nights. The elevator was slower than molasses. The pool was always filled with sand, and the water was freezing. I don’t think we’ll ever stay here again.
