We are currently renovating our house and are staying temporary with parental units until it’s complete. In the spring we love riding our bikes to grab some food and a drink on Friday nights. Of course, I turned to Unilocal for near by establishments that are within a bike ride away. Immediately saw the LZ with thier outdoor patio and decided this was the place… Upon arrival, we parked our bikes along the fence outside and proceeded to the patio. Spoke with a few people while we were there and learned that the owner was an ex Marine Aviator and the reaturant’s theme was reflectant upon that. A lot of police officers and military frequent this bar… I was not particularly starving so I decided on guacmole + chips and the BF had a quesadilla + a few beers. I didn’t see margaritas on the menu but remembered the waitress saying that they could make just about anything. I ordered a silver tequila margarita, on the rocks with salt and a splash of strawberry. My favorite! When the waitress returned she brought back the margarita without the strawberry because the bartender insisted that his were the best and didn’t need Strawberry. Wowzer a bit arrogant don’t you think? We enjoy everything service and food. However when the check came it was a over $ 60.00. My margaritas were $ 15.00 piece! We are talking guacamole, 1 quesadilla, 3 beers, and 2 margaritas. Flabbergasted. To top it off the waitress told my BF thank you only, even though I paid and handed her the check. Overall nice atmosphere but a bit overpriced…

Went to brunch here this past Sunday after church. Great place. Very friendly staff, super clean, great décor. Food was really good and large portions. Looking forward to going back again for brunch as well as to try their lunch and dinner.

Review 200. So let’s get it on ! Stopped by this location by chance today. Great Casual experience, flavor of the food was wonderful. Burger and taste of the Cuban sandwich I had was spot on and excellent choice with either dish. The staff is friendly and I like the bar having an opening to the parking lot with out door seating. Seems like a great hang out spot and has a ton of regulars and was busy by 5 pm. Laid back atmosphere and good prices. We will be back !

I only gave a 5* rating based on the food and the ownership. Though if I would rate our overall experience it would be about a 2 due to the crowd that was present during our dinner. I understand that this is a bar restaurant but wasn’t expecting this type of «blue collar» «Larry the Cable guy» type of talk the entire time.

Happy sigh… what a fabulous little bar and restaurant! We went here one evening for drinks and such and let me tell you it was a refreshing delight! I agree with others this establishment will be around for a while and it should be. The food is simply delicious, freshly made and served with a smile! We enjoyed the atmosphere which is family oriented husband and wife owner’s. I tell you there aren’t many places like this where you can get great food, service and drinks. We will be going back. I mean who wouldn’t its a gem! If you haven’t tried this place please go and enjoy! Once there you’ll ask yourself why hadn’t you stopped before :)

Came here to catch up with an old friend and catch the TNF game. I randomly searched for good bars in the area and this place came up so we gave it a try and its AMAZING. Definitely a gem of the area. The food is great, service was outstanding, and the customers are regulars, but not creepers. The place is full of character and the bar tender is very experienced. Everything served from the bar is fresh(I saw a coconut mojito for the first time in my life lol). I ordered the empanadas and my friend ordered the steak quesadilla. Both were delicious(I finished his last quesadilla). Service was quick. LOCATION: The GPS tried to have me make a U-turn on Independence, but that’s not necessary. Just make a left at Edwin and it takes you straight there. I have already reserved this place for my moms surprise 50th!

The restaurant was really nice on the inside with a very calming atmosphere. The only thing that ruined it was the screams of the Cowboys fans, but the waiter was very respectful and supremely helpful. The empanadas were great! Light, soft, and full of flavor and our drinks were very refreshing. If you love Mojitos, they got 3 different flavors here. Overall a great experience.

What a wonderful and fun evening at The Landing Zone Wednesday evening laughing and dancing with the fabulous music of the live Latin American music. New friends who joined me for the first time where very impressed and are sure to return with even more new friends. The food was phenomenal prepared by Chef Edison with his team Marta and Carla. Come on down to The Landing Zone to make new acquaintances, enjoy fabulous food and drink from Tuesday through Sunday. Enjoy live Latin American music and entertainment every other Wednesday. You are in for a real treat and owners Angelina and Jeff will personally welcome you with open arms. The bartenders Tina, Meghan, Gloria and Tony will prepare your favorite beverage. The Sangria is always delightful! The Landing Zone is closed on Monday.

It’s was just okay. My daughter had the Mac and cheese and fruit cup. Easy mac probably would’ve tasted better. My BBQ ribs were pretty good but my mashed sweet potatoes tasted like they came from a box, I didn’t even know they sold them that way. My side salad was mediocre as well. Seems like a great spot for a drink. Staff was friendly and the location is great but food was not impressive.

My wife and I have been to the Landing Zone a few times over the past year and we have never had a bad experience, so naturally, we suggested TLZ as a perfect dinner location for a friend’s birthday this past weekend. Our party of 9 arrived at 7pm and we were seated in the empty restaurant immediately. The first thing I noticed was how nervous and awkward our waiter was. To his credit, he was very friendly and never took the smile/grin off of his face, but something was a miss… he just didn’t seem to «get it.» Long story short, the waiter forgot to put in dinner orders for 3 people at our table and their food came out long after everyone was done eating. The waiter apologized to the people that didn’t get their food, but he did so with a big smile on his face. Just found that to be odd… you can probably chalk it up to his nervous nature. Whatever. Also, he was terrible at refilling drinks and bringing out beverage orders. It got to the point where it was taking him 15 minutes to get a beer to the table. As for the food, I ordered the cuban burrito and it would have been a new favorite if it wasn’t for the crunchy/uncooked rice inside. The presentation couldn’t have been better though(see picture). My wife ordered a chicken enchilada meal that was amazing and we also tried the empanadas appetizer, and they were delicious. A couple people at the table ordered nachos and it was neat to see them served in giant mixing bowls. Additionally, our friends got fried plantains and they were a hit as well. If I hadn’t had positive experiences in the past, I would probably never go back to TLZ again, but I must say that the owner was very apologetic and accommodating. The folks that didn’t get their food were compensated very well in the form of desserts and gift certificates. The owner clearly cares about her restaurant and you have to respect and appreciate that.

I was here with my family tonight and we were pleasantly surprised. My older brother chose Longhorn for his birthday dinner, but the location at Landstown had a two hour wait for a party of 7, so we stayed in the parking lot and looked on Unilocal for another local place. We settled on two and called to see what the wait would be. This place had no wait so we headed this way. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly. We were sat promptly and reviewed the menu. Our server was very helpful and knowledgable, as well as upbeat. All of our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and had good presentation. It was DELICIOUS. I think it was actually better than any of us expected it to be. The restaurant’s ambiance was nice and it was very clean. I fully intend on coming back in the future. One note– I have seen several restaurants come and go at this location since I’ve lived in the area, and I think it is due to the annoying location. If you are headed toward Town Center on Holland, you have to make a U-turn in a high traffic area, and the inconvenience could be a deterrent.

Wow! This place was much much better than I had anticipated! As soon as my husband and I started to walk into the front patio, Angelina immediately got up and greeted us and showed us to our table. She is one of the friendliest people in the restaurant business I have met and we conversed for a while in Spanish. As we looked at the menu I ordered a margarita and a lemonade. My husband got a coke. My drinks were VERY good, sweet and not watered down, just the way I like them. The menu was a tad confusing as we weren’t sure if it was an American restaurant, an Italian restaurant or a Mexican restaurant. I asked Angelina and she said it is an American restaurant with a touch of Latino — which made total sense. For appetizers we ordered the Loaded Fries, the chicken Empanadas and the Guacamole with tortilla chips. The Loaded fries were so-so, but he Empanadas were truly fresh and delicious and you could tell the Guacamole was fresh and also very good. For our entrees my husband ordered the New York Strip Steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables. I ordered the Bronze Salmon which had a touch of Cajun spices — but not too spicy, which was good. And it was served on top of mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were ok. My salmon tasted and was cooked very well. And my husband’s steak was cooked exactly the way he had asked for. Everything was wonderful: the service, the environment, the food, the drinks, the prices and even the speediness. We will definitely be coming back and be bringing our Meetup group very soon :) See you soon, Angelina and Gloria! Hasta pronto!

Parking is never a problem. The place is nice, clean and roomy. The food has flavor and is not a grease fest. Love the wings and BBQ ribs are to die for.

The food was OK. I had the Cuban sandwich which had mustard, pickle ham, pork and cheese. The pork was hot, the ham was cold. The mustard ehh. My wife had the pasta Alfredo was was OK as well. I would say the shrimp was a little cold and the bread was not fresh. My son had the mushroom Swiss burger which was really good. Not to much salt, seasoning etc but it was not needed because it was well cooked and juicy. We also had the blackened tuna bites which was overcooked and most of them were dry but still tasted OK. Lastly the fried ice cream was OK. We have had better. Probably will not be going there again. The staff was friendly, place was clean and organized with about 6TV’s and a bar area with outside seating.

After reading the reviews I was eager to try this place as it is near by. I have enjoyed other Latin cuisine and was happy to find somewhere close. I order the Cubano burrito which was very lacking in taste. The best part of the burrito was the ham. It was very disappointing and bland. The other diner ordered a fried seafood medley with calamari fish and shrimp. The shrimp was good but the fish tasted like it had been frozen on the verge of being bad and quick thawed. It was really strong and fishy. The calamari was no better rubbery and strong fish taste. Really unappetizing and gross. The waitress also was unaware of the beers available and only listed a few. The menu which we finally received after waiting for five minutes after sitting listed a larger variety. The tuna bite appetizer was the only part of the meal worth paying for. It was fresh and well seasoned. The dipping sauce was a bit stranger but it was ok. All in all I shall not return and was very disappointed.

I’ve been there three times now, and it’s always great. Lots of memorabilia on the walls to look at, very nice waitstaff, and plenty of good beers. The Cuban and steak sandwiches were perfect. When you’re leaving and the traffic is heavy, you can go around back behind the shopping center and avoid the snarl. I’ve reserved a large table for a lunch party, and they are very accomodating to groups. Highly recommended for your next business lunch.

I liked this spot when it was the Pasta Bowl and I like this spot now that it’s the Landing Zone. The lay-out provides an area with high tops and bar seating with a high partition to separate the dining area. I like the colors and décor as well as the little metal figurines on the table displaying the table number. There is a view of a flat screen tv from every seat. The televisions were set to a sports channel and cnn, something for everyone I would think. The only thing nice about my house chardonnay was the price, $ 4.99 but my husbands sangria was delicious. It had a spice taste, like cloves. He ordered the mushroom/swiss burger with fries and I ordered the Cuban with mixed vegetables. The hit on his plate were the fries, hot and crunchy, the burger was also delicious. I’m not a connoisseur of Cuban sandwiches, this was my second but it was stacked mighty high with pork and ham with cheese and dill pickles. The veggies were fresh and crisp. Here’s the only real problem I have. The lists of sides include«rice of the day» and«beans of the day». When I asked our waitress for descriptions she said the rice is «just white rice» and the beans are«just black beans». On our way out I saw some beautiful yellow rice on someone’s plate… I wish I had know. I also heard the waitress return to a table after taking their order to let them know something they ordered wasn’t available. She should have known that before taking the order… just a pet peeve of mine. With tax: $ 37.88 not bad at all.
