Garters & Bloomers Old Time Photos

We stopped by after our wedding across the street for a formal and some fun wedding pics. They ladies working were very kind and helpful. We got some great pics and are very happy.

Ok… First I’ll inform you that I’ve been doing digital photography as a hobby for about 6 years. Yesterday my sweetheart surprises me with a gift trip to Virginia City. He offers to take me for a «Old Time Photo» together. So we set out to find a shop that will offer the digital images on CD to take home. The first of three shops we walk into was Garders and Bloomers. The first face that greets us is that of a young woman who is obviously tweeking on what is probably methamphetamines, with all the tell tale signs in her eyes and fine motor motions, and skin clarity or lack there of. I ask her if they give the option to burn the digital images to CD? She says, «no we do not do digital images and nobody in town does either.»
Whoa!!! The «little lie alert» went off in my head. So I said, «oh, ok, I’ll think about it.» We left, walked down the street a bit stopped in at another shop, it was really busy, so we left there, walked up the other direction to Silver Sadie’s Old Time Photos, her sign said «Open 12: ish to 5: ish» it was 12:10 a girl quietly walked up, unlocked the door, walked in and flipped the «Closed» sign to «Open». We gave it a few minutes and followed her in. On the wall was a modest price list and a big hand written sign that says «Take your photos home on CD $ 30».
I say «perfect!». She did a great job, quick, but took her time setting up our selected seen and staging us for the shoot.

Great staff! Attentive to detail! So many costumes to choose from! Many wonderful background settings to choose from. SO much fun!!! There are three different «Old Time» photo places in town. This one is definitely the best!

My family was here from Canada. We wanted a family picture to remember our time together. They were great at helping us with costumes for ages 2 – 70. The photographer was wonderfully patient to make sure there were several pictures that showed us all to the best effect. We were very happy with the results and purchased 2 pictures that were matted.

We were the first same sex couple to get married in Virginia City and the employees treated me and my new husband very nicely Thanks for making our wedding day special.

Great Western style old photo service that stays late, offer a better, less kookie selection of costumes and props.
