Chubby’s

Came to Chubby’s for lunch. I’ve been here a few times, and their chubby’s original burger is always so good, and so are the fries! They serve breakfast until two p.m. I would not say this place is spotless, but it is as clean as it gets. The décor is older, but I don’t mind. This is a place I would not want to look up on a health inspector report, but I have never gotten sick. Waitress seems unfriendly, but she is nice if you start a conversation with her. It is a smaller establishment but always busy. A local favorite!

Went to Bevmo and this place was right across the parking lot.
I had the cheese steak, and my wife had the tuna sandwich. She said it was one of the best she’d had.
The cheese steak was OK. A good, enjoyable sandwich, bet as cheese steaks go, it was mediocre. The fries were pretty good.
We’d eat there again.

Great service the burgers snd buns are on point! Texas chili omelette best I ever had!

Always a good breakfast at a good price. Served hot and a decent variety of choices. If you get a hamburger it will be served on one of their fresh made in house buns.

Fast and friendly service, not to mention delicious! I ordered the chubby hamburger and this bad boy comes with sourdough bread as the bun. The hamburger was Huge!!! Can’t wait to come back!

I’ve only been here once and it was a pretty good experience. The atmosphere is not the greatest, I can’t tell whether they’re trying to be a Ruby’s or a Denny’s.
As for food everything had a good flavor yet it also was a bit salty and we were thirsty the rest of the day. Also, one of the water glasses given to us had old food caked on the inside, thank goodness we checked before we drank out of it.
I would go back to try their malts and a burger maybe but its not my go to place if only because of the atmosphere and unclean glass.

The food is so good here and every time we go in we get great service and my family loves this place

Took a bite out of my burger n my buns were really cold n looked undercooked so I told the waitress n she took it n brought me back a new one with the same patty, they even took of the veggies! The service suked, lady was rude.
I would not recommend this place nor would I ever come again. They need better staff.

Looking for a good burger? Chubby’s definitely hit the spot! Meat was juicy, buns were big and produce was fresh. Fries were okay and probably would be even better if they had seasoning salt on them. Will definitely return!

The service is always pretty fast, the burgers are good with a fair variety, and the fries are good. Try the real ice cream milkshakes.

My boyfriend and I decided to venture out and try something new. And boy were we happy we did. Absolutely thee best burgers in town, hands down! The décor was perfect for a diner. The waitress was pleasant, she kept up on refills and clearing the table.
As for what we ordered. We started off with homemade onion rings, amaaazing! I had my first chili burger (Great Balls of Fire) with all the trimmings and hand peeled steak fries seasoned to perfection. The burger had crispy edges OMG yummm! It was the best burger I have ever eaten. My boyfriend had a cheeseburger topped with pastrami (The Mr. Chubby) with chili fries, he is beyond impressed. Did I mention they bake their own bread? YES! Fresh buns!
My first time and we will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this place.

Worst service ive ever had. Was not greeted when we walked in, coffee was cold and was not given any cream. When we asked for cream, they slammed it on the table like it was an inconvenience for them. We only ordered 2 coffes and one pepsi. When we asked for the bill, they charged us $ 9.00! We will NEVER go back. Still very upset with the attitude and the service at the Visalia Chubbys.

I wish I could take away the one star I had to put. I have been to all of the Chubby’s restaurants in Fresno and they are all good. But this Chubby’s in Visalia doesn’t live up to the Chubby’s name. I came in for breakfast and ordered the Chubby’s special. What a disappointment. The «grilled potatoes» were clearly cooked in a deep fryer, as were the sausage links. I couldn’t believe they actually cooked the sausage links in a deep fryer. The gravy on the biscuit was watered down and flavorless, and the over medium eggs I ordered were runny. I guess if the cook had shut his trap for even a second, as he was really busy chatting up the only waitress in the place, he could have spent more time actually cooking my breakfast. And I was only the customer in the place, that should have been a BIG red flag!

I haven’t been to Chubby’s in like a year but have been wanting to get back there for some time. today I pulled the trigger and am happy I did. when we got there the place was packed and had to actually wait for a table. never seen em this busy before! service was prompt and everyone was nice. drinks came out quick and so did the food considering how busy they were! the ultimate burger was awesome. super big but managed to eat the whole thing. I posted a pic of the thing that has mushrooms, bacon, cheese and about a half avocado in addition to the standard toppings of tomato, lettuce and onion. all on a bun that they baked. super thick bacon. this thing is sure to satisfy anyone who is not on any kind of diet!!! so get your ass down there and drop the $ 9.49 at a local business who is serving up massive portions for massive appetites.

As others have mentioned fresh baked buns. Made to order burgers. The BeBopper is hands down best burger in town. The onion rings are so good. My family has been going here since I was a kid and in 25 years I have never had a bad experience. Very rare for a restaurant. The fact that they are still around and busy when the entire strip small around them has been abandoned for years speaks volumes about the quality and service.

Delicious burgers and fries. Not sure about anything else. service is alright, could be better. small restaurant and your going to smell like food when you leave because the grill is right by you.

Great little diner tucked away in a shopping center that is slowly reviving itself. I can not get enough of their bacon cheeseburgers. They bake their buns fresh. They also have amazing ranch to dip their fries in.

Best burgers i have ever had anywhere, fresh baked buns, fries are ok but im not a steak fry person. Great ice tea and large togo cups for the road. We eat here about once a month.

This is a great little diner. Seriously under-​rated/​under-​appreciated in Visalia. Maybe because it’s buried in a near-​dead strip mall on Mooney? Either way, it’s a great place with casual and yummy comfort food. The burgers are the best and I believe it’s because of what the other reviewers mention — the fresh baked buns. It makes all the difference in the world.
Prices are reasonable, food is filling and fresh, the waitstaff and cooks are all friendly and fast. It’s worth a stop if your looking for a good diner-​style meal.

For Visalia, seriously, this is as good as it gets.
So really, do you need a review for something that’s five stars? NOPE. Check my pics, they’re worth a thousand words.
I will add though, that they bake their own bread fresh, daily. So you know the buns come proper on the burgers, and day old bread croutons on the salad :)
