I hadn’t been here since years ago when it was a different restaurant. The Asian-​Mexican fusion cuisine looked really good and the chips were served hot with a delicious salsa full of jalapeño chunks, very delicious!
I ordered 2 grilled shrimp tacos and 1 fried fish taco with rice and beans and it was totally delicious. The fried fish taco was the true hit of my lunch, a 10 for sure. Great personal service too!
I’m coming back for sure and making this place a regular lunch spot.

This was a perfect place to drop buy for lunch and and grab some fish tacos, I really like how they are centrally located. The fish tacos are excellent, large tacos with a really good sauce, also reasonably priced and friendly service.

Been to montes express several times, can’t wait to go again. New owner is super friendly and food is fantastic. Everything I’ve tried so far (esp fish tacos) superb.

Very good all 3 times I have went. Fish tacos are great, only $ 2 on Tuesday. Had the chili relleno the other day and it was great too. Feel bad for the guy that found a roach in his food, it appears clean to me. Maybe the present owners were not there then as it is under new ownership.

New owner is amazing and very friendly. Food is outstanding. And sometimes there is live music which is fun!

so decided to give them a try. They don’t have an online menu so looked on Unilocal,saw the shrimp burrito and called that in. When I went to pick up saw a Mexican mama and Asian mama cooking in the kitchen. Kind of excited about that because I’m all about Asian Mexican fusion (it created me!). So burrito was pretty disappointing more like an xtra large rice and bean burrito. It’s was pretty flavorful but I was hoping for an amazing shrimp burrito with pico de gallo, cabbage, not lots of rice and beans and a few shrimp. The biggest bummer was no chile or salsa. Kind of defeats the purpose of Mexican food. Anywho wasn’t impressed and probably won’t be back. La Mejor is right down the street… sorry

DONT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! We went there and they gave us some chips and there were deep fried roaches on the chips that was the most disgusting thin ever!!! I don’t care if they were giving out tacos!!! The should be shut down!!!

Visited this little joint today. Fish tacos were great, and now they have phở and ka soy, which I’m looking forward to. Staff is friendly and attentive, prices are great, so be sure to stop by!

The best fish tacos in town. Lunch can get busy so i recommend calling in ahead.

Their breakfast burritos leave nothing to be desired… they have everything in them you could possibly want: potatoes, cheese, beans, rice (if you want it), eggs, and choice of meat (s). They are huge, they are cheap, and they are the bomb. Also, they have taco days where they have super cheap tacos in your choice of chicken, asada, or pork, and they’re all delicious. This place is just a small hole in the wall, but you should definitely give them a try. Oh, and ask for extra hot sauce on the side for your tacos and burritos because it’s addicting.

New owners have made a big difference. Had given up on the place a year ago but just stopped in for a fish taco. Darn good. They are on special Tuesday and Thursday. The salsa was chunky and flavorful I’ll be back to try some other stuff. By the way… came back and tried a carne burrito… very tough and stringy meat with little flavor. Came back one more time to try the fish and chips… go over to Brewbakers instead. The fish here tasted of dirty grease. Floor was dirty and tables had not been cleared. Young staff just stood around… teenagers with no manager in sight. Nice owner, but over her head.

This place has the best fish tacos in town and on Thursdays they are only $ 2. The corn tortillas are freshly made and the sauce is delicious. We get ours to go at least once a week.

Excellent fish tacos, they are beer battered and made with homemade corn tortillas. On Tuesdays and Thursdays they offer these fish tacos for only $ 2 a piece. A dive that’s worth a drop in.

It’s been a year or two since I had dined at Montes. I had tried most of their menu and was not impressed. However, recently a couple of my friends were raving about the food there; so I had to check it out for my self. I come to find out that it is under new ownership! I tried the usual, carne asada tacos which is a great deal! $ 0.75 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays! Can’t beat that! What hooked me was their fish tacos, and the Govanador taco! lets just say they make their tortillas fresh there, right when you order it. The fish is a generous size fillet, beer battered and fried, garnished with red/​white cabbage and chipotle sauce. The fresh tortilla makes all the difference!
I’ve tried fish tacos at numerous places around town, and out of town… but like I said, the tortilla makes the experience so much better!

I’ll be back to try more of their signature plates!
