This place was excellent! We were on vacation and looking for a place for dinner and saw good reviews on Unilocal. The food was delicious and reasonably priced! The owner was very friendly and so funny. Highly recommend it!

Fast & friendly. Food is very good & reasonably price. BUT! I feel that their food and flavor is inconsient everytime i come in. The food i order everytime tastes different from the last time i order it. maybe they have different chefs making the food each time or something? Idk. Kinda weird. but overall a hidden gem

I was drawn to this Sy-Salathai for it’s high rating, but left the restaurant baffled as to what is all the hype. The restaurant is situated in an older part of Visalia and has adapted their menu to local taste. That being said, the menu was full of Asian type stir-frys and didn’t specialize in just Thai food. We opted for a chicken veggie stir-fry and pad thai. The food tasted two-star okay. No other dine-in customers came in that night, except for locals grabbing the pre-packaged fried chicken and sticky rice. The zealous waiter, and probably owner, was a little much for our mood that night, but I can see he could be entertaining if the mood is right. This was one of the rare ocassions I felt misdirected by Unilocal

This place is a small location and the prices for the food and drinks definitely match up to what you get. The only down side to this place is that, the wait time for the food can take awhile. This is only because they prioritize those who order take out versus those eating in.

Hands down Best Thai Place In Town, Authentically Prepared, Very distinct flavor and when I say that I mean it as in you can actually taste what you’re eating! Not overly powered with the spices, not salty at all and if you ask for spice they will give it to you! The owners sat us and greeted us, they are the complete opposite of intimidating, very warm family oriented people! We will be back!

This place is great, it’s a little slice of Thailand, even had Thai fights on the TV. The food tastes just like the food we ate in Thailand, not Americanized. Very reasonably priced, large portions, and the gentleman that took care of us was very friendly. Defiantly adding this place to places we frequent.

The best curry I ever had… Highly recommended. It’s family own so you will wait longer than usual.

COMEHERE. Such a gem hidden away in the less bustling area of Visalia. Like other reviewers, I came here after a long day in Kings Canyon only because it was open late, but this place is astoundingly authentic. I’ve actually been to Thailand this past summer, and compared to the street food there, this restaurant has one of the best pad thai I’ve ever tried period; needless to say, when you narrow the competition to California, this restaurant is one of the best you’ll eat at. Portion sizes are hefty especially for the prices, so you definitely get your money’s worth. The flavor though? Absolute love. Different take on phở with seasoning I couldn’t put my finger on, flavor-packed pad thai, crisp spring rolls, and a savory sticky rice and mango dessert that was not too heavy and not too sweet but just right. The owners are the sweetest, and since we came back a second time to get some portions to-go on the way back to LA, they actually recognized us. Gave us a little extra side of mango sticky rice since they knew I loved it so much last time. If I lived closer, I would come here all the time. Hands down my fave Thai food place to date.

WOW! My siblings & I came out to a small town called Visalia since my sister had an interview. After her interview, we were hungry & searched for places to eat. Our original choice, my brother in law wasn’t up for it so we found this place & decided to give it a try. I AMSOGLADWEDID! Place wasn’t crowded & parking was easy to find. The owner was the one serving us! She was very friendly & helpful. A lot of the food we wanted to order, they ran out of & were waiting for the shipment. We ended up ordering: –Crab Rangoon– MUSTGET! Freshly made! Not overly oily, crunch is bomb! –Spring rolls– my tastebuds were in HEAVEN! Especially with the dipping sauce! Not your typical peanut sauce. Omg. I wanted to just eat this all! –Pad Thai– there was spiciness to it that even my 2yr old nephew couldn’t stop eating it! Super flavorful too! –Beef Panaag– what is this deliciousness?! I cried because it tasted so good! I love curry but this dish made me love it even more! There was also a spiciness to it that I LOVED! –Chicken combo fried rice– I wasn’t too excited to try this because it’s rice, lol. But I’m glad I have it a shot because it was so amazing!(I’m starting to drool as I write this review.) –Curry stir fry– definitely an interesting concept! Not my favorite of the dishes, but I still loved it!!! I’m excited to come back & try all the other food! Not only is the food on point… The service was extraordinary! My siblings aren’t as social as I am, but they were making conversation with the owner! It was all around great vibes! If you want top of the line service with top of the line food… COMEHERE!!!

I ordered papaya salad at their previous Sala Thai express hut and they served me very old papaya. The papaya was almost rotten. Not to mention the food was horrible as well. Looks like this is the first and last time I order anything from this place.

Hands down, my favorite Thai restaurant. Family run, and the mom makes the BEST phad thai I have ever had! Be patient, because great food isn’t fast. My family has been following this family for 15 years, through 4 different locations. Yes, the current location is in the«oval»(not the prettiest part of town), but the food is well worth stepping outside of the comfort zone. Try it!

Was hopeful given the reviews and pictures as well as previous hole-in-the wall experiences. Got a variety of dishes to see how the food was. First of all, they said 30 minutes — 1 hour later, we finally got our order. Sticky rice and papaya smelled good. The sticky rice was the only thing I liked. Papaya salad was sweet and spicy like everything else — this place really likes the sweet chili sauce! Chicken larb looked watery and NOT at all like usual larb, more like a mix between larb, lemongrass chicken, and asian-style tilapia; we asked for no onion but they included onion anyway. Chicken satay, spring rolls, and stuffed chicken wings were supposed to come with«creamy peanut sauce» but they didn’t; all came with the sweet chili sauce instead and it was actually poured all over the satay and stuffed chicken wings — yeck! When asked about the peanut sauce, they said the items didn’t come with it but when I insisted, they looked at their own menu and said oh yeah. Then they said they ran out. But when I expressed disappointment, they said if we waited, they could make more — I don’t know about you, but being out is out not being out cus we’re too lazy to make the food like the menu describes. THEIRFOODISN’T WHATTHEMENUDESCRIBES(see previous comments re peanut sauce vs sweet chili sauce AND filling for spring roll and stuffed chicken wings are not as described). To top it off, someone stepped outside and stated smoking right at the door! Suffice to say, I’m very likey not coming back. What a disappointment.

This is hands down the best Thai food I have ever had. I have had Thai food in LA, Bay Area, Fresno, etc. The flavors were excellent. Personal service from the owner with attention to detail with much pride. Other Visalia Thai restaurants are good, but are not at this calibur. This is so authentic. The owner has been in Visalia since 1992 and has a great story. I don’t get«wowed» too often, but this had me at the first bite.

What a wonderful find! Very small out-of-the-way place, but makes up for it in the food and service! Incredible meals bursting with flavor! Sweet awesome people that own the place and go out of their way to be sure that you are happy and don’t need anything! Went twice today, and will go back!

After crooked road of Sequoia Park, we didn’t expect much. We chose this restaurant just because they’re open late.(Most of other restaurants in this area close by 8 pm.) What a big surprise! If you could look pass the deco(or lack of), this place is a gem. We were greeted by a mother-daughter team. Very sweet ladies! We ordered glass noodle salad, tum yum chicken, spicy mint leaves with chicken, and stir fried vegetables. Each dish was full of flavor. The vegetables were so fresh and crisp. Price was reasonable. Big portions. Nicely done! We’ll definitely come back here when we’re in town again.

Best Thai and Vietnamese food ever! I go here at least once a week, very good portions and I haven’t been disappointed once when trying a new menu item. Very very friendly people. They also have the best sticky rice I have ever had.

Love love love the food here. I used to go to the walk up window when it was across the street. They have a nice little place, with beer and boba drinks! I ordered the khao poon(my favorite) and egg rolls. Plus, the owners are so nice and funny! Definitely going to keep coming back. :)
