I went last Thursday night to buy a Christmas present. The store was busy so I waited in the checkout line to get assistance. The women who helped me was great in helping me choose between items. I went today and got my haircut. I liked the online scheduling and I really love my haircut.

Okay, so this Ulta is better than the one in Hanford, but not by much. Today was a promotion day, which means it is going to be quite busy. Apparently only 2 people knew how to run the registers because nobody else was willing/able to jump on one for customer service. Whereas this store is better about asking you if you need help, the fail. User ably when it is time to check out. Not sure if I will be back. Overall the service at Ulta has been slipping for the last 12 months in all of their locations so I may just take my business elsewhere.

Great products, place seems clean. However, every Ulta I’ve ever been in, including this one, has horrible customer service. My second visit into this location, I was ignored by the staff the entire time I was there. I ran back and forth between the NYX aisle and the designer makeup several times trying to find a color I was looking for, and not once did anyone bother to help me, so I left without purchasing anything. I was not greeted upon arrival either. The first visit wasn’t a whole lot different. There was one lady that was nice and helped us with some hair products, but only after we asked her.

Love their sales but really bad customer service. The entire time the cashier was ringing up my purchases she was talking to another employee in her head set. At first I thought she was talking to me but she pointed at her head set. Very unprofessional!

I walked in and didn’t even get greeted and there was three employees in the front counter. I walked by two employees out on the floor and not one of them asked if I was finding everything ok. It’s not a very welcoming place to shop in. Employees tend to forget that it’s because of customers that they have a job!

While I was at Ulta in Visalia, Ca. I was the next customer in line. When the cashier got done helping lady in front of me. I walked up towards the cash register she told me one sec she answered the phone. So i stayed looking at nail polish on clearance. The other cashier finished with her customer while the other lady was still on the phone. Said she could help the next in line. There was only one line so i went. The lady behind went at the same time. I informed her I was not in line. The lady apologize we were both embarassed because she thought i was waiting for the cashier on the phone. The cashier Assistance Manager(Grace or Gracie i think not exactly sure) didn’t apologize to me about the mix up or let her know i was next in line so i wouldn’t have had to tell her i was. It was extremely embarassing. To make it worst while i am still being helped she tell her to wait. Finishes up my return. I go back to shopping. I overhear her apologing to her like I had did somethin wrong and give her a free gift. I was so humiliated. I have been shopping frequently at Ulta to earn my points. But i will be returning back to Sephora to earn my beauty points over there. Because never in my life i have i experienced something so rude and humiliating. It really y took the pleasure that I get from beauty store out of my shopping experiences. I wish this wouldn’t happend as i loved store. I hope your company can use my experience as a teaching tool improve customer service which is number in the beauty industry because no one«needs» beauty we want it. I just really hope it was not the beautiful color of my skin or that I am younger than the other customer?

I am writing this review as I stand in line here. I will start by saying I don’t like being ignored when I walk into a store especially a place like ulta, and especially when you greet other customers upon entering. Not sure if it’s a race thing? I sure hope not and I hate to be that person. I am dressed professionally and am a customer just like anyone else! None of the associates acknowledged me or offered to help. There are sooooo many products in here! I am now completely a Sephora customer for life. No matter which city Ulta is in I get the same crappy service. The line is super long and there is one cashier, I guess today is a «sit your stuff down and just walk out» kind of a day. Goodbye ulta.

Vivian is SUPER friendly and helpful AND knowledgeable. I had been in one of their sister stores, and the girl there gave me totally bogus info and said that I could not use a coupon that I had presented, but Vivian accepted my coupon w/a smile and no hassle. This store is super clean, and all of their products are in order. I have been I other Ulta’s and the make up has been broken, misplaced etc but not here. They have a lot of products to choose from, and for every budget. You can go in and buy an eyebrow palette for $ 30 and then pick up some Revlon for $ 5, they have something for everybody. They offer a reward/point system. If you reach $ 100 they give you $ 3.50 off your purchase and they also have bonus point days so that you can accumulate faster. They also let you take your $ 3.50 discount and use it w/a coupon, most places dont let you double dib like that. I bought a product that was $ 20 and walked out only paying like $ 14. They are located in a nice shopping center, Packwood Creek, with a Target, Picture People, Tilly’s, Chipotle, Starbucks, Frozen Yogurt, BBQ and many other things #flagproof

As a makeup and haircare hoarder, I missed my Ulta when I moved to the Deep Valley. I was super psyched to hear they were opening one in Visalia, but was weary because staff in chain stores can range from wonderful to shotable. This store is a shiny example that all other Ulta stores should model themselves after when it comes to staff. For my forth visit I came in looking for a Paul Mitchell’s Hot Off the Press but couldn’t find it on the shelf. I asked a staff member and they asked their manager if they had it in the back and when they couldn’t find it they called the Hanford store, which wasn’t answering. They called back and had the same result. Initially I was bummed and it showed, so the staff members brainstormed where I might locate this product. I was impressed by the professionalism and honesty towards the situation. Even though they didn’t have the product, they didn’t want me to leave the store unhappy. I found the product at a location suggested a dollar cheaper, but I was so bowled over by the quality of service I will go to Ulta first because they know how to treat customers. This is also the tidiest Ulta location I’ve been to. I know it’s fairly new, but the Hanford location was labeled as «ratchet» by both me and my teenage shopping companion, with lots of misplaced items and dust balls rolling and lots of out of stock items missinf. I love how well stocked the Visalia location is most of the time, even more popular items are available for purchase. The higher end makeup’s testers didn’t look nasty. I also loved how the cashier didn’t fumble over my in store coupons. I hope that this store maintains this caliber of quality. I will be returning to this store and putting the word out to all of my gorgeous home girls.

This was my first visit to the Visalia location, I have been a regular at the Hanford location since it opened around a year ago. The store is quite large and has hair salon services, a dermatology area, high end make up(such as Urban Decay, Bare Minerals, etc), as well as drug store brands like Revlon and Cover Girl. I really like that I can find both high end and reasonably priced make up in the same place :-) As for the customer service aspect, I had a great experience today! All three employees that I interacted with smiled freely, were friendly, and helpful. My last tip is to make sure that you sign up for their mailer and for their rewards program. Each is free. The mailer always comes with a $ 3 off coupon for any purchase of $ 10 or more. Which is a really great deal! And tells you whats on sale and when. As for the rewards program, it earns you extra little freebies here and there. I’m willing to bet that if you give Ulta a try, it just might become your«go to» make up store :-)
