This place was great! The customer service was amazing! The hostess on the phone greeted me in the proper polite manner. Very helpful. As I entered, they greeted pleasantly and right on target. The ambiance is great and probably the best in Waco. Sam, my server was beyond fantastic! You could tell that he enjoyed what he was doing! He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and was always available. His recommendations were great! He even had the chef to prepare me an item not on the menu that I just wanted to go along with my steak. I’ll be be back!!!

Outstanding service. Outstanding food. Great wine menu. Quiet and intimate environment. About the closest thing Waco has to a fine dining experience. It’s expensive, but you are getting what you’re paying for.

Went here for a meet and greet with my corporate folks. Service was great. Food was awesome! I didn’t pay the tab, but I’m sure it is the price tag of a diamondbacks.(MUCHBETTER than Diamondbacks too). Business casual, but I saw people in khaki shorts and Jeans… they were wearing collar shirts though. Better atmosphere than Diamondbacks. I’d go again, for sure.

My husband and I have been here twice. Really, because I love sea bass and I haven’t found anyplace else that has it on the menu in Waco, yet. The first time the reduction on the citrus sea bass was over reduced, so I scraped it off and it was good. Love the risotto it comes on too. There are 2 sea bass choices and I’ve had the Citrus Chilean Sea Bass both times. The second time I went it was absolutely perfect. Reduction was tasty and not overwhelming for the lightness of the fish. We both got Caesar salads and it tastes like a Caesar salad should. Hubby got steak the first time and said it was good, but felt it’s just as good other places and this last time he had Shrimp and Chicken Carbonara. He said it was cooked well, but the flavor was not worth the $ 25 price. They serve bread at the table before the meal. Our server did an excellent job and the inside is pretty and feels intimate. It is a more formal place, but my husband went in dress shorts and no one kicked him out :). I do love the sea bass so much that I’ll be back and have hope that my husband will try something he loves as much too. I’ll make him get the salmon next time!

The ambiance on this place was different than I imagined(it’s a nice restaurant, but it’s in a shopping strip mall – weird). The food, however, was everything it was advertised to be. The House Salad was fantastic, as was the Gorgonzola steak. They have an extensive list of wines and other drinks, as well as a pretty great appetizer menu. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about wines and steaks, friendly, and attentive. All in all, a very nice dining experience with delicious food.

My son and daughter-in-law had a small intimate wedding reception and everything was perfect. The table setting all the way through to the service was top rating. Glenn the chef came out personally and met with our table and greeted us all and assisted with the cutting of the wedding cake. The steak melted in my mouth and was cooked to perfection. This special day was made more special by the ambiance and good food we had at 135 Prime.

Passing through Waco and had this place recommended by a friend. What a gem! I had the 8oz filet and it was really amazing. You get your choice of «steak sauce» but with any good steak, no sauce is needed. Other in our party got the sea bass and steak gorgonzola and were equally pleased about the portion size and taste. It seems like a lot of the reviews on here mention that the wait staff is too concerned with themselves, we did not have that same experience. Our waiter Sam was always around, checking in on us and being attentive to our needs. The dress code says«dressy», and that’s probably the right answer, however we saw everyone from suits, to business casual, to a polo and jeans.

Tony had everything down to a «T» with his service. My parents took me here for my birthday and from start to finish everything was excellent. We started out with the étude Pinot noir wine which is always fantastic, and had the escargot for the appetizer which was superb. Three of the four of us decided to get the special which involved a 4 course meal. It started with an appetizer of the quail wrapped bacon with a flavorful sauce, salad with peaches and almonds, the best rack of lamb I have had in my life, and topped off the meal with a chocolate cake that was a mix between bread pudding and cake. Besides the special, my girlfriend ordered the Chilean sea bass which was light yet very flavorful over a bed of rice. Overall, this was one of the BEST dinners I have had in a long time. I live in Dallas and this is a Dallas quality restaurant. I will be here again, and you are missing out if you don’t try this place at least once in your life. You will be sorry if you don’t.

This is my first review on Unilocal. So it should say something… I travel for work as an Executive VP in health care and have eaten in prime steakhouses across the country… I have eaten at this establishment five times. The service was in question each time; if not for clients I would not have been back. The head bartender Sam is juvenile in his interaction with customers. And the head chef is completely in alignment with him… If you happen to interact with anybody at the bar that they know or have«eyes for» It will affect your service. God forbid you interact with any females for business that they have eyes for or your service will suck!!! I experienced this firsthand and I will never go back! The food is average…(Diamondbacks on the north side of Waco is much better.) But the way they handle their clients in a high in upscale restaurant sad pathetic and lacking professionalism!!! For the money go to another high-end steak place. The way this organization is operated is amateur and not professional. if the management even reads these reviews, there may be some change. But the reality is that’s probably not happening. If you are traveling and coming from anywhere outside of Waco you will be severely disappointed! The people on this fine town are really nice! But this establishment; with the bartender Sam and the head chef preying on and claiming their female clientele is a sickening!!! Poor service!!! Average food doesn’t outweigh the fact that this is amateur hour at its best! Don’t go here! I will go north to another establishment and not waste my time or money here!!! Ever!

I loved my experience here! I had jumbo scallops and the medallions as an appetizer and it was beautiful. Dinner went well and the dessert was just cheesecake which wasn’t super special to me, but everything else was absolutely wonderful! Very happy

I think this is, by far, the best fine dining restaurant in the area. Tonight I had the steak and seafood combo. The filet was a perfect Pittsburg and the seafood skewer was not overcooked, which can be a challenge. There was a smoked prime rib special which Thomas, our server was kind enough to show us before my husband ordered it. My husband’s prime rib was phenomenal. Thomas was a fantastic server and we had a great time chatting with him throughout our meal. All in all, a wonderful experience.

Plenty of dining experience here before. Great food, great service. Went to pick up 135 plus tip in cuisine for a buddy in the hospital. Asked if there was silverware in the bags…“we don’t have any, the hospital probably has some”. Ummm… seriously? Not first class in my opinion. Beware of shotty takeout. Can’t throw in plasticware? Really???

Nice ambiance. Far too pricey for the level of quality and quantity that arrives at your table. When I can easily outperform in my own kitchen the offerings of an upscale restaurant I will simply save my cash.

Great dinner tonight at 135 Prime. They offer A decent wine selection, surprising amount of seafood options, and house made desserts. My husband and I enjoyed everything we ordered, and will be back soon. The only pause we had was the«risotto» that came on the plate more closely resembled very flavorful rice… I’m used to risotto being Arborio rice cooked to a creamy texture. Still tasty, just not what the description lead me to expect.

As good as it gets for Waco fine dining. Appetizers are rather large and good for sharing. Steaks are well prepared and unlike most steakhouses, come with a salad and a complimentary steak sauce, although a good steak speaks for itself. The food is consistent and the service is excellent. Really not much to complain about here, although prices are rather steep for Waco standards. That being said, good food should come at a price. Eat here and you won’t be disappointed!

In a town that has very few fine dining opportunities, 135 stands out as a dependable choice for a pleasant evening. The service at 135 can range from professional to «try hard.» There are a couple of older pros that know all the ins and outs of the menu and the wine list. Even if you don’t catch one of these, the others are usually well trained and can answer basic questions about the menu. The selections are expensive by Waco standards and make 135 more of a special occasion restaurant than an every week hangout. They advertise their steaks to be prime beef and price them to match. Starting at $ 37 up to $ 60. The Rib Eye($ 39) I was served was actually a thinner cut club or rib steak that included the eye portion along with the surrounding meat. It probably weighed more than the advertised 12 ounces but the way it was cut made medium rare a near impossibility. It was well seasoned but didn’t really have the mineral flavor you get with a prime steak. This could have been due to the aging. The appetizers and salads are the best values here. The House salad is a favorite. Good service at the bar. Many customers will eat and drink in that area during happy hour. A nice wine list with several decent value. Desserts are very average.
