I travel regularly from DFW to the Austin area and if I get hungry I try to stop here. The food is pretty good, not absolutely-spectacular-OMG-to-die-for fantastic, but I haven’t been terribly disappointed either. The service has been great so far and it’s open 24⁄7.

Much better option across the street, don’t do it. Came to try something new, did not enjoy bland queso, soggy tacos, and clueless employees. The first queso I ordered came out terribly wrong and instead of offering to give me a new one for the mistake I had to pay for another. Also when I informed the employee about how my taco fell apart I was given the option to pay more for another.

This place is bomb! I had a shrimp taco, baja? Idk, the third one on the list and it was phenomenal! ! It was filled with shrimp, unlike most restaurants where they only put in 4 or 5… but anyways, the flavors were great! Coffee, mmmmm, the coffee tasted great with the food. Definitely not burnt beans… did I mention this place is open 24⁄7 and has a DRIVETHRU! !! YUP, totally making an 1hr drive to come back… nom Nom nom

If you like torchys you’ll love Fuego!!! It’s never been a let down and my favorite taco to get is so presidente. It’s a flour tortilla, chicken, pico, deep fried avocados, and a slice of bacon. P. S. Don’t forget the queso!!!

Was very excited to try this place! Open late. Was the only customer in there at 8pm, took 30 minutes to make 2 steak tacos. They were extremely greasy and way over priced. Queso was very sub par. Won’t be back

Place was fire. I enjoyed my steak taco very much. The manager on duty was very catering to our needs and alcohol induced decisions. It was pretty heavy so I was very worried about the morning after and the inevitable battle with the toilet. Morning came, no such battle took place. All was good in the world. God Bless. When I’m back in Waco, I’ll definitely come back.

Very good… Lots of options on the menu as service is fast and the soda is amazing, they have the carbonation perfect! The only downside is how freaking expensive it is… For me and my husband to both have 2 tacos and a drink each is $ 30

Not a great option for gluten-free people. I think the food is simply not very good– I got one taco without the tortilla and it was not very much food and lacked flavor(unlike Torchy’s!). The atmosphere is very lacking– it resembles more of a dorm cafeteria than a restaurant– the lighting is poor and the service was not very good the time we went. After standing at the cash register for probably 2 minutes after someone had said«i’ll be right back!», another employee said, «have you been helped?» to which I said«no» and then he took my order, which seemed to be inconvenient for him. Hate to give a bad review, but we will 100% not be back because of the food, service, and atmosphere.

Once upon a time an American cuisine fell in love with a Mexican Cocina, together they conceived«Fuego» in Waco, Texas. Fully equipped with an addictive taco selection bursting with flavors and a plethora of influences scattered throughout planet earth. Nearly insulting to be categorized under«Tex-Mex» but rather more of a «Global-Mex» due to the broad selection of fresh ingredients and extravagant combinations. Definitely recommended to anyone with half a taste bud driving through the Waco area.

I have to come here and have their tacos and tortilla soup every time I visit Waco. Tonight my boyfriend and I had dinner here and it was great as usual. We tried their quest to start off and were really happy with it. It isn’t your«Ted’s/ Chelino’s/ Chuy’s» queso. That’s the best part about it. It has a much thicker consistency, but for all the right reasons. Tonight we had a small disagreement with the service, but Katy the designated cashier, was prompt to make up for everything. I Definitely check this place out!

A lot of people I know really hyped this place up. I had heard that the queso was the best stuff they’d ever had. But I gotta be honest. I just really wasn’t that impressed. And maybe that was my fault because I had really high expectations after hearing about it so much. But I just, ya, I wasn’t that impressed. The Good — If you like a unique taco, this is where to go, they’ve got a lot of fun options and different types of meat options. And they serve breakfast all day. The price on these isn’t too bad either, ranging from $ 3 – 6 bucks a taco, I personally was full after eating one but ordered 2 cause I wasn’t aware of the size. They’re giant tacos and crispy chips. The bathrooms are also clean and the salsa bar was kept clean as well. The Bad — The service was just mediocre, one girl was really really sweet. Everyone else, seemed super annoyed with my friend and I, or couldn’t even crack a smile at us. That was disappointing. I also, personally, felt like there was way way way too much going on in my taco. The flavors didn’t mix too well and there was too many flavors going on in my mouth that I couldn’t figure out what was going on. They also serve Pepsi products, and I’m a diet coke girl myself. I had the Dr. Pepper Cowboy and the El Presidente. The Fried Avocado, just makes you feel like you are eating something really fried, all I could really taste was the oil. My friend got the Juan Wayne and said it was okay and then the Fuego Steak and loved that one. So maybe it’s a hit and miss. I’m not sure I’d come back here. Maybe if there wasn’t a torchy’s near by.

Meh. The service was super fast, the chips were delightfully thin and crispy, and the salsa and marinated cucumbers were delish, but the tacos weren’t nearly as impressive as their menu descriptions. I tried the fish taco and the fish fillet was huge(refer to the photo I posted), and had perfectly, crispy breading, but the tortilla was cold and the whole thing just lacked on flavor. The BF had the ½ kilo of steak al carbon and it was kind of yucky. It was greasy and bland and didn’t seem like much food for the price. I think there is potential here, because the service was great and the interior is nice, but if what we tried is indicitive of their other menu choices, then they need to tweak their seasonings.

Great fresh food! Little confused how to order for a first timer. My 7yo daughter and husband love it as well. You will not find a 24 hour restaurant that taste that great. Love the atmosphere. Very clean.

The manager(don’t know his name and honestly not 100% sure he even is a manager but that’s what I’m guessing) is AMAZING. Great customer service! One night my friend and I waited a bit for our tacos and when we finally got them, we were so hungry we practically inhaled them. The manager noticed how quickly we ate them and then gave us free queso because we were obviously very hungry and had to wait a while. Never seen a restaurant manager be so awesome. Also the food in general is just awesome. Pretty much a regular here and that’s not going to change anytime soon.

Great chicken fajitas! My dad picked up a big family order to-go, and the meal was large, delicious and consisted of all the fixins for fajitas. Definitely recommend!

This new location is great! We arrived shortly before the lunch rush of church-goers, and boy did it get busy fast. You have to sit yourself down at a table unless there is wait. Then you can only sit yourself after ordering. My family of five each ordered a taco for prices ranging between $ 2-$ 6 and an order of chips and guacamole. The beauty of fuego tortilla grill is how much you get within each big flour or corn tortilla. All the ingredients inside are literally spilling out. There is also a mini sauce bar on the side of the restaurant for you to take different sauces to top on your taco. One downside is that once it gets busy, I guess the kitchen staff begins to rush a little too much and the quality of the taco begins to drift downward. I ordered a steak and egg taco and when it came to my table it was only a steak taco. I don’t know how you can completely miss the egg since it was a breakfast taco but I guess mistakes can happen. Literally, 30 seconds after I asked the food runner to fix this problem, I got my complete steak and egg taco back. The scrambled egg was cooked very well and tasted buttery which complimented the more salty steak. In my opinion, Fuego is better than Torchys. Not necessarily in taste, but definitely in price and portion size.

Dang. I’ve had a lot of tacos in my life. Since I’m from Austin, I have the pleasure of having a plethora of choices everywhere I turn, but it was a trip to Waco that brought Fuego to my attention. I love corn tortillas, and these were AWESOME. The tacos were big and stuffed with just really yummy things ranging from grilled fish to Dr. Pepper BBQ… Definitely give it a try!

I’ve eaten at one of these before but since this is the newer location closer to my home I decided to try it out. We got breakfast burritos. The steak and egg, egg and potato, and bacon and egg, let’s just say they tasted so gross that I couldn’t even finish them. The egg was so weird it had butter or some off over whelming taste in it and the steak was too chunky and no seasoning at all and the tortilla was drenched in some liquid and was breaking. I think they cooked the steak in a pan and then dumped everything even the grease from the steak onto the tortilla. They don’t offer salsa or anything with your meal either. So if you don’t have salsa at the house to drown out the bad taste then you’re out of luck. Tried this place again on 10−25−15big mistake. Got the el presidente and asked for salsa they always tell you to pull around the building and they have you wait forever for your food and this is the 2nd time that I’ve gotten home and they’ve forgotten the salsa anyways when I ordered they said they were out of regular chicken so they had to use rotisserie chicken and the taco it’s self is about $ 5 alone when I got home to eat it my first bite had the longest blonde hair in it and it totally ruined the whole thing for me. I ended up throwing it away. What a waste!

Really good. I had the vaquero taco for breakfast and it was amazing. The place is busy and is smaller than the Hewitt location. Not a complaint but just a fact. They are really fast, i didn’t wait more than 10minutes for my order. The bar with goodies is great. So you can add more good stuff to your tacos. For the quality i think the prices are just right. Definitely will come back.
