Best hamburger in Waco. We have eaten here a few times and always enjoyed it. Live music on the weekends is fun. Always save a few fries to feed the catfish!

This was our first time here at The Slippery Minnow and our experience was wonderful. Friendly, helpful staff. Great tasting, homestyle fresh food. Margarita was the best we’ve tasted in a while. The environment was relaxing, while maintaining an upbeat friendly atmosphere. The beach décor and being lakeside is sure to bring nostalgia to anyone. If you are looking for a breezy getaway on the lake with great homestyle food, look no further. *We also had somebody ending up paying for our entire meal, which completely made my family’s night. When we return, we will be sure to do the same for another.

we went here to meet another couple as it was lake front and had live music. The seating was a free for all… if a table cleared you had to run and try and get it before the guy next to you…(I’d rather pay another dollar a meal to pay for a hostess to have some order to the seating arrangements) All orders are placed in one line at one counter(even if you just wanted another beer you had to wait in a 15 minute line) We ordered at 7:30pm and were given a buzzer. We ordered Hummus & chips and two shrimp baskets. Or friends ordered pepper poppers and 2 burgers. Their buzzer went off about 15min later and they retrieved their poppers. 45 minutes later my husband went to check on our order(no hummus or anything) was told about 10 more minutes… so as soon as he sat down our buzzer went off the chips and hummus were fine… bagged chips and store bought hummus with no flavor/paprika/oil…just dry. The shrimp was warm and fries you could tell sat for a bit. another 20 minutes the couple with us went to check on their food(2 burgers… no fries) were told another 10 minutes so they waited another 15 minutes and their buzzer goes off. The buns seemed like they may have been microwaved or sat for a while wrapped in wrapper. It’s such a shame they service sucked so bad cause it has potential to be a cute place…

Was not impressed. The girls who took my order were rude. I asked what kind of crab was in the crab cakes but they didn’t know. One of the girls went to ask and came back and told me it was made with hermit crabs. Seriously? I didn’t order the crab cakes but went with an over priced hamburger. We had three people in our party and the bill was over $ 41. We all had hamburgers. It seemed the big seller was a bucket of beer. Not a family friendly place at all. There are old patio tables with plastic lawn chairs and a few picnic tables. Go somewhere else!!!

Waco’s best kept secret! Perfect venue for water side dining on a restaurant boat in Lake Waco! This place is really casual, laid back with a beachy/lake vibe to it. The food is a little on the pricey side, no wait staff so you order at the counter and pick it up at the window. Live music on the weekends, they have restrooms and showers avaible for use if you’re coming off of a boat. This is my new home for Sunday Funday, it is a little tricky to find but the journey is half the trip! Enjoy!

This and last weekend stopped in for A hamburger and A order of cheese sticks. They didn’t set there light call device one visit and the next visit, with only 20 – 30 people it took an hour to get your food. I understand it’s the only game on the lake, but service is service and you need to appreciate your customers. I hope airport marina open a bar soon.

Fun little place to get a laid back pub menu and cold beer. A floating dock with live music, a walk-up to order your food and picnic tables and patio tables on the two level deck. We were in from out of town and just wanted something easy and different and we definitely found it.

This is a hidden gem! It is located on the marina on Lake Waco with seating mainly outdoors on the dock. Absolutely beautiful view. We came in at 8:30pm and sat outside until the sun went down. Perfect breezy evening. We had a Philly cheesesteak and an appetizer of chips and queso. Being a native Philadelphian, this is the closest I’ve had to a true Philly cheesesteak away from home. We will definitely be back. I would like to experience their live band nights.

One of Waco’s best known secrets. If you are looking for a change of scenery and want a relaxed outdoor experience, go to the minnow. Order a cold beverage and the best chicken sandwich in Waco and enjoy the live music and the sights and sounds of Lake Waco.

Visited the Slippery Minnow on late Saturday afternoon with my wife. It is essentially a floating platform at the Marina that serves as the local restaurant/bar. This is my first visit to the marina since the big flood a few years ago. I was quite impressed with the improvements to the area and this new little spot to get a bite to eat and have a cold beer. They have live music scheduled outside on the deck on weekend nights(I wasn’t there long enough to check that out). My wife and I both ordered catfish baskets and Shiner Bocks to wash them down. The basket came with two large fillets nicely fried without being oily. French fires were good. The cole slaw was dry and bland and the hush puppies were little sticks. The quality of the catfish made up for the poor sides. I gave it 4 stars rather than 3 since I would return again.
