The food was simple but well executed. We sat outside on what was a very pleasant day and enjoyed the ambiance. Would recommend if you are in the area, and if you are vegan or vegetarian there are more that simple salads here for you. Not to say the salads are great, there’s just more than just salads.

We stumbled upon The Provender by chance and it was the highlight of our day. The menu is carefully made with the freshest ingredients that are perfectly paired with the right spices and original recipes that yield a wonderful meal. We both had salads. Mine was a twist on a waldorf salad that was made with watermelon and a blueberry vinaigrette dressing. I would make the drive simply to have that salad. Thank you for a great meal!

These people make authentic French bread. Their double espresso and red velvet cookie were wonderful. As is their strawberry preserve. I hope to have lunch there soon.

Best food in Waco. Hands down. The food is fantastic and the service is amazing. The staff always takes time to find out what you like and what you don’t like and will happily tailor your meal to your preferences and dietary needs. The menu is also seasonal and rotates based on what’s fresh and locally available.

Another deli dependent on Chef Marco Wave. Seemed like every food item was nuked to perfection. I don’t understand why you would use organic and supposedly local ingredients only to then microwave them. The food didn’t look appetizing just soggy or stale as is the norm with most radiation cooked meals. The pretzels were dried out and had that characteristic taste of being left in a cardboard box overnight. The turkey meatball sub smelled of old cheese and tasted of salt that’s it just salt, whether it was edible is still in question. The kitchen was a chaotic mess with food scattered about. The extra star is for the owner who seemed like a nice enough chap but who really has no business feeding people.

Very delicious, great variety with something to please everyone. You need to just check it out. You won’t be disappointed. Waco, and perhaps all of Texas, has nothing else like this charming foodie heaven that expands past any soundbite definition one could offer. We enjoyed a strong french press, German pretzels as good as any in Bavaria, falafel that reminded me of a journey to the middle east, meats cured in house, specialty sodas and a bakery case full of tempting sweets, that we were too full too try this time. We’ll be back. Hope to see you there.

Overpriced food, arrogant proprietor who blatantly misrepresents where he gets his ingredients from… Need I say more?

I love so many things about The Provender Store. I’ve enjoyed so many dishes that it would be hard to name. Craig, is not only a great proprietor but he puts so much love in to the preparation of his food. We have some of the most enlightening conversations. He’s taught me a bunch about food and wine. I’d highly recommend you stop by and give it a try.

This place was amazing. I had the Rueben, and it was delicious. So saucy(that Russian dressing was ahhhhh) and warm. The perfect comfort food. And the tomato soup was rich and made with organic local tomatoes and basil. All in all, a great place!

The owner of this deli strives to use organic and locally grown products. Sandwiches, salads, quiches, desserts and more. I think the interior could use an uplift, it’s a little dark and drab. But, the food is excellent. Recommend you give them a try.

I love this place for its fresh bread and sandwiches. This is now one of my favorite lunch spots. The ingredients are all fresh and high quality. It’s one of the only places to get real baguette in Waco, and it’s delicious. I’m looking forward to trying some of their sweeter concoctions in the future. For those on a budget, it won’t be a daily lunch spot, as the products aren’t cheap. But it’s definitely worth checking out, as this place is raising the culinary bar in Waco. Overall, a fantastic addition to downtown Waco along Austin Ave. Highly recommended.

I heard such great things about this shop/café and finally tried it last week. What a treat to have this quality of food here in Waco. I had a vegetable salad that was delish and fresh baguette to boot. My husband had the pastrami sandwich which was an amazing explosion of flavors– homemade rye bread(but yummy rye– not tart, almost sweet), a cabbage slaw, and the pastrami was amazing. It was hard to narrow down our choices as the menu offered so many enticing options. I really appreciated the thoughtfulness that went into the ingredients(locally sourced) and the creativity with the different dishes. Seating is limited so it might be better to plan on getting carry-out. But if you do stay, the owner is delightful!
