I like the variety of tacos that they have here. Although it’s definitely tex-mex they are still pretty great. I’d have to venture the menu to pick out a fave but I haven’t had one that I didn’t like yet! Oh and if you like soda they had a lot of different kinds not the regular coke or Pepsi deal.

Nice find. I had the free chile taco and trailer park taco. Delicious! The queso was good too. It had cilantro and shredded cheese on top.

This was my first Torchy’s experience, and the only thing that I’m not understanding is how this place only has a 4-star aggregate rating. Perhaps some who have been to other locations slightly prefer those? All I know is that this place was SUPER hyped up to me by friends, and all it did was live up to every bit of it. It didn’t matter which tacos we tried — Democrat, Republican, Baja shrimp, trailer park(trashy), fried avocado, etc — they were all outstanding — spicy, fresh, and bursting with flavor. Also, an order of the chips and queso is an absolute MUST. This place is worth driving out of your way for … I know I will rarely step foot in Texas again without trying to find one!

Always one of my first stops when I get to Texas. The tacos are so damn good, but the Mexican street corn is what I CRAVE. It’s perfect. And grab one of those peanut butter brownies and throw it in your bag for later, too. It’s hard to make a bad choice at Torchy’s.

My wife and I were in Waco to visit Magnolia Market and this was where we had our first dinner after a long day of driving. OMG, I will dream about this place for a long time. She had a «trashy» Trailer Park and I had the Green Chile Pork tacos. Probably the best Tex-Mex we’ve ever had. The queso dip is absolutely to die for. We ended up eating here two days later for lunch and found it to be equally amazing. Service is fantastic and the place is clean and inviting. We will hunt down a Torchy’s the next time we’re within a couple of hundred miles of a location! Absolutely the best!

Man the tacos here are nothing to play with. You really only need to order like one taco! You can do two, but you gonna feel it! They make Quality Tacos! Meaning they do not short change you anytime! I’ve been here a few times and each time they make any taco you order perfectly! Its a fully loaded taco and its so good! Their breakfast tacos are off the chain, and they also have a secret taco menu. They have a great Sunday brunch menu! This place is also great for big groups! Food comes out hot and fresh every time!!!

Picture a poor black male teen with depression and thoughts of suicide with only 10 $ in his pocket, walks into Torchys with a frown on his face but as soon as the cashier spoke a smile grew from cheek to cheek. Torchys tacos is not just a restaurant it’s the love of my life. I’ve searched for years trying to find a taco as tangy yet so succulent as the ones served at Torchys. I thank God everyday that he has brought me this gift. In my relationship with Torchys I have found nothing but happiness:) I LOVEYOUTORCHYS! Torchys is the only thing keeping me alive, I live taco to taco I plan on marrying Torchys August 3rd2016 at their Waco location next to Baylor. Torchys has saved my life if it weren’t for their tacos I would have been somewhere dead. Jk it’s aight I’ve only been there once lol.

In Waco, we found the best tacos ever made at Torchy’s tacos. Freshly made street tacos are the rage here. Its fast casual, order at the counter and they bring them to your table. They have a selection of different taco specialties, and sides. This is a great place for gluten free foods, they can make all their tacos with corn tortillas. I ordered the Brush Fire and three Tailor Park tacos, absolutely the best tacos I’ve ever tasted. My wife had gluten free of the Independent and the fried Avocado. We shared the street corn. This is a chain and I tend to avoid chains but, i was so glad we tried this.

After visiting Torchy’s multiple times during our trip to Austin, I feel like I want to leave my nursing career and open a Torchy’s in Chicago. It’s that good. These tacos are amazing. It’s fast casual/order at the counter, but you would think you walked right into Texas’s #1 gourmet Mexican restaurant by the way these babies taste. I had the green chile pork, the democrat, and the chicken fajita tacos during our trip to Texas and they were all incredible. The queso? LIFECHANGINGPEOPLE! I’m not a huge spicy fan so I asked for the spicy queso sauce on the side and it was just as amazing without it. It even looked like they had happy hour deals for margaritas at some of the locations. So good I’ll be dreaming about it until the next time I can get back there.

Usually when I go to Waco I leave again fairly quickly to get back to Austin, and then this last time I realized there was a Torchy’s right by where I was going. I love Torchy’s in Austin and San Antonio, so I went and stood in the lengthy lunch line to get an Independent, some street corn, and an iced tea. The line took a while because I had hit the lunch rush, but it was worth it. My server was good about my allergy issues and gluten is very easy to avoid here. My food arrived quickly and was perfect, the environment was mellow, and now I have a spot to grab food in when I come to Waco. Yay Torchy’s!

Mr. Orange is great. Very good salsa and chips. Service is very slow most of time. Sometimes times the wait is too long. So it only gets 4 stars.

Coming from CA, this was my first experience with Tex-Mex, and Torchy’s did not disappoint! I tried the Crossroads(Smoked Brisket), South Pole(Leg of Lamb), and Brushfire(Jamaican Jerk Chicken). They were all excellent! This place has a well-thought-out menu with a variety of good-looking options. They also have an impressive tequila selection and look like a good place to come for happy hour.

Nice to find some Austin flavor in Waco. Try the Monk for breakfast or the Trailer Park for lunch.

It’s Texas, they love all sorts of tacos. This mini-chain has 4 – 5 locations in Texas. They have a creative menu of tacos. Lots of beef, fried chicken and pork options. I recommend the trailer park. It’s my go-to. Not all their tacos are to my liking, but once you try a few you will find something you really like. 3 tacos are more than enough to fill you up. The lines can be long during peak times, but it’s worth the wait!

Maybe it’s because I’m not from Texas and I haven’t had a full on Tex-Mex experience, but these are seriously some of the best tacos. My friends schooled me on their secret menu and I ordered the Missionary Style Pork taco — carnitas, pickled onions, guacamole, creamy chipotle sauce on s crispy corn tortilla inside of a regular corn tortilla. So many flavors and textures — so good! One was plenty filling. We also got some green chile queso to share, and that too was pretty amazing. Cheesy goodness mixed with some guac and hot sauce. Definitely a satisfying meal.

Love Torchy’s. I feel like if you’re eating at Torchy’s you have been a time or two. So reviews on the food aren’t really necessary! This review is specifically for the location. The customer service was awesome! We weren’t able to catch her name but the black women at the counter was so good to us! My first timer boyfriend was very happy with the food and the service. Very happy with our experience with this location and as always the food was fabulous!

Everyone who reviewed Fuego went on and on about how it’s a less good Torchy’s. After trying both, I have to say Fuego is 10 times better. The tacos at Torchy’s were pretty flavourless and not very exciting. I had the [forget the names, but…] jerk chicken one and the brisket one. The queso I had was decent, but it’s queso… so I’m not going to go back just to get it. They were out of The Democrat when I went, which I found ironic that everyone in Central Texas was ordering that one.

I’m in Waco for work and needed something quick and protein-y. Torchy’s Taco, a favorite Austin chain that’s expanding to the corners of Texas, fit the bill admirably. This was my first time using the online ordering system. It was easy to select the tacos I wanted, and I was impressed that I could select a bowl option instead of a corn or flour tortilla for one of the tacos the site had recommended to me, so I decided to check it out. For that taco’s temperature, I’m deducting one star, but otherwise everything was perfect. Perhaps because it came in a bowl instead of wrapped with other hot compatriots, the meat was colder than I expected — I guess maybe in Austin there’s always a crowd and so the queue for online orders is more robust, which is why my orders are all warm when I show up. Whatever. It was still tasty. The interactive feature on the website was way fun and deserves its own post. The site first asks you to name your protein: beef, chicken, veggies, etc. and each option has a totally cute design to go with it. I first selected fish, then that I was in for some heat but not blow-my-mind spice, and finally, that rather than feeling adventurous or classic, I was feeling hipster. Mr. Pink, the tuna taco, was recommended, and the interactive feature showed the cute designs on each card, all in a row, to recap. So adorable and fun, Torchy’s! It makes me glad I’m in town through Friday. Other notable mentions: there seems to be table service here and the servers are very friendly when retrieving patrons baskets and bringing out food. Also the refried black beans are flavorful, salty, creamy, and like a full pint of food for under two bucks. I wish I’d known about these BEANSOFVALUE sooner. Well done, Torchy’s Tacos. I love you, not only because you are delicious, but also because you keep surprising me.

Torchy’s Tacos has been in my radar almost as soon as Austin beckoned me to come visit. So imagine how disheartened I was that it was not one of the numerous restaurants we dined at when we were in town. No worries, the daughter was in desperate need of milkshakes whilst we were passing by Waco. A quick check of Unilocal showed that there was a Sonic not even 2 miles from where we were. As Sonic is usually a drive from our home and I know that their milkshakes always delivers, a quick detour was in order. And guess what is magically across from Sonic? Torchy’s Tacos! I put my mommy foot down and told the daughter that lunch should be had first before milkshakes. As mentioned, I have not been to a Torchy’s before so I have no point of comparison. I was quite impressed by the food! We ordered the queso(addicted now and must try to replicate soon) and a variety of tacos: trailer trash extra trashy, green chile pulled pork, Republican, Democrat, and hipster(from their secret menu). Everything was quite tasty with every bite simply a delight. The service was friendly and fast. We ordered two tacos for each person, but quite frankly I think one each would have been enough as they are not on the small side. Still, their tacos are well worth stretching my stomach for. I am so happy that we chanced upon this Torchy’s, and I really wish we had a Torchy’s in SF.
