Pricey, but if you’re lucky like us, you get great service! I’m kicking myself for not writing down our servers name — it’s hawaiian and means ‘warm and caring’. She made the experience! We all fell in love with the Pimm’s Rangoon drink. Refreshing and delish. We were so glad the server told us she didn’t like Gin and loved all the gin drinks on the menu. She said they were a must consider! We shared the lobster grilled cheese, waffle fries and summer roll. Like another review said, I felt the lobster grilled cheese was more bready but good nonetheless. The waffle fries… to die for. The summer roll refreshing! We’ll be back next February for the service and another round of Pimm’s Rangoon!

Bumbye Beach Bar is located adjacent to the infinity pool at Andaz. My 5* rating is purely based on the experience and not on the food or drinks. In my opinion, visiting the Bumbye Beach Bar is the best way to take advantage of the best of what Andaz has to offer(the infinity pools) for those on a limited budget or for those who don’t want to spend upwards of 600 – 700 $ a night at the hotel. You can valet your car, go right to the pool chairs, and a server from Bumbye Beach Bar will come up to you to take your order. The drinks are pretty expensive…$ 16/cocktail, smoothies are $ 8, and food items span a range from $ 10-$ 30. You don’t have to order much. When I was a hotel guest, I ordered 1 smoothie. Add in a valet tip of $ 3-$ 5 and you’ll be able to enjoy the pool for ~$ 15 at a minimum. If too many people start doing this, I can imagine Andaz cracking down but in the meantime, this is probably the best and cheapest way to experience the Andaz pool without paying a lot of $ out of your pocket. Look at the pictures to see if you think ~$ 15-$ 20 is worth the experience. You be the judge.

When we were at the lower pool, Caroline was a nice server. Friendly, efficient, helpful. When we closed out and moved to a table up by the bar, no one came to be a waiter/waitress. Caroline happened to be there, so asked if she could wait on us, & she did. Nice view from the top tier. Ordered the«legendary» $ 21 lobster grilled cheese sandwich. It was very good, but did not live up to the hype. Sizeable, but the bread to contents ratio was off. Too much bread, smothered the flavor. Waffle fries good too. Overall, a pleasant visit.

Quickly became our favorite food option at the Andaz. Staff was super friendly and knowledgable about the offerings. Go big and get the loaded waffle fries they are insanely good. I wouldn’t order the ahi poke again. Beautiful presentation and quality fish but there was a lot of rice which I felt made this poke too warm.

The food for a pool bar exceeded my expectations. Drinks were just OK in my opinion. All the portions are large and my husband and I shared our meals most days. Just ask them to split it for two and they will bring out two separate trays. The chicken Katsu sandwhich and waffle fries was the best. The lobster grilled cheese was ok. I’m not a lobster lover but someone who is may enjoy it! Can’t go wrong lounging by the pool and eating from this place

This was the one disappointment as far as food for our stay at the Andaz. The first night we got in we had a basic sandwich type meal with salad and it was okay. The trouble is, if you spend a lot of time around the pool, you’re sort of stuck eating there and paying the high prices for pretty mediocre food. Second meal there I had the lobster Mac and cheese, and it was all bread and very little filling. Waffle fries tasted greasy. Third meal we tried the cheeseburgers with macaroni salad. Not sure if the meat in the burgers was old or not, but we both ended up with indigestion plus my husband had other issues. I don’t know how you avoid eating at this place when you stay at the Andaz, but use it only for drinks as much as possible.

Staying at the Andaz, we ate here almost everyday for lunch during our 1 week stay in Maui. The food was great! Memorables include the crispy chicken katsu sandwich — a huge portion of chicken katsu with kochujang mayo on a taro roll — and somen noodle salad — delicious fried spicy tofu on bed of noodles, mango, and vegetables with a sweet sesame dressing. Removed one star since it took a long time for the food to come out.

Bumbye Beach Bar was the sore spot in an otherwise amazing stay at the Andaz. I waited a few minutes at the bar for service and left when the waiter wouldn’t stop chatting with another customer who he was done serving. Later, I had Alan K. stop by to pick me up a piña colada to drink by the pool. The bartender bragged about the superior quality of their drinks and said they serve them over ice rather than blending them to avoid them being watered down. The result was the most watered down drink I’ve ever had, which tasted like an extremely sour pineapple margarita. I’m not sure if it had coconut milk in it at all, and only about a third of it was drinkable before it was too watered down to finish. A pool bar in a tropical location should be able to make a solid piña colada.

We hit up Bumbye Beach Bar at Andaz prior to dinner reservations at Ka’Ana kitchen. I was a bit disappointed when half of our party wanted reservations for 7:45 for dinner — this is after Maui’s sunset! Because of this, I wanted drinks with sunset views, and they obliged. We decided to hit up the bar at Andaz and were not disappointed. We ordered a bottle of bubbles(Rose, I believe) and some appetizers. We had an awesome couch area to sit on while enjoying our drinks and conversation. I highly recommend this option for drinks before Ka’Ana or one of the other restaurants. If you are lucky enough to stay at Andaz for your trip, check this out every night for sunset views, it won’t disappoint!

Staying at the Andaz we had to try the Bumbye Beach Bar, the lobster mac and cheese had rave reviews. We thought it was ok BUT… The dishes that really had the WOW factor was the pork belly tacos, The ahi poke and the pulled pork waffle fries… YUM! Our bartender(Brooke) was so friendly & on top of everything, she made me my new favorite cocktail a Pimm’s Rangoon and we so… enjoyed relaxing at the bar watching the amazing ocean swells, feeling the cool breeze and spotting whales in the distance .Does it get any better than that?

Ok, YUM! This place just adds to the overall awesomeness that is the Andaz. We were staying at the Andaz for a business event I had in Maui and I met my husband and daughter for lunch each day here at the Bumbye Beach Bar. Love that my daughter could swim to her hearts content while we waited for lunch to be served in a cabana. First day I tried the Shrimp salad and it was good but I was too busy drooling over my husbands poke to really enjoy it fully. Day 2 and on… there was 1 clear choice. POKE!!! My daughter loved the chicken lollipops and their ginger cookie, coconut ice cream sandwich was pure bliss!

This was the best poolside bar I’ve experienced while on vacation, anywhere. The staff was extremely friendly. Special shout-out to Leilua, Travis, Larry and Brooke. This crew was fantastic! They are very knowledgeable regarding the drinks and the different types of alcohol. I basically got a history lesson about Tequila from Travis. Leilua gave great recommendations and was just such a friendly face to see out at the bar. It was obvious that they had great relationships with locals as well. There were clearly«regulars» that came to the bar just to visit with the bartenders. One man brought his adorable yellow lab to the bar and she is considered the bar mascot by the team. They just had great personalities and were a lot of fun. The drinks were spectacular! My favorite was the Bejing Peach while my husband enjoyed the Fizz. The Coconut Wired was also delicious! And of course, the Mai Tai is a Maui staple. Note: the bartenders can make the same drinks down at the Bumbye beach bar as well as up at Lounge bar up at the top pool. The food was fantastic! Lobster Grilled Cheese and the Pork Belly Tacos were my favorites of the week. The Pork fries and summer rolls were also delicious! They also do have a few salads and a lighter vegetarian platter if you don’t want all the fried foods. The larger entrees were the perfect size to split between two people. The Fries were just amazing. The entire staff seems to work really well together. Service is very prompt and the staff is extremely helpful. They all seemed to really enjoy their jobs. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area and a must if you’re staying at the Andaz. Thank you to the entire staff for taking care of us during the week!

Friendly ppl and prompt service. For lunch at the pool we ordered the lobster grilled cheese and katsu sandwich(must get). Damn it was good! Beware of the lurking birds at the pool waiting to poach your leftovers. p. s. Their Mac salad isn’t «Hawaiian»

We get there to find that the only way to park is valet. This bar is part of the Andaz hotel. Given the great reviews, we thought why not. We made our way though the lobby to the bar which is at the lowest pool level to find it closed at 5:30 pm on a Saturday! When we asked why, we were told«because no one showed up!» What?! We were directed to the other bar(Lehua Lounge) at the poolside which turned out to be just another overpriced poolside bar experience. This is a lovely setting with a fabulous ocean view. Other than the attentive service, expect exorbitant prices for mediocre drinks. That was very disappointing.

Absolutely as good as it gets. Had an absolute blast here talking with and getting to know the staff. My wife was here for work so I tagged along for 5 nights. I spent most of the time at the Bumbye Bar, the pool, and the beach(in that order). The staff at the bar were friendly and amusing and I enjoyed all of them including Sy, Travis, «Miller Time», and Yanna, to name a few. The drinks were excellent but I have to say that the food was almost better? I had the Pork Fries 3 days in a row(forget your diet) and then ended the trip with the Poke. Fantastic! I got to watch the Niner game and eat and drink there while my wife was working. Couldn’t ask for much more. On our last night, my wife was finally off the clock and we were looking for a place to eat but also a place where we didn’t have to drive. It was great hearing all the suggestions from the staff. We ended up going with Travis’ suggestion of Ko. He set the whole thing up for us, made the reservation, and put us in his friend’s section and that was outstanding as well! I’ll review that separately. Yes, we would go back and yes I think I would just spend most of my time at the Bumbye Bar!

The views are stunning. Look over the 3 infinity pools and walk down– all the way down– to the bar(on the right with cool couches). My son had eel/avocado sushi which he loved. My husband and I had martinis. Pls try the lillikoi martini– delicious. The staff, from the valets to the bartenders were extremely helpful and friendly. You know they are top notch when they ignore the fact that you still have sand on your legs and feet, and their only goal is to make you comfortable. If you show up in between 5 – 5:30pm, watch the chefs go out to the lawn for their tribal chant! It is their time to connect and decompress, just as Chef Morimoto would encourage. Thank you Andaz! We will be back!

In my opinion, the most friendly(and most attractive) bartenders in the string of resort beach bars in the Wailea area. Plus the guys here can make a mean cocktail… Like the coconut wired, which was originally a virgin cocktail, but just get it with rum to make it «wired.» I also had their chopped salad, which was kale, mac nuts, avocado and radish. The healthiness of the kale totally canceled out the cocktail calories right?! (If your not in the mood to keep your beach body, try their waffle fries with kalua pork, cheddar cheese, guacamole and ranch. You won’t be able to move for the rest of the day, but they looked really good!)
