McDonald’s

Reviewing spots that I visited on my Maui trip back in February: as a Canadian with no roaming data plan, McDonald’s was a life saver! The wifi around Wailuku at the time I visited was not great, so McDonald’s was key in contacting my friends and fam back home. As a foreigner the food was something else. Rice, eggs, spam, and Portuguese sausage for breakfast… at a McDonald’s? Taro pies were also pretty cool! The cultural adaptation is awesome. Good spot to dip your feet into the local scene because it will definitely show you how similar yet different it is.

Just what you would expect from a McDonald’s. The food was fast, inexpensive, and they got our order right. The employees were polite. And I would definitely recommend it to grab a quick bite of their local breakfast, spam and eggs or Portuguese sausage and eggs

Well this mcdonald’s usually gets my order right so that’s always good. Tried the Mozzarella Sticks for the first time… they’re pretty good… but make sure you eat them hot.

Horrible. They never get your order right or they forget to give you something you did order. How hard is your job. Pathetic. Double check your order before you leave. Even if you go in to order double check. Scrubs

Dirtiest bathroom! Dark brown bloches sprayed all over the raised seat. Walked in and turned around and walked right out.
Workers are eh sort of friendly but not really good service.
Maybe it’s just the side of town it’s in. Who knows.

I used to work from a McDonald’s Restaurant also. We’re having our lunche here. Fast service, but the worst service I ever had so far. I ordered mcnuggets and ask for a sweet chili sauce, the one they put on the mcwrap. But the guy said that’s only for mcwrap, so I asked for ketchup and mayonnaise. He said, they don’t have the mayonnaise packets. So I asked mayonnaise from the back, the one they put on the sandwiches. And he said he can’t do that again?! Why?! I want those sauces for my nuggets! I’ve entered a lot of McDonalds restaurant and they’re giving me what I need or I can just pay for the sauce but he can’t do that? What the heck!!! I paid for what I ordered but giving the change was horrible, a quarter and the receipt fell and I felt like he was throwing the change on me. But before that, we went on drive thru this morning. I ordered everything we need and asked for a cup for water. And they charged me for $.25? Really? For real? Will never come back on this restaurant anymore!

Local breakfast deluxe. Spam no ka oi. I really like it when Lehua is working. My order is already made before I even pay. Now that’s service.

I know, I know! McDonald’s?! Really?! You’re really going to review them?! Yup!
I’ve been going to this particular location because of its convenience. The thing about it lately is they either are having problems with the drive-​thru speakers, the employees are unable to multi-​task or my American-​English accent interferes with my ordering.
When I order a filet o fish meal and the girl asks me if i want bbq or sweet sour sauce with that, makes me wonder if my fish is really a fish! When I order a plain iced coffee and the guy repeats that I wanted a vanilla iced coffee, makes me want to ask for ketchup and salt with that! Plus, they make me pull to the side and wait, as if they’re cooking my iced coffee fresh for me! When I order several meals and there isn’t even one napkin in the bag, makes me thankful I didn’t have to go #2 in their restroom!
Don’t know what is happening lately, but I’m beginning to wonder if the only way I can have my orders done correctly is by texting these employees! I realize it is a pressured job at times, but when each visit ends up being a challenge just to get your order correctly, makes me want to take my McButt to McWendys or McBurger King! right now, I’m NOT loving it!

PROS:
— close to the court house if you have jury duty
CONS:
— the worst layout of any McD’s (the narrow & single drive thru line backs up into the parking lot and creates a huge jam)
