Food is pretty good. It’s a bit hard to order because the girl doesn’t speak English as a first language but she was patient and helpful. They get pretty busy during lunch but you can call ahead and put in your order so your wait is not too long.

So they’ve finally re-opened after being closed for 4 months for«renovations». Couldn’t really tell what was renovated except for the the ripped out nasty, sticky booths and replaced with bright red & green furniture. Place still had the grungey, dim lighting feel, but you could also tell they cleaned up a bunch. The food was ok, this place is my sisters go-to for cold ginger chicken and she loved it. I got the roast duck and kau yuk, it was good, not the best, but alright. The won tons have gotten better, they now serve it warm, before it used to be right off the pan that’s sitting out on the counter for God knows how long straight into a bag cold, now they warm it up(it surely wasn’t straight out of the fryer hot) and it was crispy and tasty. My boyfriend enjoyed the chicken katsu, the breading was light and crispy and the sauce was good. The place had a constant flow of customers, you could tell that people on the island missed the place while it was closed…

Their BBQ chicken is my personal favorite although they offer up many Chinese food entrees such as Kau Yuk, Ginger Chicken and Roast Duck. They have generous portions of Chicken Katsu, BBQ Chicken and Loco Moco. Used to be my kid’s favorite for chicken Katsu but I’ve noticed the chicken has gotten much thinner. The house cake noodle while still very delicious has diminished in size as well. The gentleman who takes the orders is consistently polite, and ALWAYS smiling. Owner also came out and struck up a conversation. Both were very friendly and appreciative of our business. Not the restaurant they once were but I say give them another try

Never again!!! Sorry, my bitch-fest begins!!! 3 stars to 2 stars because of the food! Obviously they changed something or have stopped giving a crap about good food! The won tons and my lemon chicken tasted like they were fried in very old oil and I couldn’t even finish one piece, not to mention the rest we wasted our money on. Tasted like they used dirty or old oil to fry the stuff in. One bite and I could already feel my bowels threatening to move if I took another! I’ve never experienced fried food that literally tasted like it was soaked overnight in expired oil, seasoned with expired oil flavored spices, deep fried in expired oil then sprinkled with expired oil!!! No shiyet! That’s how bad it was! When I took the food back because it was so bad, the lady looked at me as if I was making this up! she even made excuses by saying they change the oil daily and they«just cooked this!» When I asked her to try it, she refused! Maybe because she knew it would make her shiyet her pants is she did!!! HEYLADY, IFYOUCOOKFOODINEXPIREDORDIRTYOIL, NOMATTERWHATYOUCOOK, IT’LLPROBABLYTASTELIKESHIYET! You can change the oil every hour, but if the oil is no good, WTF do you think the food will taste like?! They did replace my meal with another, non-deep fried meal, which was nice, but a warning to others: if you order any of their deep fried foods, expect oily fare. Hope you have a strong stomach and weak taste buds! Maybe it’s time to call the Department of Health to come inspect this place! Too bad! Used to be a pretty decent place to eat, but never again! Oh, and did I mention that while I was ordering with the lady, in the middle of my sentence, she literally answered the phone in front of me and began taking a phone order in front of me? I found this extremely rude and extremely uncool. After she hung up and turned to give the cooks the order, she turned back to me, and acted as if it was my fault she didn’t complete my order! When she asked me to repeat myself, I told her that she would have heard my order if she didn’t rudely pick the phone up to take another order. I know she has 2 ears, but this was ridiculous! So, from pretty good to pretty shiyeti, this place needs a major makeover. I wouldn’t waste my time. Go a little ways up the road and patronize the other brother’s restaurant, Mike’s. Although only a bit better, at least my experiences there haven’t been nearly as bad! Never again!

Worst meal in Maui !!! I can’t believe how bad the food was… The macaroni salad tastes like it had been there for a while.. Don’t event think about trying their fried wontons. I’m sure they made them a week prior to us eating them. The meat(if it really was meat) was so dry, not even soaking it in water would bring it back to life. No Ac in their store, so we sweated our butts off… Customer service, actually a major lack there of… I will NEVEREVER eat here again.

I was watching the food network and they were talking about crispy roast pork– that’s when I knew what I wanted for dinner. Not knowing where to go for for such a thing I thought of the nearest Chinese restaurant I live to, Wei Wei. On Unilocal the first photo I see is of crispy pork. PERFECT! Supposedly I got the last half pound of crispy roast pork for the day. When I received my order(to-go) I was expecting a bigger container. Another thing I was expecting was a warm container. When I got home I decided to reheat my roast pork in the oven. Overall I was expecting more(portion and made to order) but than that the taste of the dish was all there! I would go back for more, maybe head there earlier for a double portion. Another thing I would suggest is their chicken katsu. I don’t know if it’s just me but I like their katsu and the sauce provided.

I liked it. The people are nice. There are better places but this place is cheap and good.

Long time ago when this place opened… that’s how long I’ve never gone there, however their food wasn’t too appealing, the whole atmosphere. wasn’t kosher. I remember going there for Ginger Chicken, Noodles, Pork… but now… I don’t know what happened. Maybe, maybe they had a bad day. I worked in restaurants before, and there can be bad days, key peeps calling in sick and stuff like that… so I’ll give them a chance… I’ll try again, I just don’t know when, but I’ll give them a chance in the future.

It was worst food place ever been before. My son’s plate had a big fly. They said re-cooked all but just change the part where fly was in. My daughter’s Won tan Min had a couple small bags in it. My Saimin’s soup was redish colour and worse than instant cup noodle. It wasn’t clean inside at all and no AC. We felt like throw up after eat. just don’t go this restaurant.(I don’t think it’s even restaurant.) 絶対オススメできません。 マックの方が絶対美味しい!(マックにサイミン有り!)

This place used to be really good. Came back recently and I was sad that the quality of food has deteriorated. Everything is pretty dry and has no flavor. Head to Tasty Crust instead.

I was working in the Wailuku area last week, and it was lunch time. I had to grab something quick, as I had to catch my plane back to Oahu. I saw this place — Wei Wei BBQ& Noodle House — not too far from where I was working, so I decided to drop by and check it out. What can I say… it was a very BAD idea! I walked in, ordered me the House Special Chow Fun Noodle. A bit pricey for what I got, but the worst of it, was the veggies in my noodles did not taste fresh at all… and overall the food did not taste very good… that’s the bottom line. I’ve had a noodles like this many times… and I can say this place cannot compete with the places I’ve eaten on Oahu, or the mainland. Lots of parking, service was okay… probably won’t be coming back here anytime soon.

I’ve patronized Wei Wei for years but stopped going because of declining food taste. Decided to give them one last try. ATMOSPHERE: Located in the Millyard industrial area. Plain & simple interior. A/C seems to be broken for the past year. FOOD: House Cake Noodles — Yuck. The noodles looked like fishcake wrapped with noodles and seared on the grill(see my up close pic in the photo section.) Needless to say they were like rubber, had no crunch at all and lacked flavor. The gravy on the other hand was tasty. Came with broccoli, shrimp, chicken, charsiu, won bok, canned mushrooms, celery & carrots. Ginger Chicken — Very flavorful. Probably the best on the rock. Roast Duck — Another selection they do well. Seasoned and cooked perfect. Gau Gee Min — The broth was lukewarm and lacked flavor. Another dish to avoid. SERVICE: Order at the counter and sit. OVERALL: Some foods have gone downhill, but some have stayed consistently good. Hit or miss I say. 1 star for the cake noodle but 1 more star for having a good ginger chicken and roast duck.

Wei Wei Bar-B-Q & Noodle House is an okay place to get Chinese/local food on Maui if you’re in a rush or if you want okay, inexpensive Chinese/local food. You can either choose to dine-in or get take-out. If you want to do take-out, I suggest calling your order in ahead of time(if you know what you want). Wei Wei gives you an easy way to pick-up your take out. Instead of walking into the restaurant, they’ve created a pick-up window located on the side of the restaurant. They do plate lunches, Ala-carte, and even catering. Their menu contains a vast majority of Chinese/local food. My personal favorite is their gon lo mein. It’s tasty(not too salty), but it is definitely on the greasier side. Their chicken katsu has got to be one of the best i’ve had on Maui. If you’re looking for a fancy restaurant to get something to eat, this is not the place for you. Wei Wei is sort of run down, but they’re still in business so that says something about their food. There is ample amount of parking and is located in Wailuku’s industrial area, near St. Anthony School.

Don’t eat here. They serve old food. Ordered crispy won tons and roast pork. Dried out and greasy. They are lucky that they are not on Oahu.

Food is okay but they are stingy on portions or servings, so it becomes expensive! It is not wheelchair«accssible» cause their doors are not automatic. Went there about 4 times. Never went back since May 2007. The 3rd time I went, I caught a cook smoking, not the wok side but the other side kitchen area. I told the lady owner and she was yelling at him in Chinese. I know from F&B classes the illegal stuffs that Board of Health can shut you down in an hour and I told her that she became more mad. Then we went back in May for lunch one weekend. Sat down and here’s the darker skin brunette order taker cleaning the next table, collecting all the forks and napkins that was left behind and she puts them back into the box on the counter!!! That is another NONO. no no no I’m never going back, pretty NUTZ

My family and I came here to grab a quick lunch before heading off to Queen Kaahumanu Center for some shopping. We wanted some local food and were originally looking for a place called Fern’s(formerly Norm’s) but found out they closed down since last year. We then wanted to eat at Sam Sato’s but they closed at 2pm… ahhh Wailuku restaurants! We passed by Wei Wei BBQ and remembered eating noodles here years ago so we decided to give it another go. The place is kinda grungy but it’s a small family-run Chinese restaurant so that gives it some charm. The food was okay. I ordered the Lemon Chicken expecting chicken marinated in a lemony-butter sauce like I’ve had at many other local restaurants, but instead I got chicken katsu type chicken with a lemon sauce on the side. I was so shocked because I basically got Chicken Katsu with lemon sauce on the side, which somehow turns it into Lemon Chicken. The chicken wasn’t bad at all but the rice was a bit hard. I ended up getting tonkatsu sauce on the side to make my lemon chicken into chicken katsu. My brother and mom got the Sweet and Sour Ribs which was pretty tasty and my dad got the Ox Tail Soup. The Ox Tail Soup was $ 11.95 and only came with three pieces of ox tail, kinda expensive in my opinion. All in all, I think this place is decent if you know what to get. My Lemon Chicken ‘soured’ my experience though, haha word play. But the left-overs were good at 1 am when I need to get my snack on after watching«Funny People.»(That movie was three hours long!)

I don’t think this place deserves to be slammed, although, in fairness to the first reviewer who lives there, I’m just an occasional tourist, and haven’t eaten here in a couple of years. That said… As soon as you step foot in this place, you know that the food must be good, or they couldn’t possibly stay in business. It’s kind of a dump. But, I liked the looks of the smoked ducks that were strung up behind the counter. I love to try neighborhood joints like this, which flourish on loyal local business, rather than an endless stream of tourists who won’t be coming back whether it’s good or not. The menu is Cantonese-style Chinese and island-style BBQ. All the noodles are made by hand, the old-fashioned way. I had a bowl of saiman flavored with big chunks of BBQ duck still on the bone. it was rustic, savory, and so delicious. I also enjoyed part of my wife’s plate of stir-fried ginger chicken with rice. This place is about as far off the beaten tourist path as you can get. For me, that’s part of it’s charm. It’s located in the Millyard Plaza strip mall, around the corner from the Wailuku post office. There is a second location in Pukalani. Open daily 9:30 am to 9:00 pm. Eat-in or take-out. No credit cards.

this place is so ridiculously expensive… and skimpy with their food. we ordered 2 orders of cake noodle to go which came out to $ 16 and there are 16 noodle squares… which means it is $ 1 per square!!! what a total rip off!!! we will never go here again.
