Cool vibe, nice space of upcycled materials and a relaxing greenspace. We took our food to go as it was unseasonably chilly. The raw vegan food is prepared, so there is little to no wait for your meal. We split both the Korean tacos and breadfruit or ulu enchiladas. We are familiar with raw vegan cuisine; we were strictly raw vegan for about 3 years. The presentation of both dishes was nice especially considering they are in to go containers. Both dishes we would have preferred if they were wrapped in a lettuce or collard green wrap as opposed to the gluten free raw wrap. But we know when you are fully raw it is nice to have something similar to a tortilla. The flavors of the«meat» were strong; they overshadowed the other flavors in the dishes. I found myself wanting more raw veggies in both dishes. Overall, they were both good and I would order them again, but maybe have only one of the dishes with the stronger flavors and order a salad to eat with it. I would defiantly return for another trip to the Kava café. The young woman serving us was so helpful and kind. She was open to teaching us more about the Kava. The place is a bit hard to find, but if you find the hostel, the café greenspace is almost directly behind the hostel. They do have a sign hanging on the street. Go kick back and enjoy!

What a wonderful introduction to the gentle world of kava buzzing! Quite hard to find, but the backyard lounge setting alone is worth the journey(hint: look for the street #, then walk the alley between the hostel and empty building to the beautiful back yard café) Aside from the kava, I highly recommend the raw vegan enchilada, which is filling, a bit spicy, and a worthy competitor to any hot meat enchilada I’ve had.

Pau Hana hides behind the North Shore Hostel, I checked the place out on a rainy Friday evening. Bar Keep/Operator made me a Kava with Maca extract served in a young coconut shell. The Place has a relaxing vibe they had a guy doing reiki off to one side with strings of light and some music playing in the background it reminded me of a Mazzy Star concert. As I sipped my Kava I chatted with energetic and I may say(cute) Café’s chef about Wailuku’s Korean food choices. Now about the Kava(that stuff packs a punch) in about ten minutes I felt like the world a slowed down to the point that what was happing around seemed to not matter so much(a different feeling the alcohol or caffeine but potent) I paid my bill 7 bucks for the elixir. I would personally not drive after drinking two of those. Overall a nice addition to the Wailuku community.

Amazingly gorgeous place. So relaxed and perfectly arranged: not a seat in the courtyard looks like a bad place to sit. The kava is to die for, too. Fresh, clean, and full of all the yummy body calming nutrients you’d want. Definitely worth the walk/trek from anywhere on, or off, the island.
