I come from the north part of the state where there once upon a time had many Bess Eatons. I’m so grateful that they were restored… even if they remain in the southern part. It is always a must have on my list when running errands. The ice, the sugar, the cup all makes me nostalgic. When I was only a child and life was so simple. I’d save up every penny I had to be able to get an iced coffee from BE. And they treat their customers so well. The owner should be proud. I know I am!

Bess Eaton is the best place. The staff is wonderful and you look forward to seeing them. They even give dog treats at the drive thru. We love their breakfast sandwiches especially on the Asiago cheese bagel. The donuts are delicious and so fresh. They also have bess bites as well. They have a great lunch menu. You can get the newspaper there as well so one stop shopping.

Better than the dunks down the street, and far more familiar than the ‘bucks in eyeshot of the place. I wanted the Tank, but knew better. The medium iced, cream only was exactly as I remember from the 10+ years its been since I’ve had a proper Bess Eaton Coffee. Crushed ice sealed the deal. The place itself is a bess eaton come tim horton’s come bess eaton, and as they had much of the tim horton equipment they had a sandwich menu and several soup options. I didn’t sample any of their offerings meal wise or sweet wise. They still offer the tank club(buy 9 get one free) which would be perfect for someone that needs to fuel up on high test before heading to the beach for the day. And a major plus(at least in my book) no more biblical quotes on the hot cups!

These guys have never failed to impress me. Love their food products and especially their coffee. Whenever we’re at the beaches or down that way we are sure to stop in before returning home.

I feel the need to write about this place. First of all, the ladies who work here are so sweet and pleasant in the morning(especially in the drive thru, compared to other coffee places where you feel the people on the microphone are shouting at you). The Tank might be the best thing you’ll ever drink. It’s this gigantic coffee that is WAY more coffee than anyone should drink. What’s better is that they used crushed ice(no one else does), and being that it’s in a bad-for-the-environment-styrofoam-cup, your ice will never melt. The only thing missing are the bible verses from the old school Bess Eaton cups. I remember these from my Middle School and Junior High days; loved the cinnamon roll and a tank of iced hazelnut extra extra(now in my adult years, it’s just a splash of milk– hold the cinnamon roll). Compared to DD’s down the street, I’d say the coffee and service at Bess Eaton is always consistent. Well done!

The tank. .yessssssssss. Bess Eaton is back in Wakefield with their enormous — more –than — you — should — consume iced coffee in their signature environmentally unfriendly Styrofoam cup. The TANK. This drink could have been the nectar of the gods… if the gods were over-caffeinated freaks. I know that I shouldn’t drink one of these gigantic iced coffees after 2pm because it pretty much guarantees a crappy night of sleep for me. But — I do it anyway because I LOVE my iced coffee made with crushed ice. It melts as you sip AND doubles as a crunchy snack once you’ve sucked every last drop of coffee outta that cup. Of course, it gives me the giddy-up that I need at the mid-day hour. Could I get that rush with the medium iced coffee? Yup. But there is something empowering about swooshing around a full 32 ounces on a hot summer day. The brew is robust and flavorful. I prefer their iced version over DD because here the iced coffee is consistent. Not always the case at the other place where it ranges from good to really, REALLY bad. Their hot coffee at Bess Eaton is good as well, but I come here strictly for the iced stuff. A medium, hot black is few and far between for me here. Friendly service. Muffins and bagels are fresh. No donut trials yet so can’t comment there. My only disappointment is that I have yet to be offered a Tank club card. You buy 9 Tanks and get your 10th free. Just discovered this club looking on-line just now. I want to be part of that inner circle!(and get some free coffee out of it) Looks like there are also some other decent coupons to check out on the web site. So glad this Rhode Island institution is back in business in the heart of Wakefield. Super!

Nothing is better first thing in the morning than having a friendly voice over the intercom while going through the drive-thru. The inside is great too but I am usually an on the way to work customer. Other Coffee shops have lines with a different face each morning… not as consistent as I like. I prefer the coffee over other large chain coffee shops. it isn’t harsh and bitter. If I want a dark coffee I will go with an espresso from a specialty café. Thank You Bess Eaton for the right way to start my day!

Bess Eaton is the reason I love coffee. Back during my days at URI, Bess Eatons were a coffeehouse staple all over Rhode Island and the coffee was delicious! They were known for 3 things: — crushed ice — Biblical verses on the side of the cup — amazing iced coffee!!! The Bess Eaton franchises all closed down several years back but have returned with a few locations in South County. And while the Biblical verses may gone with the old, Bess Eaton is back with amazing coffee and crushed ice! And it’s just as good as you remember!
