For a quick bite, I treated my native Philadelphian mother-in-law and son to this establishment. To be honest, there was only one employee behind the counter during our visit, which affected the delivery of our meals. Mom and I ordered hot pastrami sandwiches, while Little Man ordered the waffles and bacon. We had eaten half of ours by the time the waffle had arrived. The food was decent for the price. We will give them another try to see if it was just an off day.

Very disappointed. Sandwiches were ordinary and overpriced, not fresh, questionable come slaw, slow service. One woman show, she didn’t seem suited to be running a restaurant. Soup seemed canned. Not worth trying.

The food and service was amazing! More people should come here. I had the hot Italian panini and tomato basil soup. My husband had a cheesesteak and my son had grilled cheese. Both sandwiches came with deli sides-the pasta salad was so good but my husband said the potato salad fell a little short-but since the cheesesteak was the«best sandwich he’d ever had» it was no big deal. The cashier/cook was very nice, and even checked on us after we’d started eating and took our plates away when we were done. I’ve always wanted a deli in Waldorf, and this one is perfect. Going to try breakfast next!

I was looking for breakfast and my brother referred to this spot and while it was nice looking on the inside with a nice tv, it was lacking something and so was the menu. But I decided to give it a try. I wanted a breakfast sandwich but it was priced high and they didn’t even have the bread I wanted so I got a ham and cheese omelet platte with hash browns, since it was almost the same price as the sandwich, $ 8.99 and it was poorly made ! I thought that when you make an omelet, you put the meat inside the egg and fold it? It wasn’t made good and it was bland. Maybe my brother wanted me to come by here for lunch, because breakfast gets two thumbs down from me…

Nothing special. We ordered one cold Italian; one pastrami and cheese and a Belgium waffle with sausage. Oddly, the waffle was all cut up. Made me think they got it off someone’s discarded plate, but it had no syrup on it. The sandwiches were just that, not on a sub roll. The Italian was $ 10.00 which I think is pricey for a sandwich. The condiments were skimpy. I added more stuff at home. All in all, I could buy Boars Head and make a better sandwich at home.

Today was my first visit. I received a lovely greeting when I entered the door. I ordered the cheesesteak. It was made fresh and it was yummy! The sub roll bread compliments it perfectly. I will be returning to try the breakfast!

What is this place? I went in expecting a nice deli restaurant. But it was just a small window of deli meats that you can get at any grocery store. It didnt look fresh. Did not look appetizing. Did not look fresh. And there were barely any meats to choose from. I did not see any homemade foods to choose from. The place was empty except for the guy who works there watching tv. Dont waste your time.

This place is awesome! Everything is homemade and great customer service. Elena let us sample her homemade pimento cheese and chicken salad… and we bought containers to go! They are a must have! Waiting for the Monte Cristo and a breakfast turkey sandwich now. Stay tuned for an update :)

This sparkling-clean, friendly deli sits in the shadow of a Chipotle across the parking lot, yet just doesn’t seem to capture the traffic it deserves. Elena’s specializes in panini-style sandwiches at lunch including a classic Cuban. For about a dollar more than I would have spent on another same-ol’ burrito bowl across the parking lot, I got an authentic, tasty, toasty Cuban prepared with a smile.($ 12 with a bottled diet coke). PS – bathrooms super clean. Good lunch stop alternative to the brand-name neighbor.

We just found this AMAZING little deli spot in Waldorf! The employees are awesome, friendly, and helpful! The food is fabulous, too! The owners are Christians and I LOVE that they aren’t afraid to let their customers know, hense The Purpose Driven Life book on the shelf, and the daily devotional underneath it! If you haven’t taken a trip over to Elena’s yet, you need to do so! Go out and support your local mom and pop shop!

I visited this establishment a month ago. The owner and her assistant were friendly enough. My main issue has to do with cleanliness. At the time of my visit… I ordered a sandwich and chips. The owner took my order and placed my change on a surface that ended up being the scale that the sandwich meats were weighted on. I noticed that the assistant who actually made my sandwich also placed the meat and cheese for my order on the same scale. A dead turn off… period. Because I pride myself on supporting local non-chain restaurants. I would have to say, I was very generous for not making a big deal about what I saw at the time about my visit. Trust and believe I will not be returning… sorry Elena.

Last impressions first. Show this small local business some love. We need more none-franchise places in Charles County to eat. They’ll fold if you do not invest in them. The food is just as good as the Silver Diner. Yes, the ambiance is lacking but go anyway. The ambiance will come when the owners can afford to do more, i bet. This deli is relatively new, probably less than 1 years old. It’s small(size wise) & locally owned by Elena Montenegro & Jerry Elliott according to cards on the counter. Now to the«meat» of this review. I had a garden salad w/2 scoops of chicken salad added. This looked good from photos posted on Unilocal and proved to be just as good as it looks. It gets a 5. The chicken was fresh white meat only, just as it should be. Everything on the salad was fresh. The salad greens did not look like it had been poured out of a bag, a VG thing and even included slices of cucumber and tomatoes that tasted like real tomatoes. I had a bite of the ham and«home made» pimento cheese sandwich my wingman ordered. I did not even know folks made pimento cheese at home, «duh» on me. They offered us a taste of the pimento cheese as we entered to a friendly round of welcomes. the pimento cheese was oozing out the side of the panini. Delicious too. The ham & cheese gets a 5 rating. We ate in the deli There is no beer or wine on the menu so get a Togo order if you want to enhance your meal with an adult beverage. Otherwise, there is water, soda and juice to choose from. They serve Zappo chips and dessert by Cynthia Ann. Cynthia Ann must be good if the lemon bar is any indication; tart like it should be. I have to shave 1 point for no beer or wine even though I realized they are«new kids on the block» and the Charles County Liquor Board seems«out for bear», not to mention the cost of the liscense. It’s got to be tough and vey risky being a small business start up owner in this type of environment. Our 2 orders(ham & cheese, garden salad, chicken salad, water and 2 lemon bars) cost about $ 25. Knock about $ 5 off to exclude the desserts. There is live entertainment on Saturdays. For example, John Lewis(guitarist, composer, producer and educator) is the artist for today. Mr Lewis played with Chuck Brown(deceased). Call for the time of the show. The place is small, as I said, so I do not know how thisgoes on if to many people show up(cozy). The show is free. There is local art work on the walls for sale. There are 2.5 booths and 3 tables for four. The deli seems sort of sterile, for some reason I can not put my finger on. Perhaps the color scheme. I dunno. There is a TV on the wall. There is no free WiFi.

I LOVE Elena’s Deli! I was headed to Chipotle one day and the line was insanely long, so I walked over to the deli to try it out, because it was new. I was immediately greeted by Shane and Maria when I walked through the door. They helped with great recommendations and I ended up choosing the cheese steak panini. I’ve been HOOKED every since. To tell the truth, there have been weeks where I visited 2 days in a row. What keeps me coming back? Definitely, the customer service and friendly staff. Ms. Elena is warm and welcoming. Shane is funny and energetic. Maria always recognizes me and my mother when we come through the door. It feels like friends and they always do their best to make my experience perfect. I also love that they have DELICIOUS food. I’ve tried several things, but the steak and cheese is my fave. I appreciate the Boar’s Head meat, because it’s gluten free, all natural and much better for you than processed meats you find at conventional sandwich shops. You have to try it here! You’ll love it!

So I’m not gonna lie, I drive over Togo to Chipotle which is next door but decided I’d try the new deli since it looked like a locally owned small business. I was pleasantly greeted the moment that I walked in the door. I wasn’t sure what I wanted so I told the guy behind the counter that I wanted something with lots of meat and he suggested the Cuban. I ordered it and paid. A few minutes later my order was ready and the good was served to me right at my table which is always nice. They brought napkins and everything and even checked to see if the good was okay after I began to eat it. I said the good was great and then they said let them know if I needed anything and then they left me alone the rest of the time. Very nice employees and the food was pretty delicious also! I will definitely be returning to try some of their other offerings.

I have been twice. For lunch had the club sandwich which was perfect with lots of meat. Went back on Saturday for breakfast and I was greeted by everyone in the place, nice touch. The breakfast platter was good. The lady making my scrambled eggs gave me fried by mistake. I told her don’t worry about it and she insisted, nicely, that she be allowed to make them over. She did and I was happy with her determination:). Great breakfast in a nice quite spot at low prices. A lot of men were coming in for breakfast, which I think is due to the fact that on Saturdays the other restaurants are crowded and we just want to sit and eat. Only suggestion is that they add waffles or French toast to the menu once they get settled bit.

Had the pleasure of enjoying a terrific Chicken Melt today ! My husband opted for a breakfast sandwich. We both were thoroughly delighted with our choices. We were greeted with enthusiasm by the staff and met Elena! Take the time to stop in — you will be glad you did!

I’ve eaten here twice already and the food is delicious! My turkey club sandwich was so large! Great portions for affordable prices. Can’t wait to try the Cuban sandwich! They use fresh Boar’s Head products for all the sandwiches and you can also buy by the pound. The owners are pleasant, professional and treat you like family! Can’t wait to go back tomorrow!
