We stopped into Henry Earl after a long day of wine tasting for an appetizer before headed to dinner in downtown Walla Walla, and I’m glad we made the stop. 4 of us split a bottle of their 2012 Malbec, and it was great. However, the highlight was the chorizo stuffed mushrooms that we ordered — they were so good, we ordered a second plate of them. If you’re looking for a great tasting room with a unique atmosphere/ambiance(there was an old buggy in the dining room that you could sit at) with a great snack menu, I’d highly recommend this place!

This is more than a tasting room, it is a large, tourist-focused bar. The employee running the tasting was professional and tried to sell us when we were still trying different wines. When we were finished, we said no, but were actually contemplating purchasing their wine. However, he went onto other customers. To me, there are many better wines & I prefer the smaller tasting rooms due to service quality. This is the type of place you go and order a bottle of wine after tasting all afternoon and a nice dinner at Olive.

Henry Earl was a huge winery(so much seating) located in downtown Walla Walla. We got to try 5 wines when we stopped by, the Riesling, Chardonnay, Merlot, Homesteader and the Cabernet Sauvignon. I really liked how their white wines were«on tap» and can be ordered in a growler size. I had never seen any winery do that before so it definitely set them apart. I wasn’t a big fan of the red but I did enjoy the whites and we ended up getting a growler of the Riesling. You pay for the wine and then pay an additional $ 5 for the growler that you can keep and bring back for a refill.

I’ve been working in Walla Walla and we wanted to try out some tasting rooms, but had a hard time finding places open after work. We found Henry Earl because they’re open late, and we’re very glad we did! I came by with a group of people, and we ordered glasses of almost, if not all of, the wines they have for tasting. We enjoyed all of the wines, even the whites and rose which Walla Wallla area isn’t usually known for. I also loved that they had happy hour! I think it ended at 6pm. When we went to check out, there was 1 extra glass of wine we were charged for, and the woman working gladly took it off and it wasn’t an issue. I would definitely recommend this tasting room and their wines!

What a GREAT place! First off the Henry Earl wines are fabulous, the food is excellent and the décor is great, not to mention its kind of an after hours tasting spot. The staff is friendly and attentive and the owners happen to be there during our visit and were so down to earth and friendly! What a nice addition to Walla Walla!

This is such an honor to write the very first Unilocal review of «Henry Earl Estates»! I am writing this specifically on their exclusive ‘wine room’ located in downtown Walla Walla, WA. Had it not been for my amazing fiancée, Claudia H., I would have never found out about this place. And what makes it all the more special is that she is actually a native of Walla Walla(born and raised). However, since she relocated to California, the surge of wineries has literally quadrupled in just the past few years. «Henry Earl Estates» is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Walla Walla, WA on East Main Street. And one unique thing about this little gem of a city is that there are several places to go wine tasting. However, this place caught our attention and I will be focusing my review specifically on them. Parking was an absolute breeze as we found a spot directly outside around 2:00pm on a beautiful Thursday afternoon in September. A little bit of history about«Henry Earl Estates» is that they got their name from two local fathers of the vineyard, Henry Shaw and Earl West. Do keep in mind that none of their barrels are at this tasting room. This is how all of the wine tasting rooms are in downtown Walla Walla. Unlike Napa, CA and the Columbia Valley(where you’re actually going to the vineyards), everything here is mainly just a tasting station. As we walk inside, the one noticeable look was that it had a truly rustic, warm, and comfortable atmosphere. Deep, rich wooden floors flowed beautifully with the classic 19th-century styled chairs. Everything flowed so well into the brick walls which made the whole interior a major focal point of the winery. It almost had a «saloon» look to it minus the bottles of whiskey and replacing them with some of Washington’s finest reds and whites. We were then greeted by a gentleman that was helping another couple. He then had us sample a flight of their whites and reds. I have to be honest, after sampling some of this wine(primarily their Robust Red Mountain & Russel Creek), this stuff actually tops what I’ve had in the Napa Valley! The flavor is aromatic and sweet. We even tried their«Cheese Flight»(for $ 14.00) which included Imported and Domestic cheeses, salami, ham, mixed nuts, fresh fruit, honey, and gourmet crackers. This was also very impressive as everything paired itself perfectly with our wines. So do yourself a favor, definitely give«Henry Earl Estates» a try! Their service and wines are excellent. And best of all, they have longer hours than most places in downtown Walla Walla(as they may stay open as late as 9pm). With the growing trend of wine tasting in this part of the USA, I definitely encourage everyone to visit Walla Walla(and their award-winning wines). You will not be disappointed!
