The Corner Carhop

I would give this place zero stars if possible. I bought a Groupon for a dinner cruise. They are not honoring the Groupon or giving me my money back either. They stole $ 70 from me. No one will take my call. I spoke with the owner who talked about the employees fighting with each other and how she’s busy with movies. That’s her reason for not following through with the dinner cruise. This is absolutely inappropriate and bad customer service!

If you’re out on the boat and want a quick (ish) bite that is delicious and cheap, this is the place! The burgers are really good! I was expecting «ok», but they are better than many restaurants that specialize in burgers and charge premiums for every pickle they put on it. Onion rings and tots are good too. Service with a smile. We will be back again and again :)

This used to be Tom’s Root Beer and those owners sold the place. I think it has benefitted from new blood. The burgers were quite good and the toppings fresh and generous. Good fries and my boyfriend had a chocolate malt, which was also pretty good. The draw here is dining outside at the picnic tables and the view of Walled Lake. We would definitely come back.

I have been passing by this place for a couple years now and finally stopped tonight! Wow! So sad I didn’t stop earlier! The cheeseburger I ordered was terrific! The server told me they use fresh meat that comes in daily, and it certainly was tasty and juicy! The cheese was good too… Not like a Kraft single or anything. I had the onion rings, which were really hot! I liked how the onion didn’t pull out of the crispy coating. This place used to be Tom’s Root Beer Stand, and they still carry the root beer! It’s creamy and refreshing. They also serve Vernor’s, which is another favorite drink of ours. I thought the prices were really reasonable, especially considering the fresh burger. For a kid’s meal, they can choose from grilled cheese, hot dog, burger, or chicken tenders. We will be back. And we’ll bring friends next time!

I gave this place a 5 and I would give them a 5 over and over again!
I absolutely love the Corner Carhop so I took a friend there because when you find a treasure, you want to share it. She dug the place too for it’s charm and location which is right on the lake. However, our moment of enjoyment was cut straight to shear terror as we watched our delicious food fall to the ground (which was our fault).
Because the Corner Carhop does things the old fashion way by hooking the food tray up to your car window, anything that strays away from that could send your items falling on the concrete floor. Who knew the slight press of a button could cost us a big flop at the Carhop!!!
But the staff was really great about assuring us we were not the first to have a major flop and before we could even help pick up the mess, it was all gone and new food was brought out.
In the end, we had a great day but it could have ended up completely different had it not been for the wonderful staff at the Corner Carhop. Thanks guys!

Tried their fried egg sandwich and it was great! The burgers are thick and juicy too. Wash it down with a Black Cow and you’ll be set. I hear they’re gonna start delivery service too. Love the 50’s décor and outfits for the waitstaff. Would suggest they put a Porta-​John outside since there are no restrooms. Best of all, I can walk there!

We both had cheeseburgers and fries. Pretty good! Burger was tasty and the fries were nice and crispy. The service was very friendly and quick! Would like to see some picnic tables for those who live in the area or for those at the beach who are walking to the location. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it’s a bit pricey.
