Huge salads. Split them with a friend. We asked for burger medium and it was overcooked a bit. Sweet potatoe fries were great.

Lunch with wife on a rainy Tuesday afternoon. We have driven by Archie Moore’s several times and it, along with the good Unilocal reviews, perked my interest to eat here. Seated quickly, our drink order is taken and served promptly. My wife ordered a beer battered chicken sandwich(which includes french fries and a deli pickle). I order two dishes from the appetizer list, choosing grilled salmon slices served on a bed of greens & dipping sauce and an order of fried calamari. This is a pub setting and we enjoyed the music playing in the background while we conversed about our current events. Nice atmosphere for this purpose. Dishes are served and as per our M.O. we try a taste of each others order first. A taste of the beer battered chicken had a wow factor. This sandwich is big. It and the fries are seasoned nicely and the honey mustard to dip in is delish. Very good portion. My salmon was grilled perfectly. Rare center nice and moist. It tasted fresh. I even ate all of the greens it was served on. Yummy. The portion of fried calamari served was very generous. So much so that I asked for a marinara sauce refill. The dish contained an equal amount of rings and pieces. Each bite had a light coating and was fried perfectly. My only wish is that it was served with a few jalapeño peppers to spice it up a bit. Bottom line here is that we were pleased with our visit. Since the menu lists a varity of interesting dishes we will return every so often when we are in the area. Check it out. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Enjoy.

Hands down amazing wings. Nice bar to get a beer and wings before a show at the Oakdale.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a while. We waited a half hour to be seated and our food didn’t come until an hour and a half after we placed our order, and this was on a Monday night. After our food finally arrived our burgers did not come out as requested and were so raw that they were inedible. It took another half hour after we’d finished eating to even receive our check. Terrible service and very mediocre food. Will not be returning.

Great local bar with excellent service. This is the place to go to have pub food, and drinks. We always sit at the bar because Tom is the best!

This was my favorite place and definite«go to» bar when I lived in Connecticut. The wings are to DIE for(be sure to ask for EXTRA spicy, if you like spice). Tom is the best bartender ever. Seriously. He’s the only bartender I trust to make my drinks. The bar gets crowded on weekends and nights, but it just makes for a good night.

I’ve heard all about this place from a few friends and I finally was able to try it out. I went here for lunch mid week and there wasn’t a crowd at all. I’ve heard after work is a different story. There’s free parking in the rear which is nice. The restaurant itself has tables to the right and the bar to the left. Our waitress was attentive and polite. The food was good. The wings are what they say. Good for sure. Perfect place to have a wing night or watch a game. I also had the jalapeño burger which was pretty good. I’ll definitely be back for the wings.

Best wings, regular menu is good as well, good selection of beers and the service is usually good. The place is always a bit cramped(too many tables) and pretty loud but maybe that’s the atmosphere that they’re going for. Despite those picky comments, we’ve gone there dozens of times and will continue to do so as it is so good. This is one chain that has been able to successfully replicate the original formula of their Willow Street in all of their restaurants.

I love Archie Moores but not this location. Unfortunately it’s too small to meet any sort of dining needs. Especially if you plan to talk to someone while drinking or eating. Alot of locals frequent here so it’s established itself as a stable spot for some. The wings and wraps are fantastic in case you want to order one.

With all of the bar options in Wallingford, this is one of the most reliable as far as great food and service. The bar itself is fairly large with lots of dining room seating and some limited outdoor seating as well. They have a HUGE menu of bar/pub food options with tons of vegetarian and gluten free alternatives. Not to mention the giant list of beers on tap. This place is great for a group to meet for after work drinks and dinner. I have found my new favorite dish here — the Mediterranean Trio. It’s a giant salad with hummus, tabouleh, olives, pita, etc. We also tried the chips and dip appetizer which was fab! The happy hour specials were great with half price apps and beer discounts as well. I have yet to be disappointed by this charming little bar — the fantastic service truly makes it somewhere that you want to come back to again and again.

The food here is consistently delicious. I have been here many times and have tried multiple things on the menu. The buffalo wings are a must have, I mean what is Archie Moores without wings! I would also suggest the barbecue chicken wrap! I have had both the barbecue and buffalo chicken wrap, while both are good, in my opinion the barbecue wrap is superior. I would also recommend the chicken asparagus wrap with a side of sweet potato fries and extra balsamic! The service is pretty standard and at times the place can get really loud but if my rating was based solely on the food I would give it five stars.

Archie’s is not my favorite place in Wallingford. The parking is difficult and the layout is horrible. The bar is huge, which is nice, but the location is divided in three and it’s impossible to get around easily. Each«area» has an aisle big enough for one person — so if there’s a waitress coming towards you with plates of food, you need to find somewhere else to stand. The food is decent but, again, not my favorite. They have a great ambiance and the patio is the best in town, but it’s just such a hassle getting around in there that it’s not worth stopping in.

Food is always amazing and I’ve never had a bad meal here. Even though the Wallingford location is kind of tight and loud, I still can’t give Archie Moore’s anything lower than 5 stars. If you want wings for a party this is the best place to get them. When we have friends or family visit, we also go with Archie Moore’s wings.

I’m from Rochester, NY about an hour east of Buffalo. It’s chicken wing capital up where I live. Went on a Tuesday night around 9pm. Place was pretty busy. Sat at the bar. They seemed under-staffed. The older bar tender with white hair and glasses seemed to be taking care of more people than anyone else. He wasn’t very talkative but no biggie. The wings weren’t great. The skin was crispy but they tasted kind of tough and chewy after a while. Good wings don’t do that. I tried 2 different sauces(1 with raspberry and 1 peach chipotle). The peach chipotle was a little better but in general both weren’t that great. Should’ve gone to the Archie Moore’s in New Haven. Much better reviews from there.

Not sure about the complaints regarding the staff. I have never had a bad experience with them. Tom is the best bartender, the wings are still amazing, the sweet potato fries are awesome, and the Apple martinis are still to die for.

We went to Archie’s after some customer meetings one day. Great wings, quality burger too. A little bit of tight quarters, and street parking. Still a good option.

Great local gem. their wings are great, perfect crisp, heavenly sauce, and fantastic blu cheese. Their regular menu is always pretty consistent, something for whatever mood you are in. Great drinks, always a heavy pour and friendly bar tenders. Pretty packed on weekend nights, great takeout if you cannot make it inside. Their website has online ordering too.

Everything here is mediocre and grimy. Soft, underfried, greasy-wet garbage and mold problems to boot. Don’t ask for a mixed drink; they’re all pretty terrible. The prices for wings are kind of ludicrous now, as well(over $ 1 a wing!). Which brings me to the wings. You’ll want to order them«extra crispy» but not before sacrificing a small child to Satan and bribing the cook. If you fail to follow these simple rules you’ll get flabby wings. One in three times, maybe, if you order/murder/bribe appropriately, you’ll have some amazing wings. Maybe. Asking does not always guarantee they’ll actually listen or care. I assume the cooks haven’t learned to read yet, and don’t see it on the check but they’re more likely just lazy or passive aggressive. Fryer oil needs to be HOT when the wings go in. If you don’t get enough sizzle on the skin in the beginning, you won’t blast all the little water pockets apart enough to create that crispy skin matrix. The wings also need to cook long enough that there aren’t an excess of juices left to turn all that delicious skin crisp into mush. Judging by the bloody pink interior and the fatty surface we usually see, I’d say they’re probably failing on both accounts. The more you order, too, the worse they’ll be; more proof they’re oblivious to the very simple realities of operating a fryer. Don’t be fooled by the«paid for» accolades from CT Magazine. These are not the best wings in CT.

I can thank the North Haven Food Truck Festi-fail for bringing me to Archie Moore’s yesterday. We bailed on the Festival because of ridiculous traffic and an absence of traffic control. Still looking for lunch, we stopped in Wallingford and had a very enjoyable experience here. We sat outside and started with a $ 13.95 order of 14 wings — half terriyaki and half buffalo. Man were the wings good, I expected them to be good because every list of «Best» wings has Archie Moore’s somewhere on that list. They were crisp on the outside– but a little crisp, not like a suit of armored kevlar. They were moist and juicy on the outside, not like a slab of jerky. The sauces were light and not syrupy. The size of the wings was very good– not itty bitty hummingbird –like wings. Damn, everything about them was excellent. Our meals were a Charles Chicken sandwich($ 9.95) and a Paul Steak and Cheese($ 10.50). Both were served with fries and a pickle. Both sandwiches were inhaled in their entirety. I had a Grilled Veggie Salad with Cajun Chicken(4 chicken tenders) for $ 14.90. It was great –nice grilled veggies, crisp salad and the chicken was plentiful and delicious. Service was fine and friendly, the lunch for three ran us $ 52.43.

Not my favorite Archie’s location by a long shot — but it works sense it’s in town. New Haven has a social nostalgic aura for me, and Milford has a great patio — but nonetheless if I have a craving for wings this is my local spot. The staff here is horrendous though. I’ve ordered take out, gotten home found an entirely wrong order and when I called to advise I would be on my way down to pick up the corrected order the«Manager» gave me a hard time about it. I had to ask the guy if I did something wrong. I was advised that it was what I ordered. Nope, I didn’t. I’ve offered the same thing from this establishment since I was a young kid. I did NOT order buffalo wings WITHOUT buffalo sauce. How ridiculous. Needless to say, Archie’s nails pub fare so eat here but don’t expect decent service.
