Chris’s Restaurant

I stopped by Chris’s recently on a tour-​of-​Wallingford-​bars that I was giving to a friend. I have to preface my review by explaining that we had already visited 10 other bars before stopping at Chris’s (yes, we were ambitious that evening). So my most recent experience at Chris’s is not what I am reviewing. Previously, I had been to Chris’s quite a few times. A friend of mine was a regular there, as were many members of her family, so I found myself quite comfortable at Chris’s. While the décor is beyond dated, it’s a decent place to go. They don’t have a wide selection of drinks but they get their mixed drinks right, which is more than many other local bars can say. It’s almost like going to the Elks — you’re not going to leave with empty wallets, but you feel like you just joined a club.
