Just had their special, calamari with risotto and arugula salad with blood oranges… Super yummy!!! And their blood orange pomegranate agua Fresca, can’t get enough of! YUM! Tender Greens, you hit on the mark with these two!!!

Great food! I ordered the Chinese chicken salad, split pea soup and went back to order a side of roasted Brussels sprouts and Moroccan seasoned carrots mixed. Enjoyed every last bit. The staff was also extremely pleasant despite being very busy.

Food was amazing, love how fresh it is and locally grown. I wish this was a chain all over NorCal. Very quick and convenient healthy food. Can’t wait to return and try something new. There is so many options.

Good service, clean, and good food. Fried chicken dish is great! Salads are great too. A little pricey for what it is.

As the young orphan boy questioned at the beginning of Nacho Libre, «why can’t we ever have just like a salad?» Or Elaine from Seinfeld who wanted the«big salad» which George’s girlfriend took credit for by handing it to her. Tender Greens is more than«just like a salad.» I had the fried chicken plate. Two pieces of perfectly fried chicken, side of mashed potatoes, and roasted root veg. It was awesome. The kids meal was the best part. For $ 6.50 my little one got a slightly scaled down version of the adult plate. We did try the special, which was a white fish and side salad. The salad was great but the fish did not really have any flavor. We also had the Chinese chicken salad. The best dressing I have ever had. In getting that again, I would see if my chicken could be crispy instead of baked. –regular napkins, but are not available without asking. What did I learn today? «Today is especially delicious. Excellent lunch place with quality food, at a great price! I ordered the Tuna Niçoise salad and it was delicious! The veggies were crisp and fresh(you could tell because the colors were so vibrant) and instead of a regular egg, you get a quail egg in the salad! I would definitely come back! This place could be an easy 5 stars, but the tuna, though fresh, was commercial grade(you can tell by the color). Don’t get me wrong, it was still tasty but looks matter! It was light pink vs. the vibrant red that you would expect from seared tuna. :)

When I started working in Walnut Creek, a co-worker recommended Tender Greens for lunch, and I was very happy she did. The place is very modern, clean and has a lot of seating, but it is pretty popular, so don’t be surprised if it takes a couple moments to find a seat. The food is really good. We like the steak, ahi tuna and the barbecue chicken. The vegetables are great because they offer what’s best in season, so it’s not always the same ol’ boring thing over and over again. The«strawberry agua fresca» was amazing. I don’t usually order drink when I go out to restaurants, but this one is so refreshing and light, I love it. Only thing is this place is super expensive. I think I reached $ 30 for just me the last time I came in. You leave full, but not feeling bad because you had such a healthy meal :)

This is a fast casual place that offers salad, hot plates and soups. It’s pretty much a few proteins that is offered and you can have it in a salad, a hot plate(with sides) or a sandwich form. There are also personal size desserts available as well as a selection of wine and non-alcoholic drinks. I looked at the menu today before I went for lunch, there is a line that you walk through and it goes from you ordering to seeing how the food is made to paying and then picking up your food. It’s an interesting concept but gets enough diner through the line quickly so it works quite well. Onto the food, I ordered the Tuna Big Salad with Horseradish dressing, it was quite tasty, the greens were fresh, the fish seems a tad overcooked though but the potatoes was cooked to perfection. Everyone gets a piece of buttered bread to go with their salad, and the salad isn’t huge, but it’s good enough. Overall the food here is good for the price and I would definitely come back here again. On one note though, check their website out for the calories for their dressing. Many of them are quite fattening in nature so be careful about ordering the healthy salad and then have it dressed in fat.

The food here is very simple, fresh, and flavorful. I got the brussel sprouts, squash, mashed potatoes, and tuna. All were pretty good. The only downside was the bread pudding. It was semi cold and the bottom layer wasn’t cooked fully.

I wish there was a Tender Greens in San Jose or the surrounding area. *hint, hint* Everything on the menu looked pretty tasty — I opted for the COBBSALAD with grilled chicken. Normally, I despise chicken because it’s always dry and/or flavorless but it wasn’t the case here; the chicken was actually tender and moist. yes — moist. The bacon was super thick cut and the tarragon dressing was perfect. They had like 6 different varieties of fresh juices as well and offered samples which was great. I did opt for the iced tea, but if it were a sunny day one of their turmeric juices would be ideal. Food was great, but ordering/waiting was a little weird. Order upfront, walk around to the counter and pay. Then sorta stick around and wait — then move in between the people in line to get to your food. It was a bit of a cluster.

I love Tender Greens! I wish there was one located closer in the East Bay like Berkeley. I always order the Harvest Salad with Southern Friend Chicken. The salads are fresh and they give you a hefty portion. The chicken is so perfectly crisp, but I must say over time the cuts of chicken have gotten smaller and smaller. Also, the curry chicken soup is my favorite! I wish they would have it more often. I’ve tried many of their desserts and they are all delectable. The citrus olive oil cake is my favorite. Service is always fast, unless you order the fried chicken which takes a couple minutes more.

I went to lunch here for the first time with a good friend after she recommended this place for lunch. It was a bit crowded when we got here around noon, but we weren’t in line long before we were finally at the counter placing our orders. We both ended up ordering the same thing: the steak big plate. As I walked along the counter after placing my order, I thought it would be sort of cafeteria style and we’d pick up our food at the end. Well we did pay at the end, but food wasn’t ready. There were about 8 empty trays with people crowding around the register area, waiting for food. Instead of waiting with them, we decided to get a table. The inside is not very stroller friendly, FYI. After about 10 after sitting down, my friend went back up to get our food. It was delicious! The salad could’ve used more dressing and cheese imo, but the rest was tasty. Not sure if it was all really worth $ 32(how much both of our lunches were together), so I agree with fellow Unilocalers that mention that it is a bit overpriced. While the ingredients are fresh, the portions of meat could be larger, or more salad, heck, give me an extra piece of garlic bread, something! A fancier lunch for sure with the price, but still tasty. I’ll definitely come back in the future and bring the husband, but I wouldn’t frequent this place with the price being what it is. My only gripe is that when I spilled my glass of water, I went up to the register area and asked a girl wiping down trays for more napkins and she looked at me crazy. I explained why, and she gave me two napkins. I asked her for more and she asked back, «that’s not enough?» I thought maybe she would’ve offered to wipe the table for me or even give me way more napkins after explaining that I had just spilled my glass of water everywhere, but I guess she was into wiping down trays.

My friend and I came here for a weekday lunch to catch up. We met up around 12:30, parking was a complete bitch omg. I did not know how popular DT walnut Creek had become? Or maybe we just came at a popualr time ?? The parking lots only had 3 – 4 spaces on each floor but I was super lucky to see a spot right when I entered. It was my first time coming to tender greens, I had been avoiding this restaurant like the plague because the name sounds like the only serve salad and I am not a huge fan of salad at all. LOL. but thankfully they serve tons of other dishes as well. This restaurant has an assembly line sort of deal and its great because you can see how all your food is made. The special of the day was a Cuban pork panini, we ordered 2 of those with a salad, and some chips. My friends also ordered the fried chicken, and a steak salad. The food came out in about 10 minutes, which wasn’t that long considering how busy they were. They use actual dishes here so the trays are very heavy. I enjoyed my salad, but did not like the chips at all they had a little bbbq flavor but other than that just not good. My panini was delicious though !!! Super fatty pieces of pork. I also tried the mashed potatoes and fried chicken, the mashed potatoes here are melt in your mouth. The fried chicken was super tender and crispy too, too bad they only give you 3 miniscule pieces. I’m going to be adding this restaurant to one of my top affordable lunches in the walnut Creek area… I do wish their portions of meat were larger though, considering they do charge slightly higher prices.

Fresh and simple, with just enough options to keep all sorts of eaters happy. Both my «meat and potatos» boyfriend and my «weekday vegetarian» self had enjoyed the whole experience, and it was even the former who had reccomended it to me! A faux buffet line showcasing all the food, getting you excited about your meal to come. Quick service too, so you can enjoy your food faster. We had the fried chicken and the falafel(should be easy to guess who got what), and mine happily came with a fresh salad. My falafel was a bit on the dry side, but still very tasty. Good drink and desert selection to complete the meal.

You can never go wrong with a good hot plate from Tender Greens. My new favorite at this chain is the kale salad. I’ve also had their new menu item, falafel, twice now; which shows that it’s got a thumbs up in my book. This location does not offer online ordering as of yet, but you can still call in your order if you’re on the run. There is also a parking lot behind the restaurant that offers 1 hour free.

Pros: the food is straight up delicious and you feel healthy too(which is rare where you feel both). I love their buttermilk chicken, albacore tuna(which is a bit rare like sashimi), butter lettuce, mashed potatoes, and their tender steak. My favorite drink of all time is their agua fresco(usually strawberry but apparently the fruit choices are seasonal… Today being watermelon and cantaloupe). You seat yourself so no need for tip! WIN. Cons: with the healthy wave, the portions are on the smaller side. If the portions were a bit bigger, it would be perfect. Also due to he lack of size the price seems a bit too pricey. Overall: one of my favorite chain restaurants for sure! Delicious food, nice ambience, and friendly staff!

More praise for Tender Greens! That chipotle chicken salad, tho. For reals! They don’t just stop at salads. You have the pick of the litter here with sandwiches, salads and plates from vegetarian, fried chicken to steak options. Let’s talk about the whole experience. Large, bright and airy. For a chain, this place is super rustic chic. You order then go down the line, pay, take a number and find a seat. We opted for the outside seating, which might I add is plentiful. The salad was filled with the most juicy, tender roasted chicken, a ton of avocado and a cilantro lime dressing that was both light and flavorful. I wiped that plate clean, left full and all for $ 11.50. Not cheap by any means, but for those high quality ingredients and great flavor profile, definitely great value. It’s honestly very hard to believe that this is a chain. Definitely a great lunch option in Walnut Creek when looking for some upscale eats in a fast casual environment with affordable prices.(That’s some jargon if I’ve read some!)

My brother in law had told me about Tender Greens knowing that I love buttermilk fried chicken. For just $ 11.50, you pick a protein, how you want it(on sandwich, with mashed potatoes, or on a full sized salad), those who choose the sandwich or hot plate also gets a choice of a side simple salad. Unlike most side salads that are just lettuce, you can choose kale, arugula, baby spinach, etc. With the high quality of ingredients, it is a great affordable value that was satisfying. However, if you are a big portions type of person, be warned that the protein portion size is what you are suppose to be eating and not necessarily what many people are use to eating. With that said, not sure about the consistency of the size of protein. My cousin and her friend came back in February and their buttermilk fried chicken of one drumstick and little piece of breast seemed small(looked like ½ of what I got) whereas I was happy with what I received. Not sure if it is just drumstick vs. thigh situation or not.
