Awful. Service was poor. When the food finally arrived, it was overcooked and tasteless. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants. No longer. The best thing about our meal was the drinks. It was obvious that something has changed, management-wise. We could not wait to leave.

Am a native of Walnut Creek but have been out of the area and haven’t been to Lark Creek in about 2 years. Had a real nice Saturday evening seating at 5:30PM and the food and service was excellent! The corn chowder was to die for. The fried calamari was super tasty and fresh. The meat loaf, prime rib, and penne pasta with large gulf prawns were all delicious and the desserts really topped everything off on a high note. I especially enjoyed the vanilla bean crème brûlée that was accompanied with a hot cappuchino. Walking out of the restaurant, I had to ask myself and my family why it took us 2 years to stop by again. We refuse to let that happen again. The food and service is just too incredibly good!

Fair pricing, great atmosphere, amazing gourmet food. I love coming here on date nights. It’s semi casual to formal. Dress up of you come here, it adds to the feel of the place. You don’t have to though. I am simple. The roast beef is amazing and so is the salmon. You can’t go wrong. Everything I have tried has met my expectations. Lark Creek is part of my core places to go out to.

We’ve been coming to Lark Creek for over 15 years, on average once a week(approx 780 times) It truly is my favorite restaurant, nice décor, great ambiance and delicious comfort food! They also have a nice happy hour that is not too crowded The staff are so nice, they always remember our names and our favorite drinks. Kirk is a kick, an old school Chicago style bartender, Lee and Lilian are always so sweet and gracious, the cooks always smile and wave and the hostesses(Madeline) are always so lovely. Josh the new general manager is the«icing on the cake» he really pulls out all the stops. He certainly has a way to make his regulars feel even more special. The pot roast just melts in your mouth, the Mac-n-cheese is delish, and butterscotch pudding is to die for(they just posted the recipe on FB) ;) Caesar salad with white anchovies, the way it should be! I love Lark Creek!!!

I was here for a business lunch. Nice atmosphere, service was attentive and my much was yummy. I ordered the chicken salad wrap with a side salad and iced tea. Plenty of food for me. My only negative here was how often they filled up our water and iced teas. Rather than asking they would start pouring. I kept having to say no more. It just bugs me and is very wasteful. I hope they stop that offices and just simply ask before pouring.

We went for Mother’s Day brunch. They sat us near window which was nice. Ordered a Bloody Mary that was good, but small. We had carrot ginger soup, but it was overwrought with ginger flavor. The calamari was good not great. Southern fried chicken is there specialty but it was dry and I couldn’t eat it. The Steelhead sandwich was very bland. The Huevos Rancheros was delicious. Burger with fries was so-so and they served us cold fries. It took a very long time to get our entrees. The staff was pleasant and we liked our server. She was great. Overall I’d say it was. B– experience and pricey for what we got.

Nice place in downtown Walnut. Probably more like 3.5 stars. Ambience was nice, good menu and appetizer of Calamari. But sadly the Paella was way over cooked with a thick tough crust on it and a rubberized chicken thigh plonked on top. Shame as my wife’s Halibut was nice. We will try again once.

Went for a lunch with my friend, both of us visitors in the area. Fantastic service with a smile, pastrami sandwich to die for, substituted sweet potato fries with no problem for the potato salad. Friend had a lovely burger cooked EXACTLY to her medium rare request. Clean bathrooms, friendly hostess, we would go again for sure.

Have loved this place for 20+ years; nice setting, fresh & well-made food, and personable service. Today was different… Even with the Easter crowds, Lark Creek was even better than usual. The energy and the service were some of the best I’ve seen in Walnut Creek as of late. Food: Me = Salad with a side of grilled steelhead salmon(5 stars) crisp, fresh, bright flavors with just enough«healthy» to consider dessert. Hubby = Breakfast Bread Basket(full of pastries) and an Omelette plate. Not much conversation from his side as he cleaned his plate. 8-year Old = Love the connection and attention from our server. French toast and fresh fruit from the kids menu($ 7) Plus a side of bacon. Ate every bite without prompting and even ordered more fruit. I could go on about how great our meal was and how much we enjoyed the little things like never having to ask for refill on water, etc. and having a really attentive bus staff, but mostly it was just the energy and the feeling at Lark Creek today. We had so much fun! The Hubby and I are already thinking about when we’ll go back. The Mac&Cheese is calling my name…

Lark Creek is one of my fav restaurants in Walnut Creek. My husband and I have been there many times and it’s just always great! I highly recommend: — Sautéed button mushroom — Lobster jumbo(only on Friday) — Baby kale salad(I usually add grilled chicken) — Roasted chicken — Steelhead Well I can list down more because the food is really delicious there. Also if the weather is good enough, definitely try to eat at their patio outside. You will love it.

WHATHAPPENED? This used to be one of our favorite places to come. Now, there are so many better choices available up and down the street. Apparently there’s new ownership, new management, and a new head chef. All of that shows in the cutting of corners. The staff who remain seem to be in mourning, as well. It’s been a couple of months since the changes and no one seems happy. They’re all polite and don’t say much, but what they don’t say speaks volumes. The food is good(and it used to be great). The service, while pleasant, is over-taxed and under-attentive. There’s no longer any sense of fun or engagement. There’s no sense of pride in the food. In the past I would have given them five stars. They’ve fallen… a lot. What a shame.

Brunch yesterday was good, but sadly the experience was far from polished and I really didn’t find any value. They offer a really beautiful and large ambiance inside and ample seating outdoors which is actually the best part of the restaurant. Food was tasty, I just don’t think it quite lived up to the price and the service didn’t. Let’s get it out there: sitting outside on Main St. in Walnut Creek is delightful. My omelette was good and tasty! Sadly, at $ 14 it was definitely over priced. If service matched the prices, I could justify a little more, but as I mentioned, although our server was nice, it didn’t match the price of a high end spot. My friend’s meal of eggs, potatoes and protein came without protein which we didn’t realize until we got home; that’s pretty sloppy. No jam available for toast, etc… A lot of small details that add up especially when your pretty small brunch without booze comes out to $ 40. I did spy a great looking burger($ 16) and salad, so there’s that. Definitely a nice Walnut Creek spot that I look forward to returning and giving a more substantive meal a try. However, wrong footing with brunch and I’d probably not return for my morning meal.

Located in downtown Walnut Creek, Lark Creek is an easy place to walk past. And maybe you should do that… Steph and I were quickly sat and opted to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful Sunday it was. The menu for brunch was small and I was trying to be somewhat healthy so I opted for the three egg scramble. 1) We never heard the specials. We overheard the table next to us be served by someone else and he told them the special. Which sounded better than what we ordered. 2) The service was slow. Maybe the girl was new. I don’t know but she definitely did not have it together or seem to know what she was doing. :/The man to the left of us was waiting for someone to meet him. He was there for a while and eventually went inside to be sat in the other person’s section of the patio. You know, the attentive one. 3)The food was okay. I ordered a scramble with eggs, chicken Apple sausage, and potatoes. Uhm… they forgot my sausage. While the healthy side of me thinks that’s probably for the best, we just did a 60 min class at Flywheel and I needed that protein with my eggs. I may as well have just ordered a side of eggs and potatoes. The burger and salad the table next to us had looked so much better than our measly brunch. 4) After tip, it was like a $ 40OKAY brunch… where we weren’t event drinking or having coffee! Way. Over. Priced. While I’m happy and so grateful that I was able to spend quality time with Steph… I would not go back there or suggest it to my friends and family. 2.5 stars overall because my potatoes were cool and it’s kind of hard to mess up scrambled eggs.

Reserved table for 4 on Valentines Day for brunch to celebrate my mom’s 81st birthday. Seated promptly in a pretty room, but turned out to be loud due to full seating and perhaps too many hard surfaces that bounce sound. Super friendly waitress, we order and food comes promptly. All around food only ‘ok’. Hamburger with cold fries, Paella rice a little gummy, Eggs Benedict not only a bit cold, but missing the pulled pork! I had the Eggs Benedict and didn’t realize until later that I was missing one of the main ingredients?! It came with lukewarm potatoes and cut up apple that maybe was part of a fruit salad since there was 1 piece of pineapple, could there be a less expensive fruit on my plate? The strangest thing is, that I spoke with our waitress away from the table about dessert, that it was my mom’s birthday… the selection came out with no fanfare. Kinda disappointed with our experience at a top dollar spot.

I treated a good college friend to Lark Creek for lunch on Tuesday and it was awesome. The Manager, Cathy, was so welcoming and sat us in a booth. We actually had a choice to sit anywhere, but the booth was the perfect table. Our Server, Nate, couldn’t be more accommodating… he mentioned a few Lark Creek Specials and best sellers for us to choose from!!! My friend had the Steelhead Lunch Plate and I enjoyed the Steelhead Sandwich with sweet potato fries. BOTHDELICIOUSBTW. I don’t even know why we ordered dessert, but WEDID. The Butterscotch Pudding was absolutely ”HEAVEN”. HAHAHA. Nate even complimented dessert with house made caramels. KEEPUPTHEGOODWORK. We’ll be back… soon.

Our dining experience was a pathetic after being recommended by a friend. On 1÷15÷16 my wife and I had the roasted half chicken and bacon wrapped meat loaf specials. Quality was very disappointing, except for the butternut squash soup, as it was otherwise no better than Denny’s. We both ended up with heart burn. The crème brûlée we had as dessert should have been given a different name because it was botched by the baker. What should have been a hard caramel crust actually mixed with the custard creating sort of a mush. And besides being hor d’ oeuvre size, it was almost tasteless. The total for the two of us was over $ 100 which we expected but we also expected quality. In the future we will say with the tried and true Il Fornaio a few blocks away. .

Was recently in downtown walnut creek and my wife and I thought we would give this place a try. We walked in, no one was at the hostess stand. A little later someone walked by and said someone would be with us shortly. A little more waiting and finally we were seated without a word from the hostess. Then we sit. And wait for someone to come by. And wait some more. The manager was standing right near our table socializing. In the duration of our wait we learned were the hostess was — she was delivering food to tables. Eventually we just left. I tried let the manager know why as we left, but he seemed wholly uninterested. This place needs to get its front of house in order. On a positive note, the food others were eating looked great.

went out with girls for dinner. We loved the service and food! We had a waitress named Amy she was fantastic. I had Saturday’s special prime rib perfectly cooked. I could have done without twice baked potato but spinach was to die for. The ceaser salad wonderful and the butternut squash soup was very good. To top it all off, dessert was incredible we had a combo of mini selections and butterscotch pudding. I will be back for sure!

Great Walnut Creek staple. Lark Creek is one of our go-to restaurants for brunch/lunch/dinner whenever we are in the Walnut Creek area. We have been to Lark Creek several times and we haven’t really been disappointed. And we still keep going! So far we’ve ordered the following: roasted butternut squash soup, calamari, wood oven baked flatbread, baby kale salad, caesar salad, ahi tuna burger, scrambled eggs, southern fried chicken salad, penne pasta, onion rings, truffle fries, and sweet potato fries, and the prime rib. The food is well cooked, tasty, and the service is excellent. Obviously, we’ll be back again!

Main dishes that we ordered here were the double cut pork chop and the paella. Their paella is not the best but still it’s commendable. Their pork chop is something else. Damn it was so good. Those two dishes went well together. It took a little time to be served but it was worth the wait. Was very pleased with how our server rendered her services to us. She was very attentive and always had a smile on her face.

We met up for dinner with some friends here on a Saturday evening. This place gets pretty busy, so it helps to make a reservation. They also have BYOB, but there is a $ 20 corkage fee per bottle. I tried their scallops and it was cooked just right. But only one side was seared. My husband got the steelhead and he enjoyed it. Our friends ordered, the meatloaf, the new york steak, and the paella. They all seemed to enjoy their meals. Overall, the food is good here. It just take a while to get your entrees, so order some appetizers to hold you over. I would suggest the tamale pancakes. Service was attentive and friendly.

One of the best restaurants in Walnut Creek. The manager Matt is very nice and very knowledgeable about the menu and choices to pair beer, wine or hard alcohol with. The specials are always on point and the menu is capable of suiting any diet. I like the outdoor seating and the feeling of an up class restaurant in the middle of a few bars and shopping.

I’ve only been to Lark Creek WC twice and both times had great dinner experiences. Recently, I came during the weekday for a group dinner. We were celebrating a friend’s bday, so I made sure to make a reservation. For some reason, if you have a party of 7+, you have to reserve using a credit card via Open Table. However, if you call, they do not ask you for a cc#. Either way, highly recommend having a ressie even during the week since there were several large parties besides ours. Our waiter was exceptional and very tentative to our group. He made sure we got our orders in before the other large groups since we arrived slightly earlier than those tables. Wait staff was professional 100% the entire evening. Food was generally quite good and portions were substantial. –Fresh Monterey Calamari: Not greasy and battered just perfectly. Well executed. Love the tentacles. –Alaskan Halibut: Flaky filet of halibut, although very very slightly overcooked. Was perfect accompanying the chopped heirloom tomato & cucumber salad, which gave it some extra moisture. –Calf’s Liver Steak: Tried a bite of my friend’s entrée. I wish I would have been more adventurous and ordered it instead! The liver was very tender and tasty. If you are a meat eater, you will also like that it comes with 2 large crispy strips of bacon. This dish is the Wednesday weekly special. –Cookies & Cream Cheesecake: I’m not usually a cheesecake fan(unless it’s from Zanze’s), but tried a bite and was surprised to taste how light and fluffy it was. Recommend if anyone likes cookies & cream. –Tiramisu: Very good. –Seasonal Fruit Cobbler: This dessert was given to the bday boy with HBD written in chocolate and a candle to make a wish. Cobbler was much larger than the other two desserts. Fruit included peaches and berries. Can’t go wrong with hot cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Total tab was about $ 445 for 7 people. This also included corkage fee since we brought our own bottle of wine and some at the table ordered cocktails as well. Overall, nice place to go with a group, with a friend or date. Can be family friendly as well. Restaurant is well kept, clean and inviting. Service exceptional. Parking structure is connected to the same building as Lark Creek.

We began the evening with their outdoor dining… it was a pleasant night to dine out… Our waitress was very prompt and courteous, our glasses were never empty and offered up some great wine selections to pair with what we were planning on eating We started dinner with a couple of cesar salads… nothing special there… then we had the specials of the day… My wife had the half chicken and I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf. Her chicken was really juicy and flavorful, highly recommend it! The meatloaf was tasty and flavorful but a bit dry for my liking. The mashed potatoes were good and seasoned well. We ended the evening with crème brulle and a cheesecake… both were excellent. I would definitely repeat… if you can, eat outdoors… great atmosphere!

My Fiancé and I came here because our fantastic real-estate agent gave us a gift card when our home purchase closed escrow. We had the card for over a year, mostly because neither one of us was all that excited about going. After all, where we live, you don’t hear about Lark Creek. So we made reservations on line, which was very convenient and easy to do. When our night rolled around, we headed out, not expecting too much. Hopefully a good meal and a nice time. Parking was super easy. We did go on a Monday evening and found parking right out front. We only had to pay for an hour because the meters turn off at 8PM. Score! We were greeted pretty quickly and our note about wanting a booth and to sit beside each other was graciously extended. «How’d they know?!» my Fiancé exclaimed. «It was in our reservation notes. I added the request just to see if they actually read them!» And they do. Nice bonus tip. Jason was our waiter. He came buy quickly and started to go through his script regarding the restaurant and how they buy local and use in season veggies for the freshest dishes. He offered up the full bar if we didn’t see a cocktail in the menu to our liking. We did order our personal favorites that were not in the menu. I had an Amaretto Sour and my Fiancé had a separator. My drink tasted so much better after I stirred it. I’ve never had to do that before, but it was still a delicious drink. Fiancé was very happy with his drink, but had to admit that he liked mine better. For our appetizer we ordered the Tamale Pancake. Oh Yum! We split this and everything else we ordered. The pancake reminded me of polenta with grilled chicken in a sweet spicy mole sauce. Then topped with crispy tortilla strips. Very well done. Next we had the Fuji apple salad with walnuts and blue cheese. What was really nice was that they served this on separate plates, even though we ordered one salad. Lots of blue cheese, walnuts and apple bits. Very good. Then came our ½ chicken, grilled with grilled potatoes and asparagus and our side of Mac n cheese. Again, we were served on separate plates although we ordered one. The chicken was delicious, the potatoes were all around crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside and the asparagus was tender. The Mac n cheese was also delicious. Jason made sure we were taken care of by checking in on us from time to time. We noticed that every staff member was taking care of all the patrons. From the hostess to the bus-boy. It didn’t seem to matter what the job title was, everyone was pitching in and taking care of all the tables. We had such a fun, nice and delicious time. We’re both really glad that we had the privilege to try Lark Creek. We’re looking forward to coming here again.

I’ve been to Lark Creek several times for lunch and always experienced good food with a touch of «uptight» service. Tonight, however, was completely different. I went in, sat at the bar and had the best time. Kirk the bartender was hilarious – the type of person that you feel like you’ve know forever. He was attentive, unpretentious and honestly, a breath of fresh air. Such different service(in a good way) than any other past visit and he alone is five stars. My chicken salad was a tad pricey, but completely yummy nonetheless. Thanks for a great meal and putting a smile on my face!

We had business in the area and were starving afterwards! We decided on Walnut Creek because of all the shopping and eateries. We walked around and decided to give this place a try. From the outside… you can see the the beautiful layout and décor. Outside seating looked inviting but the cool breeze was too much for us even though the sun was out!!! We did not have reservations and the place was hopping during lunch. After a few minutes of waiting time they found a table for us. The lady was full of smiles and asked how we were and made us feel very welcome from the start. This is a very nice upscale place to enjoy with your partner or a girls day out. Nicely decorated feeling comfy. With that being said… for starters… sipping wine is a must!(Makes you feel like you’re in Paris) lol. They bring you bread which is DELISH!!! Our waitress was very upbeat and full of knowledge of their menu items. She told us what was good and what was popular. After our order was taken, she came out several times to make sure we were ok and if we needed anything. I had their meatloaf and it came with broccoli. My meatloaf was good and juicy. I like broccoli but whatever juices they cooked it in… not so much. Great place to also people watch, too. Their bathroom was also well maintained. A big PLUS in my book!

On Saturday, 1÷17÷15, my girlfriend and I along with another couple ate at Lark Creek Walnut Creek for dinner. My girlfriend and I have dined at the San Francisco Lark Creek several times. This was our first time dining at the Walnut Creek location. Atmosphere: The restaurant is very nice. It’s a nice restaurant for any occasion. There were hardwood floors and wooden tables throughout the restaurant. The kitchen was open so you could see the cooks prepping and making food. Food: I ordered the Yankee Pot Roast(roasted root vegetables & garlic mashed potatoes) and a side of Mac N Cheese. The Yankee Pot Roast was decent. Our server kept saying how delicious and good it was but it wasn’t anything to write home about. The beef tasted good. It was tender and meaty like your classic pot roast but I feel like the sauce was off. It tasted okay but it kind of over took the meat. The roasted root vegetables were just okay, nothing special. The garlic mashed potatoes lacked in flavor and were bland. The Lark Creek Steak(San Francisco location) Pot Roast is way better! The Mac N Cheese was really good! I liked it a lot. It was simple but good. The pasta shells were cooked perfectly. My girlfriend ordered the Filet Mignon(potato-leek cake, creamed spinach with bacon & red wine butter.) She like her dish a lot. She said the Filet Mignon was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was very juicy and tender. She said the potato-leek cake tasted really good as well. My girlfriend ordered the Crème Brulee for dessert. She liked the small portion size of the Crème Brulee. She said it was really good. My friend and his wife ordered the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf(garlic mashed potatoes & broccoli rabe.) They both liked their dish a lot. They said the Meatloaf tasted really good. Service: Our waiter Jeff was very nice and attentive throughout our dinner. He had a great attitude. Our waters were always topped off. Overall: Lark Creek Walnut Creek is a nice looking restaurant with decent food. My main course(Yankee Pot Roast) was lacking. I don’t think this restaurant is worth coming back to even though the Mac N Cheese was really good. I’ll stick with Lark Creek Steak in San Francisco. It’s way better than this Lark Creek.
