The staff here is the absolute best. Everyone behind the bar is amazing and attentive, even when this place is PACKED. Love this place!

I’ve heard of Tiki Toms for years and had never been here before. We stopped in for a predrink before dinner over at Fleming’s. I’ve heard very mixed reviews from many different people. It was busy when we went in. People were spread all over the place so it wasn’t necessarily crowded. The bartenders were able to accommodate everyone fast and efficiently. I ordered a Gin & Tonic and he ordered a Bacardi & Diet Coke. Here’s when a red flag went up for me, they didn’t have regular Bacardi. I’m still not sure if it was because they were out or if they just don’t carry it? We had one round and made our way out. Its old and looks like a used up bar inside. I’m not sure what I was expecting but maybe something nicer for downtown Walnut Creek. The other thing I thought was weird was the fountain in the front with fish. All I could think about was how many drunks have fallen over into the fountain over the years.

Tiki Toms was awesome. I went for the first time on 1÷27÷16. It was crazy loud but the crowd was amazing… and this was a Wednesday. Lots of kareoke(every Wednesday) and the drinks were strong, bar tenders were friendly. I did not try the menu but others say the food is good. For a small bar, it’s definitely my new favorite place in the east bay.

Divebar-esque with the friendliest bartenders ever. Always! Strong drinks, good selection of bar bites. The people watching is pretty amazing as well. Love it here!

Very Loud bar, very strong drinks, very small place. But, the servers are really nice with handling a large and rockus group. I did like the outside seating as well. A small patio, but it was fun and everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves. When in the area, we will definitely look to stop by again.

I feel that I have to drop my rating by one star. The staff, drinks, food and people are wonderful, love the guys up front and will come back. It’s a regular stop on my tour. I’m dropping a star because of the karaōke. Now I enjoy karaōke, OK I’m a dork to admit it but everybody has something and this is mine. Anyway I also don’t really drink all that much. Health reasons mainly that and I don’t like hangovers. Point being I don’t usually drink. If you’ve hung out with me you know this. I was at karaōke on a Wednesday and my good friend offered to get me a drink. I figured hell I’ll grab a cocktail and then switch to iced tea or diet coke or something like that. So I have a drink and sign up. I go up and it’s not the right song. No biggie, but rather than tell me what is going on the DJ just says the next guys name and ushers me off the stage. Then the woman running the laptop I guess you’d call her the co DJ is completely unapologetic and say«You wrote down the wrong song». Really? Come on man really? I wrote down the wrong song. No way you could have possibly entered a wrong number or letter amongst the hundreds of songs you choose from. Anyway I get up and crush my song(not being arrogant, I just happened t nail it). I get off stage and on my way i go to drop another song in. At this point the woman behind the laptop accosts me and says«You cant sing anymore unless you buy a drink». I was kind of stunned and a little confused. I said«I just had a drink(if you reference the first paragraph you’ll see my friend bought me a drink). She proceeds to go to the bartender and verify my story only to come back at me saying that I lied about having a drink. Are you kidding me? Just to hammer home the point I went and purchased a diet coke. But seriously are you kidding me? Unacceptable. Not sure if these people think they’re running some kind of broadway spectacular, but seriously you need to recognize. The real shame is the crowd is great there unfortunately I won’t go back on Wednesdays. It’s not like there’s a shortage of karaōke in the East Bay during the week.

I didn’t realize there was a Tiki Bar in Walnut Creek, smack downtown by the parking garage on Olympic Blvd. I’m used to visiting the Forbidden Island in Alameda, Ca. It was time for one of those Friday Company after work parties. Twenty of us came to celebrate a graduation of a colleague. Lots of Hawaiian Tiki Bar décor, where are the aloha shirts on the locals. Tiki’s Toms features appetizers such as Hawaiian ribs, terayaki chicken and coconut shrimp. I only tried the coconut shrimp and it very good. Great atmosphere and those bar tenders, very friendly, great to look and pour nice drinks. I saw 4 of those Monkey Bowls consumed, yes the one with the Bacardi 151 in it. I think I have to visit this place more often. Tiki Tom’s has a full bar and a large selection of beers. I saw alot of Pabst Blue Ribbon ordered. My friends and I were drinking Kona Longboards in true Hawaiian spirit.

Came here on a Friday night with my cousin as a date and I’m glad we did. I’ve always walked by this place but never actually went inside to check it out. We ordered the Fire Bowl drink(it actually had fire in the middle) and it was so delicious. My first sip of the fire bowl you can taste the alcohol but at the same time all the fruit mask up the alcohol taste so it’s not too bad, quite refreshing actually. We ordered also ordered the variety appetizer and it was a lot of food for 2 people which consisted of ribs, chicken wings, egg rolls, and fried onions. The atmosphere here is pretty cool and the employees here are fast and friendly. You can definitely tell who the owner is as he went to each table a couple of times asking if everyone was fine and thanking everyone for checking the place out.

Randomly came on a Friday night after having this placed bookmarked for awhile. Got the Mai Tai Fire Bowl that was cool and tasted good. The owner and staff checked on us frequently and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. Everyone was super friendly & by the time we left, it was packed!

+ Live music on a Thursday night + Pretty happenin + 3 dollar mystery shots + Affordable drinks + Attended to quickly by bartenders — Way too packed in — Dark — Loud — One bathroom Didn’t eat so can’t comment on food or dining experience. All in all it’s a decent place to make a stop but I wouldn’t plan a night there like I would many of the more swanky wine and beer spots throughout town.

Cool spot except for the creepy old stalker that works there. Supposedly working yet sneaks out to the patio to slam 6 or 7 Coors Lights then creeps on all the girls, harasses the female bartenders and generally ruins what could be a good time. It’s unnerving and weird to see him leering at everyone like Mr. Burns from the Simpsons.

Tiki Tom’s was a meeting place while we waited for our 8PM dinner reservations at Ruth’s Chris. We were a party of 8 and shared their Monster Mai Tai Fire bowl. A lot of us enjoyed their cocktail drinks and even took home a couple tiki mugs which you could purchase at an additional cost. Great place to go with a small group of friends. Any larger and you are like huddling around a table and grabbing chairs that aren’t already taken. I would definitely suggest Tiki Tom’s as a great meeting place or a place to wait out for your reservations.

Well it is a dive bar. My parents have both came here separately and had some interesting experiences. When my dad came here with a friend, the bar tender asked them if they wanted hookers and then when they declined asked if they were lovers… When my mom came here with her friend they were hit on by college kids that were probably around my age.(My mom is in her 50’s) Nonetheless I had some pretty low expectations. Came with a group of friends. Our waitress was super nice, my drink was delicious. Got the«ah that’s good» and it took me awhile to finish. Definitely not one of those cocktails that are ¾ filled with ice and take 4 sips to finish. So overall not a bad time. I wouldn’t really want to spend more than an hour here though. For some reason half the place has carpet flooring which is kinda gross. Made the place smell like feet. Oh and free chips and salsa! Great for drunk munchies

We had come here after an Elite Unilocal Event down the street with a couple other Unilocalers that we had just met at the event. Between the four of us, we didn’t really know what bar was open on a Monday night, but we obviously jumped on Unilocal and Tiki Tom’s came up. Downtown WC is pretty empty on a Monday night, lol. I didn’t know if we were going to the right place, but when I heard the music blaring from inside and saw the décor… I knew we had to be in the right place. Like others have said, this place is a dive bar in the middle of high end shopping stores. I think that it’s a weird fit… it looks like it’s been there the longest and everything else was built around it. Anyways, after we were carded(awe, so nice… makes me feel young again), we headed inside. The place was a lot smaller than I initially envisioned. We saw the two girls that we had just become friends with sitting at a table right next to the stage. It was open mic night? Open performance night? Basically, people who play instruments and sing were performing that night. It was a little loud for my liking and I’m one to usually listen to music loudly. Maybe we were just too close to the speakers. It wasn’t crowded by any means, but it wasn’t dead. It seemed as if some of the performers brought along some friends to support them, which is always nice. When my friend and I arrived, we just ordered a drink at the bar. We failed to realize that waitresses walk about and take orders. We also didn’t see that they have amazing fruity drink selections until we sat down with our basic pineapple and vodka drinks. Oh well, maybe next time I’ll order a fishbowl drink. If you’re into drinking and in downtown WC, I could see visiting Tiki Tom’s. If you do, do me a favor and order the fishbowl drink. Let me know how it is.

This little dive bar is underestimated! It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but on the inside — it’s definitely a PARTY! It can get pretty crowded inside(and loud!). Hip hop music. Décor inside is pretty cool! Lots of «island influences». Plenty of TVs inside as well! They usually have some sort of sports on. Seating at the bar or there are also regular tables and high top tables. Take your pick! It can get a little hard to find a seat in here if you get here a little late. It’s one of the few bars in WC that are open a little later(past midnight). Came here with my boyfriend and my friends and got a fishbowl(the one with Nerds and Swedish Fish inside). It was different! Came in a plastic«fishbowl»(and pineapple juice! That wasn’t listed on the menu and my friend is allergic to pineapples). The server was nice enough to make her a free drink because of that!(+1 star). That was very thoughtful of her! I’ll have to come back to check out the live band and happy hour specials!

In my opinion it’s the best bar in Walnut Creek. The bar keeps are all great and always make a perfect drink. Happy hour is the best $ 3 wells everyday; also crazy good slider on Mondays and Thursdays; and I can’t forget about taco Tuesday’s. simply put the food and drinks is the bomb :-D Due to the live band on Monday it can get kinda noisy. That didn’t stop me from going to get their sliders that night. Their just too good. What more can I say this bar is great…

I’ll forewarn that I only tried this place once on a Sunday afternoon but it was pretty mediocre when it comes to Tiki bars. The décor looked like a normal bar with a few strings of white Christmas lights and some bamboo/grass thatch. That was about as tropical as it got. The bartender who served us was very sweet and was patient while we asked questions of the drink menu. However, the drinks are weak and over priced. I expect to pay more for tropical drinks but I also expect to get what I pay for when it comes to booze! I didn’t try the food but it smelled good! Maybe that is a redeeming quality?

What happened??! This used to be my favorite place but slowly they keep changing things and my last experience was the worst. I used to recommend this place to everyone I knew that was looking for somewhere to go in Walnut Creek. First, they used to put rock candy sticks in their mai tais. It was such a cute touch and when it went away I was a little disappointed but no big deal. But now they got rid of their pineapple macaroni salad??! What? Seriously? Your a Hawaiian restaurant and bar and it was one of the best things on the menu. The food has definitely gone down hill in the past couple of years. To make the whole thing worse, I came here on a Friday evening with my boyfriend for dinner before a movie. It’s one of the convenient things about this place — being so close to the theater. True, it was a Friday but it was dinner time(6 p.m.) and the music was blaring so incredibly loud my ears were starting to bleed. It wasn’t a dance club party time. There were other groups of people around us also having dinner. I had to literally yell across the table to my boyfriend to even try to have a convo and after awhile I just gave up and we ate our food and got out as quickly as we could. I miss the days when Joel was the bartender, the music was chill(and a lot less loud) and you could get some good food, a yummy cocktail and have a convo with friends. Soon they will probably take the ribs off the menu as well.
