I went to eat at Bob’s Big Boy in Walnut, CA on 6÷26÷2016 and it was closed. Stopped here many times when going to see hockey games down in Anaheim. So sad :(

Very sad to see this location closed. I knew it was inevitable, but had high hopes that it would get a renovation. Unfortunately this was the last diner in Diamond Bar! A year ago we had Cocos and Ranch House… years before DB even had a Sizzler and a Dennys… now just an endless choice of Asian cuisine… Don’t get me wrong, I like it… I just dont like it being my first and only choice when eating locally. Back to Bob’s. never had a bad experience, place was outdated but the staff was always welcoming… Always enjoyed the breakfast!

Amazing breakfast buffet! Definitely would recommend the breakfast buffett. Quality of the food is amazing. They have a fruit station where the fruit is fresh and sweet. If I can eat there everyday I would!

This was my first time at Bob’s. I was excited because everyone I know speaks highly of this location. Went for the breakfast buffet. Was not impressed. Food was situated oddly. Biscuits were next to syrup, clarified butter and what I think was oat meal. The gravy(for a box/can) was on the other side of the table. Nothing was labeled so I just kinds winged it anyways. Bacon was great! Eggs were like warm, potatoes smelled BAD and tasted that way. The cinnamon French toast was good, the regular French toast was hard. Syrup was cold, milk for cereal was just below warm. The chef brought out new bacon and put it right on top of the old bacon; that’s not following national food handling standards. The décor is just sad. Many booths are ripped and have duct tape on them. The bathroom(ladies, idk about men’s) has been seriously neglected. Broken tiles, no covers on the TP, and fixtures that have been eaten away by calcium. I don’t think I’ll be returning, at least not for breakfast.

Worst service ever. Got seated immediately but no service. Had to walk up to the counter and ask twice and still no one came. Not even to ask if we wanted water or to simply greet our table. Waited over 30 min before walking out. McDonald’s across the street has better service than this place.

Did not get the opportunity to order for about 20min because where we sat did not have a waiter/waitress providing services.

Food was horrible. Came here after church. Hoping to get a good and satisfying meal. Ordered the Buffett. Sausage was cold, bacon was like chewing rubber. Eggs were sitting in water. French toast was dried and hard. No butter for it either. Orange juice was watered down as well. I couldn’t finish my plate. I up and left. Absolutely awful. I will not be returning. Please try to avoid this place at all costs. Mc Donald’s is better then this place.

The burgers have always been soooo good, if you like the buns with a little butter. I craved Big Boy burgers on my first trimester of preggiehood with my eldest. Hence, fond memories of the burgs here. However today I tried their breakfast buffet for $ 8.99. Wasn’t real thrilled about it. A Mickey Dees(McDonalds) breakfast is much tastier. Service was great though and so that added to the extra star; otherwise it was a 2stars for taste.

One of the original Bob’s Big Boy locations. Several employees have been with this location for over 30 years. They still cook their food in the old Big Boy way and not the corporate way. Friendly staff, a nostalgic and clean restaurant, and my lunch included the absolute best Big Boy sandwich I’ve had in the last 20 years! This is the real deal!

It is Sunday night 11 pm and its showing here in Unilocal that they close at midnight… Well they are closed now… I drove from so far away and was craving a big boy combo… So I drove for nothing because these people decide they want to go home early and who cares about customers

Service was good. No complaints, but they should really check expiration dates before serving.

Really impressed. Friendly service. Friendly patrons. Bright and comfortable ambience. The breakfast Buffett was top notch. Good quality foods. Excellent eggs. Delicious Belgian waffles. Tortillas and this home made green chicken salsa thing which was bomb on top of the chorizo and eggs. The fruit selection was great. They had salad and veggies as well. Buffet was a big surprise. They have another breakfast option similar to the Denny’s build your own but cheaper and the food was superior quality. Tried the Big Boy burger my dad had the Best Cheeseburger In The World. Both were excellent. Gave a delicious desert for his birthday too.

Can’t give it a higher rating, although I like this place. This the Bob’s I remember from when I was a kid, this one and the one in Burbank. I wish the server had said something before shoving my arm out of the way with the plate. But big boy cheeseburger and fries. mmmm.

Was looking for a place nearby to have breakfast fellowship with a friend and was surprised to find that Bob’s Big Boy is still around. I can recall my childhood memories of Sunday breakfasts at the long-gone Irvine location. What I do not recall was the breakfast buffet option, which we both chose. Decent variety: both American and Mexican breakfast items. Few memorable things: Two kinds of French toast, one with cinnamon, and waffles with strawberry compote. Quality sub-par, but what should one expect here? Overall a pleasant surprise that there was even a buffet at all. With so many other restaurant options, it’s hard to compete, so I do give this relic of a restaurant credit for having survived all these years!

DONOTORDER Eggs Benedict or perhaps breakfast there. I am usually very tolerant and do not like to waste food but this place was horrible… If I ate one more bite, I would have puked my guts out. The server was VERYSLOW. The food looked like it was sitting on the counter for at least 30 minutes. Everything was cold or a little warm. Don’t think the place pass the health code requirement if that’s how they serve food. California Eggs Benedict was nothing but a horrible taste. Patty was very dry outside but when bite into it, it tasted mushy and strange taste. The hash browns were SO dry and stuck together, you could not even cut through with knife. The rest was REALLY gross… If I can choose«No Star», this place is it. Too bad as I never had a bad experience at Bob’s Big Boy in Norco.

The only reason why I know about this restaurant is by watching Austin Powers lol. I know they’re known for their burgers but I wasn’t feeling it today so I got the corned beef sandwich and my boyfriend got the Hawaiian chicken sandwich. The food was really tasty but typical of places like this. The décor and furnishings can use some updating. I know it’s supposed to have a diner feel but this place looked like it needed to be scrubbed the hell down. The staff was friendly and professional as well. If I come back I’ll try the burgers but I won’t expect it to be mind effing blowing.

Pros: 1. It’s good for what it’s worth. The food here is very affordable. There’s even a buffet option. 2. They play oldies from the 50’s and 60’s so you get that old diner experience. 3. It’s Bob’s Big Boy, a cultural icon! 4. Parking is plentiful. 5. Great service. 6. The menu looked so fresh and new with pictures. Cons: 1. The Big Boy Burger tastes worse than a McDonald’s Big Mac. 2. There was nothing super about the Super Big Boy Burger. 3. The salad was a bit too plain.

Post beach hunger had me craving for American food. Diner food to be exact! I dislike Ihop and Dennys so I don’t even entertain that. My go to is always the local diners. I live nearby this place. So why not? Walked in and it reminds me of the local diners in Texas. Very old décor but the old booth is comfy. Lol. I ordered their chili spaghetti and my bf ordered a burger. Our server was the sweetest lady ever! Too bad I didn’t get her name but I will probably remember her face for awhile! Our food came out and I had to take a bite out of my friends burger. UMM. Can you say BOMB? That burger is soo good! A classic American burger. I have nothing bad to say! My chili spaghetti wasn’t good nor was it bad. Maybe because I am use to Texas chili. Texas chili has a kick! Tomatoes, beans, bell peppers. This chili reminds me of the stuff they slap on the hot dogs at Sonics. Kinda nasty. :( The only things that saved it was the cheese. I like cheese. Okay. I lied. I loveeeee cheese. lol. I might be back but at the moment slightly unsure.

Dined here for a late dinner with my husband last month. It has been a while since I last saw a Bob’s Big Boy. The last time we dined at one was in Pasdena some years back, but unfortunately that location has closed down. Anyways, after we parked and walked into the restaurant, it was not before long that we were greeted by a hostess and seated at a booth. Our server was incredibly perky(especially for an evening shift, good for her!) and friendly. This is what we ordered: Triple– Decker Turkey Club Sandwich: This was definitely one oily turkey club sandwich, but that is expected at a diner. I ordered this sandwich on a tomato herb bread(as I had my choice between other selections that included rye or sourdough, cibatta, etc). The tomato herb bread kind of reminded me of a pizza and I really liked the taste of it with my turkey club. Definitely a tasty dinner(but not healthy by any means). This also came with fries. I was fine with just 2 sandwiches(my sandwich was cut in fours) and ate the fries. Side order of assorted vegetables– I wanted some vegetables so just thought I would get a side order of vegetables. Diners usually cook vegetables til they are rather soft and nearly mushy and this place was no exception to that(people don’t come to a diner ordering vegetables for a reason… but I still wanted my greens). Super Big Boy Burger: My husband ordered this and loved it. At first he didn’t think this would be a big burger but he got filled up after eating ¾th of the burger. He also ordered this with onion rings(you can also choose to order fries or another side order if desired). This burger was flavorful and made right. Strawberry Shake: My husband wanted to order a shake since we were at a diner(especially a Bob’s Big Boy diner). It was nice and thick and tasted authentic(meaning that you know it was made with milk, ice cream and the whole works… no skimping on calories here). I thought it was pretty heavy and sweet so I didn’t have much of it. My husband really enjoyed it and drank it all to the last drop. Service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is your typical diner, which adds to the nostalgia. Waiting to pay for our check was longer than I had wanted, but forgivable since everything else was wonderful. By the way, there is plenty of parking in the lot this restaurant is located in. There is also a Korean supermarket located in this plaza(name seems to escape me for the moment) and also Paris Baguette as well.
