The food is decent here. They are very generous with their chips and salsa. The portion size is big enough for two people to enjoy. I just had a bad experience paying at this restaurant. They charged me three times on my credit card. Had I not been scrolling through my credit card bill, I would have never noticed. Anyways, the manager of the restaurant was kind enough to help me resolve the issue but it was really inconvenient for me to spend time going back and forth to get it situated.

This is a «Americanized» Mexican restaurant. I ordered the steak picada with a few beers. The beans are well cooked, but the steak and chile was plain. The tomatoes tasted plain and the salsa was less than mild. I was more disappointed when I was questioned after asking for my 3rd beer. Some Indian looking lady questioned myself and friends and she leaned forward and looked at our eyes. We are grown adults and we know our limits. So if you like bad plain food, canned salsa, and being treated like a child come here.

This also use to be our favorite restaurant, but last few times we have gone was aweful. Cold food, nor tasting very good and portions are small… yucky I’m not going back!

Walk inside The Whole Enchilada in DB and it’s like entering a time machine. The restaurant looks like it has maintained its same appearance over the years, from the lighting to the seats everything remains the same. And, it might be the only dining establishment left in Diamond Bar where my family and I could be the only ethnically Asian people in a crowded restaurant, like diamond bar circa 1980’s. This place has a soft spot because of the free chips and salsa and the fried cinnamon sugar tortilla chips they serve for dessert. I don’t know why but any place that has free chips and salsa automatically has won over my heart. Yes, many other Mexican food establishment’s serve chips and salsa for free, but exactly how many of these restaurants exist in DB?(R.I.P Acapulco) The food and prices here are nothing to write home about. You are not making any east LA or South of San Diego gastronomical discoveries here, instead you’ll find food coated in cheese and sour cream which, ain’t that bad once in a while. Besides the food, the service is good and it really does have a neighborhood feel to it, something that’s harder and harder to find in DB. This place is 4 stars because I’m biased and there’s a sense of nostalgia every time I go. If you’re wanting«authentically inspired» Mexican food you should skip this place, but if you want big portions that fill you up and taste okay, this is a spot to check out.

Nostalgia. I used to eat here all the time with my family as a young boy and I ate here finally after a 10 year hiatus. It was good. Chips and salsa were tasty. Service was attentive and friendly. Environment was nice and clean. The food was good as well — nothing life changing — good and hearty though. Great local family joint to break the monotony of chain restaurants.

Wellllllll… Let’s be honest, not many choices around for Mexican Food. The place is very clean, well lit, and spacious. We came for breakfast. The chillaquillas were average. It’s not very authentic. The beans tasted like canned refried.

The food isn’t bad, the service is not bad either. The place is convenient one of the few Mexican restaurants in the area that I have seen. Just doesn’t wow when you are there.

Taste canned or from the microwave. Not a place I would back to. I thought it would be a great place at first but once the food hit my taste buds, it wasn’t much of taste anymore. The soups are tasteless and extremely salty. I’m Hispanic, Mexican in fact, and this is not authentic Mexican food.

So good we have been coming here for years and years! Very fast service even when it’s busy. Look for BOGO deals in the Entertainment book! Makes it even better. Mama Mia tacos are my favorite but I’ve tried many things here, including fajitas, enchiladas, chile rellenos, tamales, and taquitos! Never been disappointed.

I enjoyed free lunch here twice. However as much as I like Mexican food I’ve never payed for a meal here and I work up the street. I don’t think it’s due to the food or service, it’s the parking… why waste half my lunch time looking for parking or walking the entire parking lot? The food is alright it’s just like Aculpulco or El Torito

I’ve been to Whole Enchilada many times over the last few years. The cuisine is traditional burritos, enchiladas, tacos, fajitas, re-fried beans, etc. Nothing exotic or innovative, just well prepared food with very generous portions. I’ve not tried the margaritas, so I can’t comment on those. I’ve enjoyed the seafood burrito a lot over the years, among other menu items. The service has been consistently good, as I recall. Overall, it’s a great value. They must be doing something right, as the place is full or almost full each time I’ve been.

Bad food, was good but now everything tastes canned or from a jar. Not worth the effort to park.

We have been coming to Whole Enchilada for more than 15 years. We always were satisfied with our previous visits but our last visit left a bad taste in our mouth. My mom, sister, and I went to dinner Monday(7⁄20) night and were thoroughly disappointed. Apparently, we had to know our waiter on a personal level to get any service or attention that night. We were seated promptly and were waiting for the waiter to come by. In the meantime, a couple came and sat across from us. Our waiter immediately went over to the couple first and starts chatting them up as they knew him. My sister became upset as we had come first and had been waiting for a couple of minutes. We should have taken that as a sign but I said let’s give him the benefit of doubt as maybe he did not see who sat first and so we left it. Boy was I wrong… I think he did it deliberately. Even when he brought our drinks he hung on to them while he had another conversation with the couple. While we were eating, a family of four came and sat behind us. Our waiter rushed over there as he knew that family as well. He took their orders and checked up on the couple next to us but never came by to check up on us or ask if we needed any refills. By this time we were pretty much done with our meal and fed up with our waiter’s indifference. We were waiting for him to come near or in the vicinity so we could ask for a box and the check. However, we did not get either till about 15 minutes later. Why, you ask? It is because our waiter blatantly ignored us. He went to the couple across to say bye to them while he glanced at our table and knew that we were finished. He then proceeded to clear their table and another table in another area. By this time we were seriously pissed. I was looking to flag another waiter down but was unsuccessful. Our waiter then chose to walk by us and get new cutlery and settings for the tables he cleaned. I made eye contact with him and assumed he would come over, but no, he decided to go chat with the family of four till he finally came to our table and gave us a curt acknowledgement. Needless to say we are not planning on going back there. What I don’t understand is that this waiter has served us in the past and was ok… so I am not sure what his problem was. Anyways, his behavior was ridiculous. If he didn’t want to serve us, he should have had someone else do it. There are better Mexican restaurants out there… so I will certainly not miss this place!

I absolutely love this place for Mexican food. there is one server who goes out of his way to make sure you’re happy and everything is perfect. I always forget to catch his name but I’m always happy when he’s our server. I always come here and get one thing(but everything else look great too) I always order the taquitos plate and its always simply amazing. Our server brings chips and salsa and takes our order. today I decided to order the strawberry piña colada and it was everything I pictured it to be. DELICIOUS. our food came out right away and everything was perfect. always a good time in there with good company. The Whole Enchilada definitely made us a regular! thank you for amazing service && the yummy food!

The Diamond Bar staple… honestly it should replace the windmill on Diamond Bar’s crest. The service and management here is really great. Fast friendly service in a great environment. The food is what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant in a city like Diamond Bar. Very mild flavor to say the least. While the food is over over sauced a bit it is very fresh and there are some gems such as Reuben’s Favorite… basically a fried Burrito. When all said and done you don’t really come here for the food come for the atmosphere and nostalgia.

Their food is delicious, warm, has a nice plate presentation, and fills me up oh so much. This was my first time getting the lunch special arroz con pollo and I’d definitely get it again!

This is in a strip mall/shopping plaza. I love the front entrance area, you can buy a teddy bear. hahaha! Anyways, checked this place out recently when in town for work, this place was bigger than I thought, seems to be family owned, service was fine and helpful. My coworkers and I ordered some combo plates. They have shredded beef tacos too… that was a plus in my book. You can choose from tacos, tamales, enchiladas, burritos etc with your combo plate. All comes with refried beans & rice. It was ok in my opinion, I wish there was a bit more flavor/spice etc. Slightly bland. My coworker thought it was flavorful, but he admits his choices are mainly bland. A lot of cheese, pretty much everything is covered in cheese. Free chips & salsa which was actually quite good. They give you complimentary dessert too(its only fried tortilla shells sprinked with cinnamon & sugar… not sopapilla). Had a few beers and we were out! Happy Enchilada’n!

I really like The Whole Enchilada. Very flavorful and a friendly staff. I wouldn’t. Say it’s «muy bueno» I’d say it’s «very good». What do I mean by that? This is not authentic Mexican food, this is how us gringos cook Mexican food at home. It’s gringo fusion. Yum! You’ve got to at least order an enchilada with your combo here. The cheese enchiladas are off the hook. I’m a fan of the chips /salsa, hard shell tacos and the rice. I like it all.
