This place is terrible. Sauces suck and meat shriveled up into tiny pieces once I hit the water! Ewe!

Me and my boyfriend always wanted to try this because his mom said it was an AYCE shabu. and we LOVE our shabu! Went in after a long weekend of partying(it was a tuesday) and it was SUPER empty. Maybe one table at most. Server didnt see us walk in so we stood there for a little bit but not too long. Came to greet us, sat us down at a huge table so we had lots of room to spread our crap out. It was all you can eat so you can choose from i think beef, pork, fish, shrimp and chicken. He got the beef and i got the chicken shrimp and fish.(why not try everything?) shrimp was bomb, small but good. chicken was pretty good, fish was alright, and then the beef i didnt try. My boyfriend said it was a little fatty so that can either be a plus or a minus. The veggies it came with had like some spinach, baby corn, cabbage, some like. clear potato noods, a hot dog?(random yes.) and some enoki mushrooms. Oh also. they ran out of cabbage. who does that? You could choose from a few broths like, pork bone, miso, spicy miso. and i forgot what else but the broths weren’t as good as tokyo shabu shabu or ichi in the banana bay plaza. The sauces i have to say weren’t awesome. They gave a sacha sauce(like a chinese hot pot sauce) and a peanut sauce. You can ask for ponzu and remember to get garlic and green onions to go with it. Not bad. A little hard to find because its small, upstairs, and in a big empty plaza. Service was pretty good. I dont remember her name but she was super attentive and very sweet. You also get ice cream at the end. Satisfying! But the quality was. meh. Other than that, i would probably come back here. A little expensive(50 dollars even for the both of us) but it did come with a free drink and ice cream. Finally tried a new spot. :)

A good friend introduced my husband & I to this restaurant 2 years ago and we have continued to come back since then. The food and service have always been great! My husband & I often come for lunch and have the all you can eat shabu shabu for only $ 20. Awesome price for the quality of meat & fresh vegetables that come with it! Our favorite soup base is the spicy miso and the spicy or non-spicy pork bone-in. The service is always quite the same… professional, friendly, and appropriately attentive to our needs. When the owner is there, she makes it a point to converse with her customers and show her appreciation for being a loyal customer! We will definitely continue to come back!

FOODISMEDIOCREATBEST. SAUCESSUCK. YEA I SAIDIT. I consider myself an easy going guy. So for me to have an awkward experience, that’s saying a lot. My friend suggested we try Fusion Shabu Shabu. Sat down and ordered the 20pcs. Beef Shabu Combo. Looked promising! Here’s where the awkwardness sets in. While the waitress was EXTREMELY courteous, her comments were somewhat inappropriate. I ordered the spicy pork bone soup base. The waitress explains that the spice is only mild. «Oh yea no problem,» I declared, «I eat really spicy foods anyway.» I get my beef, which by the way, took FOREVER to come out, and start grubbing. Couple minutes pass and I ask for ponzu sauce in which I am then greeted with a laugh by the waitress, «Haha, is the soup too spicy for you???» UMMM… wow, that was out of nowhere? I give her a look and said, «umm, no.» Then she sees my bowl of green onions and asks me, «Have you tried putting the green onions in your sauce?» Again, I’m like UMMM… excuse me? Why does it matter? For your information, yes, I have tried it(I’ve also tried putting a shit ton of other stuff in my sauces but I just haven’t gotten to that point in my meal yet, can you just chill?). I didn’t say that, obviously. Again, gave her a look and said, «umm, yea…» Whatever. I finish my meal and she proceeds to shut off the burners for both me and my friend, BUTMYFRIENDWASN’T EVENDONECOOKINGYET!!! At this point I’m really weirded out by this place and I needed to leave; had an appointment to head to so I asked for the check. The waitress comments, «ALREADY???» At this point, I’m not surprised by her lack of communication skills and simply reply, «Hah, yea…» Dear goodness, I just realized this place is labeled as «Japanese» shabu? Bull crap, how the heck is this place«Japanese?» It’s straight up Chinese«Pick-O-Soup-Base» style with Chinese dipping sauce. PLEASE. P. S., They charge for extra rice, which is totally fine. But seriously, can you not serve rice in «dipping sauce”-sized bowls??? Ridiculous.

First time trying Shabu shabu and it was OK. It was fun making my own meal, but I’m not really a soup fan to begin with. This place is so hidden and empty. Good place to be alone.

Again my co-worker introduced me to this place and I love that they have different soup base. The meat is sliced thinner but still good nonetheless. They are so friendly and this shopping center is so new that there’s not a lot of buzz yet! I love the spicy miso but it’s not as spicy as I would like but that’s good that it’s not too spicy… best part… it’s all you can eat and the price is quite reasonable. I love all the individual pots so you can cook the way you like it. This is my second favorite shabu shabu out there.

First of all, this place may be hard to find if you’re not looking. It’s behind the liquor store on the corner. The building and environment is actually very new and nice. But it’s nothing compare to the quality of their meat. Don’t bother to come if you’re just looking for a cheap shabu shabu to get your money’s worth. All their meats are local or imported from Australia and very importantly, never frozen. It’s great for large parties for friends and family. They do have a AYCE option for around $ 24 and it comes with drink and desert. This is a local mom and pop place that I think it’s very hard to find around this place that’s not full of high schoolers. All-in-all you can’t go wrong here with the service and the top quality meats.

Great service. All you can eat hot pot. Buy one get one free sake. Most places like this conveniently forget about you after 2 – 3 plates of meat. This place always kept our pots full and the quality of meat was good. We never had to flag them down once, they were on the ball every time we finished a plate.

Much has changed since the first time that I came here in August and that’s a very good thing for a restaurant. The times that I’ve accumulated in experience by coming here now results in a change of heart. This place is by far my favorite shabu place next to Ichikawa in Chino. I’ve been to several different shabu places and averaging out all of them this place has the best quality of meat and variety of food in their vegetable plate. Their vegetable plate change about every month in order to keep up with different paces of different customer tastes, which I think is a very smart idea. Their meat are always cut in the perfect thickness where they curl so it’s easy to pick up and the slices are large enough that they don’t shrink to a ridiculous size in the soup. As for their soup, they also have varieties which come free with the order. As far as I know they currently have: Miso, House, Spicy(spiciness varying depending on your level of how well you take spice), Herbal(an acquired taste), Vegetarian, they also just recently came out with a new one which I have not have had the chance to try. I usually get between the Miso and House since they’re both pretty good, Miso being saltier than the House. A tip on the Miso soup: when it boils down, it’ll become very salty and makes the meat and veges taste saltier too so I highly recommend a refill of soup when it’s low. They also provide you with five different kinds of meat here at Fusion: beef, pork, lamb, chicken, seafood, and Kobe. Kobe being the most expensive but being the best tasting meat I’ve ever eaten. The Kobe is well worth the almost $ 20 that you’re putting into it, it’s ginormous and very juicy when cooked right. They even have a set for vegetarians. They also provide you with green onions, garlic, ponzu sauce, and diced daikon when you ask for it. They have pretty amazing ponzu sauce though, something I would recommend on dipping with the meat. Service has gone up since the beginning, they waiters and waitresses greet you well and they often checked up on me and my guests when I go and I’m very pleased that they always seemingly know what I need before I even ask it. Extra Tips: — Regular(10 pieces) 12.99; Large(20 pieces) 14.99; Kobe around $ 19.99; Vegetarian $ 9.99 — Kid play place; Kid friendly area with drawing tables and small tv — Separate pots — Minimum of $ 20 for credit card use — When it gets crowded, the service will slow down and they will seemingly run out of rice and other things when there are a lot of people so patience will be needed then — Charge extra for rice(between .50 to $ 1.00 last time I checked not too sure) — Location is hidden; it’s located in Golden Springs plaza on Golden Springs and Lemon intersection, second floor next to LA Fitness — Has an All You Can Eat Shabu Shabu option(waste fee applies here) — Milk tea here is pretty delicious though, but it’s caffeinated– for those of you that can’t sleep at night due to caffeine intake — Great variety of drinks; they’re having specials on their beers

I happened to be in Diamond Bar the first day of the non stop rain that So Cal got in Dec. I was hungry and had been craving shabu shabu for a while. I was with my mom and my aunt and wasn’t sure if they would like it but hey I was hungry and cold. I told them it included soup and they agreed. We came in at 245 and they sat us, she asked if we had ever had shabu shabu and explained the process. It was strange for me since I had never had the option of a broth, but I loved that spicy one I chose. They brought us everything EXCEPT for the rice which was still cooking(apparently that is an issue here) she was very attentive and finally half way through brought us the rice. She was very talkative and then explained that they actually close at 230 but they let us in anyway. My mom and my aunt LOVED shabu shabu, they took home some leftovers. The lady then brought us free green tea ice cream… on the house… all this for coming into a place AFTER they close. If I am ever in the Diamond Bar area again I’ll most definitely stop by… if they are still there. This place is very hidden from view and were it not for my phones GPS we prob would have driven right by this palce.

If this place was located in a more business friendly place I’m sure it would be getting better business. They opened a while back in a newly built plaza on golden springs that still has no more than two businesses there and it seems like they both have a hard time getting their name out there and it doesn’t seem like that any businesses want to move into this plaza that still has the fees to pay for a security guard to watch it. The service is good, there is this a really nice server named michelle, she is so nice and cute haha, best server there! The owner herself is such a sweetheart too, always smiling and jolly. Her kids are adorable too, sometimes you would see them running around outside riding a tricycle! This place has a nice section with things for your young one’s to do, like a drawing table, a tv, and what not. that is section off from the eating area. Probably the first shabu place I would say is kid friendly! Atmosphere of the place is very simple but modern and clean. Granite table and dark oak furniture and booths. Tables aren’t too high or too low which was great, a lot of shabu places have awkward table heights that make it hard to reach into your pot. The food was good, I got the lamb with the house broth. The lamb was yummy, I actually like that taste of lamb, not a lot of people do, and their lamb here is not bad, I would recommend it over the beef. The boy got the beef with miso broth which was not bad either, just the beef was a little tough. I love the sides they give you though, they are so fresh and abundant. They don’t skimp out on the napa cabbage they give you, and they are super fresh, pretty, and clean. They also give you a few more items that usual shabu’s wont give you like an assortment of fish balls and fish cakes instead of just one fish ball. It comes with the usual’s too like udon, rice noodles, mushroom, carrots, enoki mushrooms, rice, peanut sauce, ponzu soy sauce, etc. Our bill was around 25 – 30 ish, depends if you get drink, size of meat platter, add on’s, and dessert. Not bad! This place is definitely worth a try, at least once. I left very full and satisfied!

Looking at the reviews, I think this place is a hit or miss. My friend recommended this place since HIS friend recommended the AYCE shabu-shabu, and so we decided to give it a try. The previous reviews helped us locate the building, if not I don’t think I would have found it. It’s at Lemon ave and Golden Springs, after the billiard plaza if you’re familiar with the area. When we called, the waitress said that we had to make a reservation if we wanted to eat there, however when we got there we saw plenty of tables empty. So that was a little weird. We chose the AYCE option which came to $ 25/person after taxes & tip. Each person gets one pot of their own, which was a plus! Service was good, food came out pretty fast. No complaints there. Broth was OK. We ordered pork, lamb, and beef. The beef and lamb were sliced super-thin, but not thin enough that it would break apart in the pot. The pork however was weird. It turned COMPLETELYWHITE after it had cooked, was rubbery and had no taste to it. Not good at all. Beef and lamb was pretty good. After we had ordered 5 – 6 bowls of rice(there were 4 of us), the waitress(maybe the boss?) says that they have run out of rice and that would be the last bowl. We were like: «Whattt??! This is an ASIAN shabu-shabu place and they run out of RICE?! Can’t they make more? Rice shortage?!» I guess we were bitter because we were paying for ALLYOUCANEAT, but I guess it doesn’t apply to RICE. It was only 9pm and they close at 10pm! However we did not make a fuss and ordered noodles instead. Apparently the kitchen closes at 9.30pm so she took our«last order» at 9pm. 15 mins later some people come in and there’s a little discussion on whether to let them in. After they are seated, another little discussion among the staff an whether they are going to let them order rice. 9.30pm, we are done and as we walk out, we see bowls of RICE on the newcomers’ table. Pretty much sums up my feelings about that place.

A co-worker recommended this place. We’ve seen the yellow sign advertising their $ 9.99 lunch but never tried it. We were pleasantly surprised. Although this place opens at noon, we usually arrive at 11:40ish and get seated. The wait staff is very attentive and informative. They currently have a lunch special which gives you a free drink with the purchase of a shabu meal. We got the regular shabu and at $ 11.99, its a good deal. Everything comes out quickly and we have always had a very enjoyable time here. Definitely recommend the miso soup base.

Really bad service, bad food, bad price. Came here in a a group if 8, owner refused to give us rice, «if I give you rice there wouldn’t be enough for everyone else.» Note: there were only 4 other people. She couldn’t cook more rice. Are we back in china? Because china does even ration rice anymore.

It was about dinnertime and my significant other and I were hungry for something good to eat. We were headed to one of our favorite Korean restaurants, when we had an idea to stop at the shabu shabu place on the second floor of an almost empty building. We always see this place when we drive to the Korean restaurant. We took the elevator up to the second floor and saw the restaurant off to our left. We were greeted and seated. We looked over the menu and felt lost and not because there was so much to choose from. We realized we were novice shabu shabu eaters. We’ve never really done shabu shabu other than one other time. We ordered the regular combo and added an order of Angus beef as a main meal for the shabu shabu, some extra udon noodles, and fish dumplings. We each also ordered a milk tea. When our food came we just started throwing everything in, including the two sauces provided for us that were served in little bowls. I don’t know if we were doing it right, but I felt like I needed some kind of dipping sauce after the meat had cooked. Maybe the two sauces placed on our table were for dipping rather than for throwing in the mix. Oh well. You live and you learn. We were satisfied with our food and thought it was pretty good. The milk tea was really good! Our server was also very attentive and polite.

Maybe I’m just not as critical as some of the others here, but I didn’t see this as a 1 star place at all. I just got back from here, and I enjoyed my experience. My fiancée and I were driving along, when all of a sudden, we both had a craving for some shabu. It happens like that, hence the reason we’re getting married. We were in the area, and have seen this restaurant on the way to A-Bum Korean, so we decided to try it out. We’d always seen the sign from the street advertising the $ 9.99 special. We were realistic, however, and knew we’d be spending more than $ 9.99 each. Fusion Shabu Shabu is on the second floor of a mini plaza so it may seem difficult to get to, but it’s really not. After exiting the elevator, this place is directly to the left. As we were walking from the elevator, the server saw us, and gave a smile. She waited for us to enter, greeted us, and gave us a choice on where we would like to sit. I really liked the interior of this restaurant. I actually found it pretty chic. It was classy, sophisticated, and they even have a play area for the kids. NEATo! After looking over the menu fairly thoroughly, we decided on the Regular Combo with house sauce. We also added an order of Angus Beef, Fish Wontons, and some Udon. To drink, we both had some of their milk tea. The drinks came out, and I found them very pleasant. They weren’t tea house teas, but they definitely had a nice flavor to them. Next, came the rest of our meal. All the items came out(basically) at the same time, and we began to cook our shabu. First off, the broth(by itself) was a bit bland, as expected. After mixing the sauces, we created the perfect combination for our taste buds. Our server seemed to expect this, so she asked us at the beginning if we would be wanting some more sauces, garlic, etc. We opted for the pork for our regular combo, and I was very happy with the flavor of the pork, while my fiancée was happier with the Angus Beef. While I liked the Angus Beef, it seemed as if it was cut sloppily. It was thin, which I like, but the cut just didn’t look appetizing. It was tasty, however. With all of this, and extremely attentive service, I feel that Fusion Shabu is a solid 3 stars. It’s a nice place. If I could rate the service only, I would give it a 4, but the food was a 3. OMG…almost forgot to say how much the meal was. The total was about $ 31. Not bad for both of us, so I think it’s a pretty good deal.

Great Shabu, Excellent Service, Decent price~!! Location kinda sucks though but it is in a nice brand new building on the second floor, so everything is still in prestine condition. No shabu2 bars like others, just tables family style. Love the texture of the beef. Ordered Miso soup while my bf had the house soup. House soup … naaa… tasteless, miso soup got a good brothy taste. They have children section which I think its awesome cuz I never seen other shabu2 places with one. It’s in the little corner with a small tv and some tiny tables, sorta cute. High points for the waitresses, the Iadies are great and very attentive. Great service always wins my vote :)

Yes, the location is really bad, the liquor store plaza actually blocks the view if you’re not familiar w/the area. I came on a friday, and the plaza & the restaurant was kinda dead. I think most ppl realized there’s a shabu there, because of the customer from the nail place next door. The food and the service was ok despite the fact that they weren’t busy at all. The sauces are very really salty. The amount of food given was ok, not alot… not too little. Overall, it’s not very tasty. The place is very roomy and décor are pretty nice. It even have a kids area.

Ordered: Supreme Beef, $ 36.99 for 2. Meat: Thin, frozen, not fresh. Rice: Too hard, feels like they use the cheap rice. Soup Bace: I had the Miso one it was OK. little bit too thick. Sauce: One satay sauce and one sesame sauce(salty) Side dishes: hot dog(why?), dumpling(gross, doesnt match with hot pot), taro, fake crab meat(OK), 2 fish cakes(brown one OK, the white one no taste), napa. Drinks: Ice Coffee(very bitter) Ice milk tea(very water down) Dessert: Cream Buff(I bought the same one at Costco) We will not come back again. One star for the interior design.
