Went there Sunday November 29 to find a movie with my fiancée. As we neared I said, «Where will we go when MV closes?» We pulled up and. .. as the saying goes, «All good things must come to an end.» The Close Out Sales signs were plastered all over the showcase windows. Megavideo may have possibly been the very last«Mom & Pop» video store anywhere nearby. It was a one of those few down-to-earth establishments where people knew you and were glad to see you stop by. The staff(Frank, Norma, Angie, and Judith) were always kind, courteous and attentive. Not only that, but this is where my fiancée and I met 6 years ago. I will miss going there. Thank you for the service you provided. :(

Family has been going to this video rental store for Filipino movies to rent and English ones too. Been going to this establishment for years, just sucks that a couple of years ago, had to move to walnut which made this quite distance just to rent movies. Still, we still rent here from time to time. When we do rent, we make sure we rent with cash all the time. The rental price is fine, which I think is still the same of 2.99 for blu-ray movies that are new and next day return. They also have one of those if you rent enough, one of your movies is free rental. I also found some nice gem of xbox and ps2 games, in their for sale pile. So far, been happy with this video rental store. :)

$.99 Older Videos with free 2 – 3 night rentals! $ 2 New Releases(the normal 1-day rental) Easy Breezy return and rental process! Closed on Tuesdays I believe! Great selection of movies and they also have a stamp card for repeat customers!

A dvd rental place that has to charge your card $ 50 in order to make sure that your card is valid is kind of ridiculous. Especially when the man seemed unsure about how long the money would take to be refunded back to the card. Ended up going down the street to Video 94 and getting a free membership there.

Good selection of movies. I have only one problem here. This place needed a new visa card for my account because my previous one expired. So they run my card for 50 dollars and supposedly voided it. But that 50 dollars taken away from my account seemed to take a long time(many days) that I had to call my bank to put it back in right away because of that stupid debit they did. Pissed me off.

Became a fan even before I signed up for membership! Found this place on Unilocal, and called in to place a reservation for a couple movies; one wasn’t in stock. Took down my name and number and told me I’d get a call if they get it in. And I did! Now that’s what I call great customer service! Will definitely be back to rent from this place again.

Unfortunately I forgot to mention to my sister my unfortunate experience with this establishment. My sis(who doesn’t know anything about the incident and Mega Video should not discriminate) went there last week-end and they refuse to rent to her citing that there is a note on our account that stops them from renting to her. How can a customer trust you and your business with all the info you have about me, home address, credit card info etc. etc. if you take this«too personal» and do not accept any criticism to better your service? What upsets me the most on top of my previous complain is that how you can manipulate and discriminate against a person, which happened to be my sister that was not present and has nothing to do with this conversation or to my grievances. I do not have any plans on coming back and of course now that I explain to my sister she too would rather rent somewhere else.

I love supporting small mom and pop shops and this one seriously reminds me of some better, older times. They have a bunch of new releases on DVD and Blu-ray and well as some older classics and foreign films(mostly Asian ones like Chinese, Korean, Tagalog). The rental fees are cheap($ 1 Mon-Wednesday, most of them for a couple of nights) and they’re all pretty nice people. Only ONE small issue is that I’ve had a couple of DVDs that would randomly skip while I was watching it so that was kind of a drag, BUT when I brought it back and explained the situation, they gave me a replacement one without charging me again. I think the disc had one or two skips still, but I’m thinking it might be my device now, so I may have to change this one star deduction if I find out it’s a problem on my end. Regardless, excellent service that is pretty indicative of great local shops :).

Honestly, why do Blockbusters and Hollywood Videos exist? You do NOT need to rent a movie for an entire week… all you need it for is the day/night you plan on watching it, and then return it the following day! I LOVE Mega Video… particularly on Mon/Tues/Wed when most of the movies are $ 1/night! New Releases are usually $ 2/night but still… that’s AWESOME! My family has been going here for years… they have movies, candy, and phone cards to call the Philippines hahaha you can get the necessities all in one stop! :)

Sometimes I just prefer going to these small mom and pop video stores, compared to a bigger chain like Blockbuster or Hollywood Video. Of course they won’t have as big of a selection, but you can’t beat the cheap rental fees and convenience. They also have a good selection of tagalog movies, which I must admit is quite entertaining to me(shut it with the fob jokes… yo mama’s a fob!) They also sell used DVD/VHS movies here, as well as magazines, Filipino CDs, and believe it or not, plane tickets to the Philippines(okay, maybe they just refer you to someone… but I did see the sign«tickets to the Philippines sold here»). They’re open from 11 am to 11 pm everyday, and $ 1 rental on ALL movies Monday to Wednesday. 3 stars for Mega Video, and 1 extra star for the new girl working the counter. She’s a cutie…
