I have never received such a thorough eye examination before. I appreciate Dr. Larino taking her time to examine my eyes. I am confident that she will take care of my eye needs for life. I received a warm welcome letter when I came back to pick up my glasses and contacts as well as diagnosis explaining my eye condition in detail and how to care for my eyes. The office staff were so nice and welcoming, too. Appointments can get filled up pretty fast, so call early to schedule.

I have been a patient at this practice for the last 3 doctors. I inherited Dr. Larino when she took over the practice from Dr. Wozney (many years ago) and I could not be happier.
The service my family receives is fantastic. I highly recommend her.
Every optometrist is more expensive than Wal-​Mart and Costco. Those places are cheap. This is why people go there. The reviewers that mention this as if it were a surprise must not get out much.

Great service, helpful advice, very professional. I got my last three pairs of glasses and contacts here and each experience was better than the last. Wonderful staff who listen to customers and want to help in any way possible.

Five stars for sure… I’ve had 6 pairs of glasses from here in the 9 years I’ve been here and I’ve loved every one of them. I always get complimented on the pair I have now. Dr. Carmela Larino gives wonderful eye exams and the staff is very friendly. I’ll go here as long as I still need glasses!

First time going here and was impressed with how Dr. Carmela Lorino handled my 5 y. o daughter. She was very nice, calm and patient. I highly recommend this place for those who need eyeglasses. Staffs are very friendly too.

I was a patient many years ago. I paid too much money plus I didn’t care for the front office staff. One particular lady was not friendly at all. Don’t know if she still works there since I haven’t been to this office in years… I go to Walmart Optical now. They also take VSP and there’s an optometrist right next door. No frills and you can find cheap, decent glasses.

Dr. Larino has been our family optometrist for almost 20 years, and we have always been very satisfied with the personalized service that she and her staff provides. We have a seven year old, and the Doctor always goes out of her way to make the visit «fun», as she is very patient and wonderful with kids. During my last visit, it was determined I would need reading glasses and she was very detail oriented in explaining the various available options. There is a variety of frames to choose from, and the staff are always friendly and helpful with the selection process. We definetely recommned Dr. Larino for all of your Optometrist needs!

My wife and I have been clients for many years.
No longer…
(1). My wife needed new prescriptions. To replace her two eyeglass lenses (regular and sunglasses), we spent well over $ 750. (No new frames… just lenses). We subsequently priced Costco and we would have spent less than half of that amount (including exam) with Costco’s optometry. (And we have vision care insurance!)
(2). At the same time as my wife, I had my eyes examined and Dr. Larino gave me a new prescription. I had the new prescription put into my glasses and my «corrected» vision was incredibly worse to the point that I became dizzy and nauseous wearing the glasses. I could not adjust to them. I left my glasses with her receptionist as Dr. Larino was busy, asking that Dr. Larino call me. When she called me at home, she became defensive, trying to pass the responsibility/​blame to me.
Given my experience, Walnut Hills Optometry (Dr. Larino) provides inferior quality of vision care and is well over-​priced.

Customer service is the worst. Their office hours are very inconsistent. Their posted hours are invalid because they arbitrary take lunch whenever they feel like it. Their lunch time is more important than patient care. They do not care about patients or value our time at all. My family and I have been coming here for few years because it is convenient. They are nothing special and do not go out of their way to do anything for you. I am highly disappointed in the way they do business and in the way they treat loyal patients like me and my family.
More than once, I have called to check to see if they were open around lunch time. They have said they were open but when we showed up, there would be a sign with a paper clock indicating the time they would return. We have parked in front of their office and waited for them to return, but they have never return by the time posted on their office door. Dr. Larino’s explanation was «Maybe we should not go out to lunch then.» What kind of lame excuse is that?
I truly don’t care if they go out to lunch or not. I just wanted to know that they are there when they say they are. Is that too much to ask for? Is my time less important? They really do not care about your time or seeing patients. They have done this to me and family many times in the past. I have mentioned this problem to them, but they really don’t care and have continued to do conduct business this way. Again, poor business practices without regard for patients.
Today, I called at 11 am to make sure they were in the office around lunch time and they indicated that their office would be open. Then, I informed them that we (by providing my name and my son’s name and they should know us by name since we have been loyal customers for years) were going to be there between 1:45 pm and 2 pm to do an adjustment for our eye glasses. We arrived at 1:50 pm and saw the sign on the front door indicating they would return at 2:30 pm. Their office was closed and the door was locked. I was infuriated that it was happening again. We waited until 2:35 and then we left. My son in the car said, «Mom, why do they do this all the time?» This made us feel like we don’t matter to them. They have called to say they were «sorry», but it is too little, too late. We have forgiven them too many times and today was the last draw.
This is a small mom and pop type of business that needs to get their act together or they will go out of business. No one needs this type of headache or the aggravation!

My family and I have been Dr. Larino’s patients for years. She is always very nice and a true professional. I always recommend her to my family and friends.

This optometrist is by far the friendliest, most professional and fair priced office I’ve ever been to. The manager Joel makes it a point to make you feel welcome and cared for. Dr. Larino was very knowledgeable as she was able to answer all my questions thoroughly. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone who values high quality when it comes to the proper care of their eyes.

I have never needed glasses before in my life… at 50 I am experiencing a change in eyesight so I found this shop relatively close to my work… What a fantastic experience! Dr Larino and her staff are top notch. She took time with me to explain all the issues impacting my vision. Her staff helped me select my glasses… I never knew there were so many options… At the end of the appt I had picked out glasses that really look great and will be easy to wear even though I never had glasses before:)
FAST turnaround on my glasses and a personalized after care program and detailed personal letter thanking me for my business and outlining my vision issues!
They have a patient/​customer for life! well at least as long as I am in the area:)
