I have lived in Waltham for just about four years, live on South St and had never been here. A friend recommended Prime to me and last Saturday I decided to go for lunch. Their menu is huge, but, I went with a basic pastrami with Swiss on a bulkie along with their potato salad(it was recommended I try). I have to admit, it was a great pastrami sandwich and the potato salad was fresh and delicious. The gentleman and lady at the counter were pleasant and helpful. Today, after raving about my meal, my coworkers and I decided to order from Prime. Now, I don’t recall if Prime uses Beyond Menu as their online ordering system or if was suggested(I can’t remember) but, it was super easy to use. Having never used the online ordering system, I called immediately after I placed my order to ensure they received it, and they did. I placed my order at 11:10 and was told it would be 50 minutes(my work is 2.6 miles from Prime). At 12:20 I checked my online status, it said my order was placed at 11:40 when the receipt emailed to me said 11:10, I called to see where the delivery was and the woman said it would be there shortly. The order arrived at 12:35. Now, it was a $ 97 order, I would have expected the delivery would have been more timely(the driver still got a 20% tip, after all, we are professionals). Aside from the delivery fiasco, the food was delicious, except, my coworker said the fries were soggy. Could have been the time they sat in the car? I don’t know. I would recommend Prime, they have good food. I see a lot of bad reviews about the pizza and breakfast, but, it’s a deli, you go for the sandwiches. The fries however, could be better. Also, if I were to ever order online again it would be at 9:30 when they open for an 11:30 delivery, perhaps that would give enough time to arrive for 12? This is also the reason for 4 out of 5 stars.

I am not the biggest fan of this place. The food isn’t that great. The service is decent but nothing special and I always feel a little icky after I eat some of the food. One plus is that they do have online ordering.

Literally just finished my lunch and wanted to write a review before the underwhelmed feeling escapes me. Ordered online(perhaps my first mistake) and paid for everything including the tip with my credit card. Delivery is free over $ 10 so honestly that was the deciding factor as to which sub shop I chose. They have a little«track my order» wheel similar to Domino’s pizza tracker, which was designed to distract you from the wait I would imagine. Delivery was about 45 minutes, so not terrible I guess. Then I realized I hadn’t chosen a side dish which was part of the deal. I called 10 minutes after placing the order and was told my order hadn’t left yet so she could still get it added on. I asked for potato salad but was told they just reopened after a 2 week renovation so my only options were pasta salad, cole slaw or fries. I requested pasta. Two guesses what I got for a side? Soggy, limp fries. And the wrap? Ugh. Chicken/steak tip combo on a sundried tomato wrap… soggier than the fries and was a sloppy mess. I took a fork and ate the contents(which were tasty btw) and trashed the wet wrap. My bad for ordering a wrap instead of bread perhaps. Given how infrequently I order out at work(once a year?) it was a disappointment. If the steak tips and chicken didn’t taste as good as they did, this would be a 2 star review.

There is nothing prime about this place! Hamburger I received was like rubber. I called to have them correct it was encountered by an extremely rude woman who did nothing to rectify the situation. I understand things can happen, however I was more upset that their customer service was so terrible. My business will go elsewhere. Thumbs way down

While the food is consistently average, the delivery time is outrageous. They often take much longer than estimated, and the food arrives lukewarm. I’ve also put in specific instructions before and they’ve failed to follow them. They do have some interesting specialty sandwiches though, so if you’re not short on time and don’t want anything added/taken away, they would be a good bet for you.

When I got home with the piece of fish I had just bought, I called the owners to report about it. What was worse than the bad fish was the owner’s defensive and unapologetic response. Actually, what was worse was how they yelled at me, accusing me of «doing something» to the fish that I had bought, just minutes before. Wow– I had been a regular customer for many months, always with a smile, so when I very politely brought the bad fish to their attention, all hell broke lose… Very sad…

Love this place! Only place you can get delivery on breakfast food at night. Plus it’s delicious!

This is a consistently decent place. I’ve never had an outstanding meal here(it’s just not their thing), but I’ve NEVER had a bad meal here either. You get really big portions for a very decent price. I ordered their chicken caesar roll-up and it was quite good. They always give you a bunch of fries, and the chicken parm sandwich is good too. Come here for a consistently decent meal. There are always a lot of Brandeis students here, and I understand why — it’s a good place for college students. They also serve breakfast!

Just tried this place for the first time tonight. I got a steak and cheese with onions and bacon. It was pretty decent… a little bland. I’ve had worse steak n cheese subs and I’ve had better. If you get it, I would suggest ordering yours with extra cheese because there was very little on mine.

We ordered breakfast there noon-ish on a Saturday. OK food, nothing special, nothing awful either. EXTREMELY slow service. There were five people behind the counter, only two seemed to be actually doing anything, and one of them was exclusively taking orders and working the register. Lots of customers waiting for food. VERY expensive for what you get. For the $ 25 they charged us for two ordinary breakfasts, we could’ve gone somewhere else and had table service, with actual china dishes and metal utensils, and refills on the coffee to boot. That’s awfully pricey for cafeteria-style dining on styrofoam plates and plasticware you get yourself from a bin. We won’t be back.

So I cant actually write a review about the food, as it is now over 30 minutes late and I called to cancel. But I can write about the awful service. I decided to try this place out seeing as how everyone at my office likes their breakfasts. I was working the late shift and was craving something breakfasty so I decided to give them a try. I ordered online via foodler at 1230 and scheduled it for a delivery at 2. 2 oclock rolls around and still no food. I thought ok, ill give them a few minutes before I call. 5 minutes later I get a rude woman on the phone who gave me a lot of attitude saying«well this wasnt ordered until 130, so it will be there in a few moments» and then hung up. 215 rolls around and still no food. I call back and get a man who says oh well its been 45 minutes, driver left about 20 minutes ago, should be there any minute. Basically the same story I got before. I told him that was the answer 15 minutes ago and he said the same story, any second now! 230 comes up, STILL no food. this is now 30 minutes late, and I am NOT paying for it. I called yet again and got someone whos english was pretty poor, he said he would call the driver then hung up on me. SERIOUSLY?! I called right back and told them to cancel the order, this was absolute BS and I will never try this place again. Good luck to anyone who wants to eat on time.

Ok so I tried this place for the first time since its near my new office. First of all the menu is huge! The big turn off is how dirty it is inside. As I sat in a both and looked at the tee shirts hanging on the walls you could see layers of dust. Really thick and disgusting. I ordered a greek wrap which was over $ 12 with a soda which is pricey. food was Ok but the place being so dirty was a big turn off. Will not be returning again.

When you’re craving breakfast after-hours in Waltham, this seems to be the go-to place. Nostalgic to the NY deli’s from home, I can tell you that this place has a very different philosophy of portion size than what I’m accustomed to. I ordered the Western Omelette sandwich, which had very good toppings in it, but very little egg. I highly doubt that even two eggs went into the making of this sandwich. I wish I had just ordered the omelette by itself, which is $ 2 more expensive but is made with three eggs. Their lox bagels are also astronomically priced at $ 7.50, I can only imagine the size of it. They did give me a bag of chips with my order, but it’s not enough to offset what should have been a three dollar sandwich.

Decent local place for breakfast and lunch and one of the go to places for the local Brandeis students. The breakfasts are pretty basic, but they taste good and the service is fairly fast. The sandwiches are better, their selection of deli meats and breads is good. Handy to have a quick place for breakfast and lunch within walking distance.

Located conveniently close to Brandeis University, this place sells pretty decent food. It is family owned. They sell breakfasts, bagels, sandwiches, pizzas, and many more. My friend ordered the Tuna Sandwich and I ordered the Turkey Breast Club. He devoured the Tuna Sandwich so I’m guessing it was pretty good. My turkey breast club was just okay. I just liked the crispy bacon bits that was in the sandwich. Service was kind of slow just for a regular sandwich…

Don’t do it. They are so rude. I have tried them a few times, because they’re just so conveniently located that I really wish it would work out, but never again. One time, they kept forgetting parts of my order. I ordered at 11am, and I finally got the last piece of my order at 4:15pm. Yep, that’s right. Obviously I would have preferred a refund, but the«manager» told me it was not possible, and they would send the driver back. 3x. Awful experience. Another time, after submitting via foodler and paying via foodler, they tried to charge more $ to my card saying the options I chose were more $. The options on foodler are in a way where it tells you(+1.50, etc) when things are more expensive. I had actually ordered the same thing twice before with no additional charges or issues. I contacted foodler and got a refund, and a foodler credit. They have awful customer service, and have lost out on a boatload of $ from me, because I am extremely lazy when it comes to cooking and would order from there all the time if my experiences weren’t so horrible.

Talk about a place that benefits from a lack of competition. Cappy’s across the street has pizza, but this place is(unfortunately) the only«deli» in the area(at least that I’m aware of). This place loves to tout the fact that Brandeis voted them«best pizza,» apparently not aware that college kids will eat feces for the right price. The people here are plain rude, and I don’t appreciate being ripped off. It’s one thing to have high prices — they do — it’s another to actively overcharge your clients(they do this as well). I ordered a ham and turkey sub with curly fries and was charged over $ 12. I went to the menu and under«clubs and subs» looked for ham or turkey and it said $ 7.50, «comes with fries.» I brought it to their attention, they gave me the run around and refused any sort of renumeration(in fact, some guy that worked there speaking undiscernable English said something I couldn’t hope to ever understand). To make matters worse, it took them 15 minutes to fill my order. Seriously? Too bad too, cause the curly fries were delicious — just not delicious enough to raise this review to two stars. Barring some sort of amnesia/brain damage, I’m never going back.

Having to live in a hotel for a few weeks while apartment hunting means having to hunt for food come dinner time. By the end of the day, all we wanted to do is take off our shoes and relax in the room with a decent meal. Thankfully, Prime Deli has free, friendly and quick delivery. Their menu is packed full of items to satisfy most cravings from wraps to burgers. Drink choices are plentiful, as are sides and salad options. We were impressed enough to order from them twice during our 2 week stay in Newton. We had the same delivery guy both times and he was extremely polite, gave us a nice hello and thanked us for ordering from them again. Huge kudos for polite delivery people. That is MAJOR in my book. Having only«lived» in the area for 2 weeks, I don’t have much to compare Prime Deli to locally. I’m basing this on my experience with other delis in other cities/states. Here is the break down: Food ordered: ½ pound cheese burger, steak bomb sandwich, roast beef ravish sandwich, coaster roll-up(on syrian pita bread), spicy curly fries, frappé, cole slaw, and jalapeño poppers. The pros: –The ability to order online and then track your order. –Additions and special requests are honored without issue –Quick delivery, and food is wrapped and labeled well(no leaking or smashed items) –Food is good. This is not extraordinary, cartwheel worthy food. It’s very good, basic and flavorful food –Excellent value. Two people were well fed and satisfied for about $ 13/person both times. A wrap or a burger is about $ 7.50 @ the time of this review. You might be able to find food that is lower priced with similar quality(but I’m willing to pay a little extra for them to bring me yummy food) –Able to order online and pay via credit card(and place the tip on the card as well so you just have to sign for it). At the time of this review, when you sign up to order online for the first time, we received a 25% discount. The cons: –The online ordering is a bit awkward and not as quick as some sites I’ve used, but it’s not horrendous. just mediocre — Lack of desserts. They have frozen yogurt, but a slice of cheesecake would kinda rock Overall, a good value, great service, and a nice go-to dinner when I’m too tired to go out and find dinner on my own.
