Came here to see the Billy Joel tribute band concert last night. Everything went well. I like this place just fine I wish it could go back to how it used to be here. I saw Shane McGowan here in 2002 and then social distortion in 2007. Even though I like Billy Joel and the tribute band is good it doesn’t match a real band writing original material and playing it for you. I wish so much it could go back to that format

Okay so I’m writing an update because so far this year the 90’s nights have been absolutely amazing. They have them every single Friday with awesome drink specials. The bands are great! I love That 90’s Band because they play a ton of rock covers and I’m currently obsessed with Larger Than Life, a boyband cover, that plays a lot of the same nights. These evenings sure do bring out the 90’s kid in me. Keep it up guys!

My wife and I went to Mulcahy’s on a Friday night to see a Zeppelin tribute band, Zoso. We are from the north shore of Long Island and are not in Wantagh area much, and have never been to Mulcahy’s. Easy drive down Route 135 and then a mile west on 27. Parking would have been very tough had it not been for someone leaving a spot right in front of the place as we cruised past it, so we lucked out there. Was advertised as a 9:00p show. Tickets to the show were $ 12 each in advance($ 15 at the door) and woman who answered my questions on the phone earlier in week, as well as the Manager Tim who took my credit card info for the tickets, were both very nice. $ 12 was a reasonable cover to see a great live act such as this. We arrived about 8:30 figuring we should get a good spot at bar and to view the concert. It wasn’t crowded at all when we walked in. I was actually concerned at how empty the vast concert area was after expecting the place to be packed. Large spacious area leading up to the stage. Two large 360-degree bars close to the stage. No stools so we had to stand for three hours which turned out to be fine(all stools are removed from both bars near stage on concert days). Between 9:00 — 9:30, about 100 people filed in, and by time show started at about 9:45, there was a very comfortable crowd with plenty of space to move around. By the start of the show, the place was rocking, unlike an hour prior. Crowd was mainly in the 30 – 50 range and very nice bunch of people there to see a great show. When we first arrived there was an hour to kill and we were talking to the young 20-something female bartenders and they were very sweet and friendly girls. Also spoke to a Staff guy behind the bar who also was very nice(even offered to get us a stool if my wife would get tired of standing). Bar was appropriately staffed and were very attentive and pleasant. Decent tap beer selection consisting of standard fare as well as a few microbrews. $ 7.50 pints. We had 5 pints total and spent $ 45 with tip. not too bad. I also expected, for a 50-year old venue with live music, for the place to be filled with a bunch of sloppy college-type kids, with sticky floors and stale beer smell. I actually expected it to be a hole in the wall. Quite the contrary. oddly, the place smelled fresh inside, and not only was the crowd great, nicely dressed and fun, the place was extremely CLEAN and well-ventilated. Place was well staffed and very well run. They had a VIP raised table area off to one side, with linen on tables. A few of those tables were taken. Quite updated inside, with many HD screens on walls and– get this– clean nicely furnished bathrooms! No issue at all with the restrooms which was a pleasant surprise for what I thought the place was going to be. They did a nice job with such an old place/building. Overall, we had a great evening at Mulcahy’s listening to a great Led Zep band, Zoso. It was a very pleasant experience, better than I expected. We will certainly return again if there is a band we want to see.

Nice place, big and spacious. Good music! They should offer At least one type of cider on tap or even a bottle! Plus the mixed drinks are a little pricey when they don’t have a deal. Spent $ 12 on a small mixed drink. And had to pay to get into the bar. Parking is never an issue. They would get four stars if they offered a cider though or lowered their mixed drink prices.

If you want to see Big Shot, Show up at 10:15 for the 9:00 show because they are too famous to go on at 9 pm. They think they are at the Garden!!!

The older, overweight, dark haired doorman here is disrespectful. He tries to steal your mojo before you even get through the door. I am not a fan of places that hire people who try to suck your positive energy dry and intentionally do what they can to wipe the smile off the face of excited people.

Drinks are so watered down, but the bartenders were fast at serving drinks which was nice. Place seems to get trashed by the end of the night. An ok place to come dance with your girlfriends once in a blue moon, that’s about it. It’s also conveniently located right across from the train station.

Came for Halloween, they had a deal $ 30 for an open bar and food buffet from 8−11pm. Food consisted of penne alla vodka, mini meatballs and chicken nuggets with buffalo sauce, wow what a spread ! The pasta was alright the other two not so much. They put away the«buffet» before 9:30. Believe the other reviewers that said their drinks are watered down because they are. I probably had 12 mixed vodka drinks and it felt like I had nothing. There were broken beer bottles everywhere all over the bar floor and bathrooms. There was also toilet paper on the dance floor area too, pure class. The pros of the night were that the bartenders were on their game, they worked very fast to get everyone their drinks. The music the DJ played was good and the actual bar is very big and can accommodate a lot of people. However it doesn’t make up for the weak ass drinks and broken glass everywhere.

Only come here for football Sundays and I’m starting to wonder why I even do that. Local team’s game is on the biggest screen with sound blasting in your ears, in spite of the fact that fans of those teams stay in and watch in the comfort of their own homes. The food is hit or miss and not cheap for what it is; chicken wings are not as good as most of the local competitors, but the burgers are very good with great fries. The biggest criticism is the combination of the service and the inflated drink prices for the captive audience. To whom it may concern, when you charge three bucks for a 12 ounce soda, at least refill the damned glass without charging again.

The only reason I would not recommend this place is because of the people who work there. Unfriendly, arrogant, and just overall rude. Save your money, go to a different bar. Theres plenty of places that are as big and don’t have a cover charge.

They have a reputation for treating local bands/artists like garbage… which is the last thing the LI music scene needs. In my opinion, they haven’t earned the poor attitude they give local musicians and their patrons alike. Their reviews speak for themselves. Shame on you.

Wow I am so dissatisfied in the service that I receive in this establishment! I came here for an event to support fund rising for such an amazing cause! Angelman syndrome! Well at the last 15 minutes the bar tender called a last call, which is very respectable! And working in the industry made me understand more than most. Unfortunately I was treated like an asshole. After 20 minutes of waiting at the bartenders would not serve us and only after an argument with the bar manager I received some sort of respect, I hope after the conversation I had with multiple bat tenders that this establishment only employs non inappropriate family relationShip!

They are a bar to go to for fun, they have decent drink specials… sometimes. However, I was the designated driver one night and found I was paying more for a ginger ale than my friends were for beers and mixed drinks. Other than that it is very crowded and a good time if you go with the right people.

Read any list or watch any video about stereotypical ‘Long Island things’ and Mulcahy’s is usually included on them. Perhaps because I’m closer to Queens I’ve never really checked off the list on things to do on Long Island, but my cousin needed a hand on interviewing a band and I agreed to help her. The venue is sprawling, opening up to reveal a small-sized venue. There’s plenty of bar space as it wasn’t packed during the show. Even though I was part of the press I was aware of the $ 10 cover charge, which seems a bit steep. One of the biggest problems I find with this place is actually the parking –because there is none. Depending on the time of day parking at the train is also not an option. So be prepared to walk. I don’t see why this place consistently makes the stereotypical places to go on Long Island list. Other than the size and stage there was little appeal for me.

First time here… went on a Friday night, when they have live bands. Cover was $ 12 and I definitely got my money worth. This venue is huge. It has two bars, plus an outdoor patio that holds another bar. I believe the total maximum occupancy is 650. Band and music was great. The people are nice. Dress casual.

Note: this review is solely based on the UFC bar night experience. Home for the holidays, and this is the closest local bar with UFC. Given it was a big fight night, we showed up at 8 to make sure we could get a good seat at the bar and not miss the pre fights. Oddly, all of the TVs were running the Pay Per View bio special. Which is interesting enough, but it seemed odd we had to ask for the channel to be changed at a UFC bar. They also seem to have trouble with their TVs — almost every screen had the bars framing the picture. Beers before 10 are a bit steep — at $ 6.50 for a Bud Light draft. After 10, we switched to BL bottles for the $ 3.50 specials. The bar looks small, but around 9 they opened the back dance hall area. Tons of screens to watch the fights, and plenty of seats. Though, as soon as the UFC ended, they quickly switched over to full on DJ and dance club. And we made our exit. PS — pretty clean bathrooms for a bar. Plus for me.

Ughhhhh this place sucks soooo bad! I debated so many times, one star two star, one or two one or two. So I decided to give two stars for the establishment itself, and the DJ– who was actually pretty good… Until I remembered that I had to pay a $ 10 cover, and that’s when I removed a star. If it wasn’t for the huge space, colored lights, photo wall, and clean bathroom with full body mirror, I would’ve left this review blank because it deserves NOSTARS. Unfortunately all the things I just listed don’t make for a great night at what’s listed as: Long Islands #1 Saturday Night Dance Party, so that’s why I can’t give that extra star. I feel like if you go to a night club, bar, lounge that’s huge, and specifically designed for dancing, and NOONE is dancing, it’s probably that establishment’s fault. I couldn’t even fathom why no one was moving. I mean the Dj was pretty good, there’s a huge stage and a huge dance area. Everyone was just standing around with their thumbs up their butt’s as I’m wiggling in my bar stool because I can’t sit still when the music is good. I got here around 10:30 and I only came to show some love for my friends birthday. I was looking forward to it because my friend had always hyped this place up. I don’t know, but on this particular Saturday night after like 12ish, this place was deader than Abe Lincoln. Perhaps it was the time change? I think not. The thing that pissed me off the most was the fact that this place is a complete friggen rip off! The $ 10 cover is mind blowing. For what? What am I paying $ 10 for, to stand around and look at everyone? Whatever I got over that. Now for the drinks… let me tell you… well they had some pretty good specials, so I thought. $ 5 patron mixed drinks was all I needed to hear to convince me that the night was going to be epic. There were some other $ 5 mixed drinks, but I forgot what liquor they offered– I think Grey Goose might have been another choice. So you get the point — good liquor for a cheap price until 12… can’t beat that. They also had $ 3 Coors lights, and $ 4 flavored vodka shots. I got my Patron and Pineapple and it was sooo gross. I tasted alcohol but I don’t think it was Patron, in fact I don’t think it was real alcohol. Maybe it’s some new alcohol flavoring minus the properties of actual alcohol. I had that and two shots of flavored vodka(vanilla pinnacle & gummy bear pinnacle) as well. I wasn’t the slightest bit loopy, and I’m a lightweight to the extreme. Believe me, I can have fun and dance with out alcohol being involved, and I wasn’t there to get shxt housed, but little buzz might’ve enhanced the night. I I can tell you for a fact that there probably wasn’t any real alcohol in my drink/shots. It’s great to offer drink specials, but not if they’re going to be completely scamming the people! I would never, ever, EVER pay to get into this place again! Such a waste of money. I actually am never going back regardless. STEPYOURGAMEUPMULCAHY’S!

Mulcahy’s is alright. I know it’s a pretty popular place to go among the people in my town and in my age group. I’ve been here a few times with friends and it wasn’t anything too special. I know BIg Shot performs here and it’s a big hit, but I’ve been here just on the regular DJ music nights. The drinks are fairly reasonable. Last time I went they had $ 3 well drinks. Obviously they aren’t going to be too strong if they’re bottom shelf material. But if you’re looking for something cheap, you got it. The one thing I like about this place is that the dancefloor is HUGE. There’s plenty of room for dance-offs(which happened last time). They have a fog machine and lights too. And seating! If the dancefloor is not your thing… you can always hangout and talk back in the other room where you can actually hear yourself think. Overall, an okay place. I don’t mind going back but prefer places in RVC more.

I came here on St. Patricks day and had a great time. I got there around 1 in the afternoon and there was plenty of seating at any of the three bars they have. They had plenty of bartenders and gettin a beer was pretty easy. The place is huge an there was alot of people there but it wasnt overcrowded at all. They had a couple of guys playing piano and singing songs which was cool. They were pretty funny too. Later on they had the band«Big Shot» whichis a billy joel cover band. They were awesome, sounded great. The beer selection, not so great though, so I was stuck with Bud lights for $ 3 which wasnt so bad. The only negative was we ordered some wings and after ot getting them for an hour I asked the bartender again and she reodered them for us. So about an hour and a half after we ordered they finally arrived. All in all its a decent place and we had a good time. Will definetely be back to see Big Sot again.
