Not exactly impressed with this place. I went to Aikou for lunch with family. We ordered a dragon roll, cucumber roll, yummy yummy roll, sushi sashimi lunch special and a tempura udon soup. The dragon roll was mostly rice and didn’t have the fish eggs that were shown on the picture on the menu. The udon was bland and had zero flavor and the vegetables tasted undercooked. I had the sushi sashimi lunch, which came with sushi sashimi and a spicy salmon roll. Other than the spicy salmon roll, the fish in my meal tasted very frozen(as if it were just defrosted). The yummy yummy roll was the only good part of the meal, spicy and tangy. For the price, I expected better quality. There are much better sushi places in this area of jersey.

Best Asian cuisine in the area! Great atmosphere, and clean environment. Amazing General Tso’s chicken(made with white meat), delicious spicy thai basil, and spring rolls to die for! I don’t live in the area but still my boyfriend and I end up here at least once a month and we’ve never been disappointed. Love the fact that it’s BYOB.

it was a very slow friday night which shocked us to begin with. the food was less than average. but the absolute worst part of our experience, the suffocation from the waiters. we had a party of three, one was running late and we let the server know. she tried to take our food order THREE times even though our last person wasnt there yet. when she arrived we put in our appetizers, and told the woman we were still looking over what we wanted for entrees. she came back to the table 3 times in 3 minutes to try and take our order, when we were trying to catch up with each other since that was the reason we were going out to dinner. we asked that she please come back and she stood 5 feet away and just stared at us as if we were inconveniencing her. she proceeded to point to things on the menu, and try to persuade the person i was with to order different things instead of walking away and allowing us to look over the menu on our own. mind you she could barely understand English which i feel like is why this kept happening over and over and over. you cannot take peoples orders if you only understand half of what they say. it causes tons of confusion. once we got our food, our waiter stood about 5 feet behind me and watched us eat. talk about uncomfortable. she literally paced back and forth while we ate passing our table over 30 times(I counted). when i put my fork down she ran over to ask if we were finished, and i nicely told her no. everytime one of us put our forks down, she tried to take our plates away. finally we just said screw it after she interrupted multiple conversations we were having. we were there for literally less than 1 hour. and when we went to pay, she stood there and watched us gather our money, we gather our things to leave, stood up and went to put the book on the table and leave, the waiter literally grabbed it out of our hand. she was suffocating, she didnt understand what we meant with anything, she didnt catch out leave us alone vibe even when we told her we needed time and would let her know, she should work somewhere where she doesnt need to communicate with people. oh and she called one of us mama the entire time. in a weird creepy unnecessary way. i always tip 20%… but not this day. it wasn’t deserved. if Im paying shes on my time, Im not on hers. We wont be going back there.

Just had an amazing lunch here. The atmosphere is relaxing and friendly. The restaurant is extremely clean. Tables are not on top of eachother, you can just relax and enjoy your own conversation. The goyaza(pork dumplings) were so delicious that we had seconds as an appetizer. My chicken Thai basil tasted extremely fresh and was to the exact spiciness I requested. The udon soup my son had was very good too. We also enjoyed the delicious hot green tea. And the service was perfectly attentive. Just a great experience.

Good Asian Fusion in Warren. It is listed as Japanese but has a Chinese offering as well. Having now had both sides of the menu it seems to work well across the board. Take out, sit in, the experience either way has been satisfyingly good in a town with not a huge list of go to places to eat.

Their General Tso’s chicken is the best I’ve had. It is much more lightly fried than any other place. The sushi is some of the best in NJ. I especially love the Naruto rolls(no rice, wrapped in cucumber with tuna, king crab, and avocado).

Surprised about this restaurant. Didn’t expect it to be so good. Went back twice more. Consistent. Enjoyed the food immensely. Owners not that friendly but didn’t come to socialize with them. Highly recommended.

Pretty good. The food(main courses/entrees) were fine, but the sushi rolls were just alright. Better off going elsewhere for sushi, but if you’re not getting sushi then this place is good!

This is a great option if you are looking for asian food in the warren area. There is a nice ambiance, somewhat dimly lit, good service and great food. We had a variety of dishes, shrimp shumai was great, sushi was great, and the brown sauce was delicious. I usually get their take out, I enjoyed my dine in experience and would definitely recommend this spot as a good find.

Food is ok – sushi is ordinary and utterly unimaginative. every ‘special’ roll is basically a combination of a tempura, spicy tuna or crab. I’ve had some of their other Asian dishes too and they are equally mediocre. The pad Thai could be called Bad Thai — boring and blah. The service is horrific. The waiters — men and women — speak minimal English, don’t know or understand the menu, and cannot explain the different dishes. The women at the front desk speak so fast it’s impossible to understand them, and don’t bother calling for take out; your so rushed through the order you inevitably forget something. When there are so many good sushi restaurants in the area, with knowledgeable and helpful wait staff, I can’t imagine how they keep their doors open.

Love, love, love Aikou. Sushi is consistently good and the menu has a lot of variety with Thai, Chinese and Japanese options. The service is excellent — servers are friendly and attentive. It’s BYOB, family friendly and good for a date night too. Love the atmosphere — modern and clean — and they go out of their way to make their customers feel appreciated. The manager sent our table an appetizer on the house and a second time we visited, dessert for our teen daughters. We enjoy the experience so much, we eat there at least once a week… also had a family member from FL in for a visit and took her there — she asked to go back when she’s in NJ again. Look no further… Aikou is a great dining choice!

Very good. My go to place for sushi. Also enjoy that as a family, some of us can also order Thai and Chinese. They have a great miso black cod, scallion pancakes, hot and sour soup, Thai crispy red snapper, and Imperial shrimp. We eat in often and slo get takeout. Very convenient, int the center of town.

sushi is OK. seaweed salad was not great. neither was the service– it took forever for our waitress to come back for several things, and the language barrier made it impossible for us to clarify an allergy concern. nice atmosphere and byob, but i don’t think it was somewhere i would go back to for sushi.

One of the better sushi restaurants in Warren, NJ. I order take out from here at least one or twice a week. The Magical, Yummy Yummy, Rainbow and Summer rolls are some of my favorites. The staff is friendly and service is quick. The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is casual.

Just ate at Aikou for the first time with my girlfriend and it was great. It’s BYOB so we brought a bottle of sake with us. The place is very clean and open. Before our dinner came, the waiter came over and brought a seafood salad for us that was free of charge, courtesy of one of the sushi chefs. We then shared a sushi dinner for two which came with two specialty rolls. Sushi was extremely fresh, delicious, and plentiful. We finished the meal off with desserts. I had the fried banana with vanilla ice cream and my girlfriend had fried green tea ice cream. We both enjoyed the meal and plan on coming to Aikou again very soon.

I went to aikou with my grandma. Aikou was not the worst but not the best. Aikou was very crowded and the interior was very nice. The first corse came it was the pork Goza. They were very good. The second corse came it was the shrimp and vegetable tempora. the shrimp was very good but it was a poor choice of vegetables. There were potatoes, sweet potatoes, and broccoli. the sushi pizza and sushi came. The sushi would have been good if the seaweed was not so tuff like tape! I think I still have it in my throat and we ate an hour ago! The sushi pizza was good but my grandma had a piece that was fishy and she couldn’t finish it! I think Aikou lost some customers after we ate there! The food was okay but do not go there! This is her granddaughter Kennedy!

I went here for lunch with a friend. Interior was nice and roomy, but we were quite surprised that it was empty during lunch. We ordered Salmon Teriyaki bento box, Yaki Udon with Chicken and some sushi. Our friends recommended this, so we had high hopes. Unfortunately the food in our opinion was just okay. This place is a fusion, so if you are looking for a place that offers a variety of food, you might come in so everybody can have different things.

Great Asian Fusion. I can get good, fresh sushi and the rest of the family can choose from Thai or Chinese based dishes. Eating in is better than takeout(given). The signature Aikou roll is great.

I’ve been here several times but my last visit was one of complete horror. I walked in a day or two after new years to pick up an order I had placed just 30 minutes earlier. I had the spicy maki combo and upon picking it up said to the man at the counter«oh, it’s quiet in here today, huh?» He said it is like this after the holidays. I arrive back at my home 5 minutes later to eat my beloved sushi, half way into my meal I realize that every single roll tasted exactly the same and something just wasn’t quite right. One hour later, My stomach is in severe pain, 2 hours later I am throwing up everywhere, 3 hours later I am in the hospital hooked up to an IV(3 bags altogether) for severe dehydration and had to be sedated because of the pain. Flash forward to two days later, my boyfriend called the restaurant to tell them what had happened to me, in turn they decided to call me from the number they had on file and question me about what I had and then continue to tell me it could not have possibly been their food. I asked the man if i could get off the phone to rest but he continued to tell me how«this has never happened before, no one has ever complained, so it wasn’t their fault» I eventually hung up because nothing I said was right and I was exhausted. They clearly do not have the turn over rate that they should and because of that use the fish that has been lying around all day. I will never go back and I still haven’t eaten sushi since the incident because of an irrational fear that other places might be so cheap to do the same thing. DON’T GO! Mind you, this is not a cheap place either, I’ve had cleaner sushi at shoprite.
