Best Sushi in the area. Cozy restaurant with frequent regulars from town. Sushi is very fresh and consistently awesome. The cooked dishes are also great. We now live out of state and as soon as we get in town, this is our«go to»! One daughter lives on West Coast and says you can’t beat Mr. Pi’s, even in California! Try Red Knight Roll and Spider Roll!

the sushi quality is grade B. a bit on the pricey side but it being BYOB keeps the overall bill down. If you compare it to NYC sushi it is 2 star. If you compare to montclair, morristown or hoboken, it is 3 star. for somerset county, it is 4 star. the service was okay. we did not have any issues but others have. the special rolls are very pricey so when we go, we only order 2 special rolls and then a few standard rolls.

4 of us go here as often as possible when I’m in town and I think all four of us get the salmon sashimi. We also get appetizers and miso soup, but the salmon is the favorite. Great place!

Went on a Saturday. Restaurant was about 50% full. We went with kids and asked when ordering if our items contained wasabi. We were told«no» — all wasabi served on the side. We ordered mostly spicy rolls but made sure we had one specific non spicy roll for the kids. Waited about 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Both kids ate their rolls and became HYSTERICAL. Scratching at their tongues, whining, nearly crying etc. We call the waitress and tell her something on that roll is spicy. She insists repeatedly that it is a non spicy roll. We say that indeed that is why we ordered it but we think there has been a mistake. Without trying the food or taking it back, she continues to insist that there is no way that roll is spicy. Then, suddenly, she remembers that the sauce on that roll contains wasabi. She does not apologize. She simply says that the kitchen prepared it as it should have been prepared and so there was no mistake. We ask her to bring another of the same roll, but without the sauce. When the bill comes, we are charged for that roll twice. Note that we did not eat the wasabi-sauced roll and it was sitting on our table untouched(except for the 2 bites taken by each of the kids). Waitress is rude and unhelpful. We speak to the manager(or owner? I don’t know) and he is indignant. He says it is not the restaurant’s fault that we ordered a roll with wasabi in the sauce. We point out that the menu did not state this AND we also asked before concluding our order to make sure there was no wasabi in the food! After a lot of reasoning, they still refused to take the item off from our bill. I really don’t know why this restaurant has such good reviews. Even without our incident, I would have given 3 stars. The food was ok but it was on the pricey side so it’s not good value. Quality of raw fish is only fair to average. Sushi was prepared with good technique but raw ingredients not good enough to make it shine. Summary — They are unreasonable. Will never go back again.

Me. Pi’s is Manhattan grade sushi. It’s the best I’ve found in n jersey from westfield to Morristown to englewood. The quality of the fish is unparalleled. If there’s a drawback, it’s only that the secrets out. See you there!

This is the only Sushi place my picky son likes, so we order pickup or delivery frequently. 3 Pork Gyoza and 3 California roll for him. I stick with their traditional rolls which are very good, ordering them without the sauce on top. There is one of the few great & reliable places that delivers to Watchung. They are great if you have friends and you need the delivery to be on time.

Not bad, but not excellent. Solid sushi place with a vast sushi roll menu. There are some rolls better than others. We ordered their blue fin tuna sashimi and I wasn’t impressed. I would come back and try their other rolls.

I came here Sunday night with another couple and we were seated right away. Its a BYOB place so we brought our own wine and the waiter opened it up for us right away. I know it seems crazy that I went to a sushi place and don’t eat sushi but everyone I went with loves sushi. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and it was just ok. The teriyaki sauce was drizzled on top of the chicken and id rather the chicken be soaked in the teriyaki. The substituted brown rice for me with no extra charge which was a huge plus! My boyfriend ordered 3 different rolls and he said they all tasted really good. His only complaint was that the rice was very sticky and the sushi seemed to fall apart very easily. The rolls he got were not expensive compared to other places we have been. My girlfriend and her couple got a plate mixed with sushi and sashimi and they thought there dish was over priced. The 4 of us ended up talking and staying after we paid our bill and none of the waiters bothered us. I did not feel rushed to leave and it was a very quiet place. Its a spot I would go to again.

I went to Mr. Pi’s on a Sunday and the crowd was light. We were seated right away and our bottles of wine were immediately opened for us. It’s BYOB obviously. As most sushi restaurants the service itself was mediocre. I don’t know if it’s culture but it always seems like it’s more about the sushi then the service at these places. The food itself was great. I had two specialty rolls and three pieces of sashimi. I thought the specialty rolls were quite big and filling. The sashimi was fresh and you could tell the different textures between the fishes. My only gripe with Mr. Pi is that it is more on the expensive side. Slightly overpriced but for good sushi, I would return. Not something to skimp on. Well done.

It’s BYOB. Very casual dining but high, unexpected prices for above average sushi. I think there are other places in the area that give you better sushi for better prices. However, it’s a «good» sushi place being that the fish is definitely fresh and the sashimi has flavor to it. I got the refreshing roll which has not rice. My fiancé ordered the Ben roll and rainbow roll. You could definitely tell the quality of the fish was better than your average sushi joint. The rice is VERY sticky. I wasn’t blown away but you won’t be too disappointed. Just when you get the check. Unfortunately, this will not become our new sushi joint.

Favorite sushi spot in central jersey, and I’ve tried many! Special shout to to the mexican roll– I will forever appreciate your spicy, crunchy and stuffed to the max deliciousness. The Volcano is another Mr. Pi superstar. A mountain of tuna, salmon and avocado chunks, shredded cucumber with a spicy/sweet sauce on top!

Never eaten in the restaurant but have had takeout several times. What can I say, the sushi is delicious and always tastes very fresh. The Metuchen Roll is my favorite. Their Spicy Tuna is ridiculously good. It’s definitely on the pricier side which keeps me from returning as often as I would like to.

I often get lunch takeout here. Good deal, you get 2 rolls with soup and salad for $ 9. The udon soup is yummy too!

Must start with w a Volcano. After that you can’t go wrong with anything you get. DVD and Metuchen are two of the very best. Mexican is probably my favorite… Everything is fresh. Pi always makes sure everything he serves is fresh and that his costumers always leave satisfied. Love Micahel and Ang… No better sushi place in NJ

I love sushi so just had to try the location ranked as having one of NJ’s best rolls. We had the lobster tempura roll and the eel On eel roll as I can only eat cooked sushi in my current ‘condition’. Delicious! We also ordered an appetizer portion of the fried rice which my daughter enjoyed. Plus the grilled Ika(squid). The squid was tender but not saucy enough for it to feel Japanese street food authentic, frankly we had better at a neighbor’s backyard BBQ. Overall, it was a great meal. I’ll be back for more fancy rolls. Can’t wait until I can eat raw fish again.

I eat here regularly and I always keep coming back simply because the food is very good. Their sushi and rolls are fresh and well made. Best part is the also deliver! Not many places do in Warren. I recommend trying their DVD roll.

Been here multiple times. It’s a nice restaurant with very good sushi. A bit pricey compared to other nearby sushi places that I go to but the quality has always been good. Byob, very friendly service and a nice atmosphere help in regards to the price. I can still remember when my wife was pregnant and we were waiting for a table to open up, the owner brought over a chair for her to sit in and was very warm and friendly to us. The few times we ordered cooked meat/rice dishes it seemed they weren’t quite as top notch as their sushi and sashimi. Definitely the go to here is the raw fish, which is some of the best I’ve had in Jersey.

My first time at the Warren location after several great meals at the Metuchen location. Well, it’s great here too. Even better than Metuchen because the great man himself, Mr. Pi is in residence here. An added extra special treat was that our favorite server from Metuchen, Angie, is also here. We had a bunch of sushi rolls; VCR, Green Tea, something with Kiwi, something with soft shell crab, Splash Roll. All were up to the usual great standard. Best of all was the Tender Tuna Sashimi Roll that was a blackboard special. Even at $ 25 it was well worth it. The tenderest tuna ever stuffed with a bunch of other pieces of fish, a hint of lemon, in another of the delicious sauces that Pi is known for.
