Best sushi ever! But the warren location has closed! Does anyone know if he relocated?

The best. I’ve been going to this place since they were in Westfield. Great new location, fresh take on the menu, personable staff and superb sushi.

Don’t know were the other people ate?
I was so disappointed, more rice then anything else. Half the things you get are frozen and defrosted in microwave.
Salmon eggs shriveled. Tuna Orange not red. Fish not fresh!!!

Loved this place when it was in Westfield and still love it in Warren. The best sushi I’ve ever had, hands down. Try the Blue Moon Roll, Seashore Roll, California Dream Roll. They’re all good! Definitely try this place out, you will not be disappointed.

The best sushi ever! Every single one of Chef Chen’s sushi rolls are creatively put together, each one is different in its own amazing, delicious way. And Chef John is the nicest man! His place makes you so comfortable. I live about 30 – 40 minutes away from Warren and I will gladly make the trip to make Chef Chen’s my regular sushi spot.
One more thing! Make sure to get the Blue Moon Roll! It’s my favorite!

Amazing service and great food. Blue moon and sailor roll are our favorites. The avocado salad is really good too — has crispy rice in it. I would definitely recommend. Byob which is always a plus!

This sushi/​Asian fusion restaurant is simply the best. My fiancé and I frequent this restaurant and order from the all-​you-​can-​eat menu. We order relatively exotic sushi — get the blue moon roll (bathed in a delicious blue moon sauce), crispy California roll, kobe beef roll, and chicken stir fry. I cannot rave about this restaurant enough. It is family owned and the husband and wife are the nicest people. At this point, they know what my fiancé and I like to order and will frequently play around with what we ask for and give us more! I cannot give this place a higher recommendation!

Absolutely love Chef Chen’s. Used to go every weekend when the restaurant was in Westfield. Now we make the 20 min trek out to Warren to have the best sushi in the area. Avocado salad is great. Best rolls are the blue moon, sailor and scorpion rolls. We get these every time. Chef Chens is byob which makes it even better! Service is quick and John is the best! Don’t miss this hidden gem!

Food is DELICIOUS, and they serve GREAT portions. Prices are cheap as well so you’re definitely getting more than what you’re paying for. They have an amazing Shrimp Tempura Roll, but my favorite by far is the miso soup and Teriyaki Chicken. The mixture of vegetables is a GREAT addition. I would recommend to anyone and everyone!

First time customers, and we’ll be back. My wife and I tried Chef Chen’s last night for sushi and were pleasantly surprised. We shared vegetable dumplings, which were deep fried to a crispy exterior without being too oily. We also shared four sushi rolls: spicy salmon, soft shell crab roll, shrimp tempura roll, and a scorpion roll. The most interesting was the scorpion roll which included salmon and scallions, with some tiny shrimp on top which were finished off with a blow torch like the kind a chef might use to create the crisp sugary topping on crème brûlée. This added a unique flavor, almost like the shrimp had been lightly smoked over a fire. The chef was very willing to customize our order to meet our tastes, so we had him add some masago on top of the shrimp tempura roll. All in all, the ingredients were fresh and the staff was very friendly, so we’re probably going to become regulars there. We’ve had sushi at most places in town and this place was among the better ones. The only negative was that the spicy salmon roll wasn’t spicy enough for my tastes, but that’s just a matter of training the chef to make it the way I like it.

Food is great, John was great in his prior establishment in Westfield NJ — Gabi’s Sushi and Noodles. We ate there just about weekly if not more frequently.
Great for private parties as well. Food always coming and all of it especially salads are very good.
I’ve taken people who never ate sushi before and they loved John’s food.
We will be back and recommend to everyone.

Chef Chen’s is a fantastic restaurant, plain and simple! I went yesterday and ordered fantastic Asian Chicken, with Rice and Mushroom Soup with tantalizing seasonings. I also ordered delicious Sashimi, an amazing Salmon Skin Handroll, the Rice was nicely done and Brown Rice (my preference), and they served perfect green tea! After it all, I was presented with a surprisingly small check well under $ 20. What a terrific bargain for such delicious food! The prices are very below the market, yet the food is from Heaven! I had visited this restaurant last year in its former location on Elm Street, in downtown Westfield, NJ, where it was highly popular and known as «Gabi’s Sushi and Noodles» and I was never disappointed. It is owned by Master Sushi Chef John Chen. He moved from Westfield to the present location in Warren, NJ and frankly, all of us in Westfield, NJ who loved Gabis, are now commuting to Warren to eat at Chef Chen’s.
Just to give you an idea: the young couple next to me had ordered an inside out roll platter and liked it so much, they insisted I try a piece. I did. It was a Mango Roll and it was absolutely delicious! I am very impressed as I had not had John Chen’s Mango or Blue Moon Rolls previously (I’m something of a purist!)
While Chef Chen’s is a new place for Warren, NJ, as I mentioned: the owner relocated his former restaurant here from Westfield, NJ where I live. I’ve fallen in love with the place, the service is great and the Owner/​Sushi Chef is extremely skilled and very well thought of by those who actually have eaten there. Try it and decide for yourself!
He’s been open only a month but he deserves a Zagat 5 Star Rating, he pays keen attention to detail of the food, his place is immaculate, the service is fast and the food is always at a proper temperature and properly prepared. And delicious.
The New Sushi Bar and Tables are very comfortable to sit at for groups up to 12, and the large private parking lot very ample for a crowd. The lighting is relaxed and the environment very soothing. You can dress casual or dress up. In case you were looking for a good place to get Sushi, Sushi Rolls, Hand Rolls, Sashimi, Specialty Rolls, Asian Soups and Noodles and all kinds of Asian and Thai style Asian Fusion and Chinese dishes: I’m willing to drive over a half hour from Westfield, just to get here for the quality Sushi and Asian Fusion, as Chef Chen’s is fantastic! You won’t regret eating there…

Don’t waste your time or money. The veggie rolls were decent at best and the rainbow roll was inedible. Totally unimpressed. Suppose I should have known better considering this place has closed and reopened under 3 different names in the past couple of years…
