Bennie’s is a fantastic local joint that flies below the radar on some nights and soars above it on others. Great ambience, friendly staff, and a large bar make Bennie’s a must visit if your local. If your not a local, Friday and Saturday nights are always hopping!

The service at the bar is absolutely awful. The girl working the bar has such an attitude, acting like she was doing us a favor. We brought in a good amount of people for a birthday and we were waiting at least 20 minutes for drinks. I wish I didn’t waste my time here after paying for a babysitter and planning on a night out.

This place was wonderful, loved my drinks and great staff warm fun friendly, bartender made a Mai tai that was out of this world. The bar snacks were very refreshing, a place to go.

Not a bad place but not a great place. I’ve been here a couple times, sometimes the bartenders will get you a drink in a timely fashion and other times they take forever even though there will be five people there. Tiki drinks are good, crowd sometimes not.

Great place to grab a drink with some friends! I am rather new to this bar, I have been maybe 5 or 6 times but I love it! Newly remodeled and the new arrangment is great! Great bartenders and quick service! Love all the different drinks, I have yet to try the food but hopefully will get to try it next time I stop by, hopefully sometime this week!

I needed to kill two hours while waiting for a train back to the City from Berkeley Heights. A quick search revealed this town has only one bar near the train station, and it was a tiki bar. Not usually my first choice, but I figured I’d give it a shot. I am SO happy that I did, because this place is awesome. They have a small selection of some good craft beers, but you should have a cocktail here since that’s kind of the point of a tiki bar. Most of them were priced at $ 8, which you can’t beat. The mai tai went down nicely, and for dinner I had the negamaki cheesesteak and split an order of wings. All of it was delicious. Kind of wish I had a reason to return to this town to go back to this place. The bartender(owner?) was great company, too.

The food was great but the service was horrible! Everything was so slow which would have been fine since I was with friends and enjoying catching up but the server disappeared and the place was slow. She never would come back and see if we needed anything. Probably would get take out in the future. But not recommend eating there.

Susan kicked us out early, it was only 10 o’clock and she told us it was closing time. The wine was good and so was the atmosphere but the bartender was making her own rules and turning people away that actually wanted to drink. She made the company lose money and had a bratty attitude

My husband and I had heard of this place from friends in our neighborhood. We already have a few favorite sushi places so hadn’t gotten around to trying out this one. Finally had a chance to try it out tonight and fell in love with it. There is a spacious dining room and sushi bar downstairs with a very cool and also spacious Polynesian themed tiki bar upstairs. We went on a rainy Friday night so it wasn’t super busy and opted to sit upstairs in the bar. You can get the full menu there, as well. We tried out a couple of the tiki style cocktails and weren’t disappointed… strong and evocative of a warmer setting than rainy NJ and served in fun glasses that reminded me of a Brady Bunch episode with Greg, surfing and a certain idol… We opted for the sushi/sashimi boat for two. It was really good quality sushi. Texture and flavor were excellent and the«crazy» roll was fantastic. I also got the seaweed salad. Had a really nice, slightly spicy flavor, really nice texture. I also thought the price was excellent — especially for the quality of the sushi. We paid about the same amount for a plentiful boat of sushi and two drinks as we would have at our favorite BYO place — not including wine. Bottom line: one of our new favorite places. Great atmosphere with options for traditional dining or enjoying a funky bar experience, backed up by fabulous food. We also thought the service was great! We’ll be back for sure.

Great spot! Drink specials and tiki vibe is outstanding. The sushi portion is amazing as well, fresh and reasonable. The service is great and I would recommend everyone go in and see what Bennie has cooking, from the punch to the Zombie Killer… a good time is guaranteed to be had

This place is an awesome hang out spot that straddles the segway between«awesome» and«wicked.» A very relaxed atmosphere and attentive knowledgeable bartenders that know«what’s up» with the drinks. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good spot to hang out, have a good time and drink your worries away. Ask for Jerry, he’ll hook it up

So relaxing! Great service and food. Love the music, the food, the fireplace and the bartenders. Next time I am going to reserve the private room! I like red leather with my «Leilani Volcano»…

We went with friends to this lounge and had a blast! The drinks were great and the food go rave reviews by all four of us. The bartender was so sweet and attentive. We are going again and bringing all of our friends. Live music would make it even better! Love love love this place!!!

What a cool find! A Polynesian style Tiki Bar upstairs from a Japanese/Sushi restaurant, that has big screen TVs, a cool vibe with couches and a fireplace, and a bartender that is a total mixologist that knows his drinks! The food, from the restaurant downstairs, is very good… from the Gyoza and Miso Soup, to all 6 of our entrees… the Chicken with Garlic Sauce was mentioned as a standout. I would recommend Nagoya to anyone… especially the upstairs area. check it out!
