I have been here many times over the years. Great place for seafood. Their lobster salad, calamari, stuffies & chowder are all delicious. Service at the bar is very slow though.

«Call ahead seating» usually means you call ahead, and get seated when you get there. If you tell your customers when they get there on time for their reservation that they’ll have to wait at least an additional half hour… why bother calling ahead? Poor customer service, and we’re not likely to be back any time soon.

This is a good place to take your grandmother, definitely caters to an older clientele. Small portions available. Diner like ambiance. If I went again, I would try the sandwiches instead of seafood.

Love this place for all seasons! The last time we went, we had a most amazing experience! The lobsters we ordered were huge, flavorful, very hard shelled & the best I’ve ever had. We had to send them in to get them cracked open. The server was friendly & quite helpful. We go out a lot and love seafood, so we have discerning taste. Don’t miss the renowned crows nest for great dining fun!

Old people ville, so so menu, nothing special. Wait staff was super friendly though. Our food was decent but not note worthy. Better options available

Met a friend for a quick lunch and hadn’t been in years. Love the old world charm, and friendly service. The lobster roll was amazing. Clam cakes and chowder are staple

Greeted at first by the overwhelming smell of seafood and grease. We almost immediately left, but as we were a large group and it was getting late. we stayed. The place was essentially empty except for one table and despite they could have sat us anywhere they squeezed us into the corner directly next to and inches next to the only other people in the room. The waitress was sweet and attentive. The food was good one lady in our group ordered a lobster roll and it was large and full of lobster. I liked that the chicken parmesan was crisp and the sauce was not«faux Italian» one person did have to send her burger back for being over cooked, but the fixed it quickly. Over all I can see how this place could be a local«where everybody knows your name» place…

Very good seafood at reasonable prices. Mixed drinks were okay. Try the steamers or fresh fish specials. Didn’t love the New England chowder, & surprised they don’t have Rhode Island chowder. Good place overall!

Small local place on the water in Warwick, RI. Recommended by the desk clerk at the hotel. Not a place I would have found on my own. Based on the recommendation and some of the reviews I had high expectations for this place. I’m not sure what has been wrong with me the last few weeks, but my food selections have just proven poor. I ordered the seafood platter, and I should have known better because it was all fried. I don’t eat a lot of deep fried food, but the people next to me had it, and it smelled so good. I started with the New England Clam Chowda. This was the dish that the girl at the hotel said was to die for. It was thick and creamy, but I probably saw maybe 1 tiny clam in the whole bowl. Mostly a bowl of diced under done potatoes. I ended up having to use Tabasco sauce to give it any flavor. The seafood platter was cod, shrimp, bay scallops and clam strips. The greasiest thing that I have attempted to eat in the last five years. I love fish and chips, so I figured that at least the cod would be good. How they got the inside so mushy I will never know. You couldn’t even cut it, it just mushed out of the coating onto the plate. Pretty much the same for the rest of the food. If this is what they consider great seafood in Rhode Island, give me CA anytime. If not for the atmosphere, location and friendly service this would have been one star.

I went to this restaurant last night for my mom’s birthday. It is one of her favorites so we gave it a try. First impression was that the atmosphere was super loud. I did not care for the fact that we had to yell to hear each other. When we sat, our waitress was very casual and you could tell she had been there for a long time. When we ordered, she asked about sides and mentioned broccoli au groton. My fiancé said yes but without the cheese — her response was very cocky«So you want steamed broccoli not broccoli au groton». My biggest pet peeve is when a waitress corrects a customer and makes them feel belittled. All she had to say was«Okay». When we got out fried calamari, I did not like the fact that it came with tartar sauce instead of marinara sauce. For a seafood place, I was surprised. I ordered the stuffed chicken for my entrée and did not like it at all. It was too dry and bland. The broccoli au groton(with cheese) was amazing though! My mom had a great birthday and thoroughly enjoyed her veal cutlet with gravy(which I stole half because I didn’t like mine). I don’t think I will be dining here again in the near future :/

Called in an order around 5:45 to pick up at 6:15 for our plans to eat in the boat, we been there before few times. here are my notes on this place: 1– Next to the marina, good parking, not a big view though 2– Food always good, especially summer like seafood. Hot and good. 3– went in to pick up our food and the lady that works the hostess stand, just not a happy person, no smiles, not friendly, not excited. A young female worker was in charge of getting my food which was all good, for about 5 minutes late, no problem though for hot food, she packed everything very well, utensils and all. The unhappy hostess, she was nice to other older folks coming in, but generally unhappy with no smile, wrong person to be in this role. 4– Food was great. Got to boat, well packed, plenty of napkins and utensils. I am not very patient for unhappy service.

We had a wonderful waitress who was especially attentive to the fact that my two year old came along. She also did what most waitresses don’t and held our dinner order until after we finished our appetizer so that we would have a little space between courses! It was quiet when we went to lunch, but the nachos were fantastic, the clam chowder was okay. There were more potatoes than clam but at least it was creamy and good. And I had the boiled lobster, which was very well-presented but it did not have all the meat included. However, it was less of a mess because they cut some of it up for you. I would return again to try some of their other dishes– each meal comes with two sides and a soup or salad so it’s a great amount of food!

If you are looking for a no frills, cozy, inexpensive, delicious seafood joint, this is definitely the place! I tried the swordfish skewers with pickled beets, rice, and a dark lager. My total price came to under $ 20! Others in my party had the swordfish steak, the seafood platter, and the surf and turf. All reported their tickets were lower than expected and with excellent food. I recommend this place highly and will return the next time I’m in Warwick…

We live not too far away, but have never been to The Crow’s Nest til this past Saturday. They don’t take reservations unless you have an unusually large party, but they do have a call-in system, whereby you call ahead at 5:00 pm(this was for a Saturday night, and the place was PACKED!) put your name on their list for the time you’d like to arrive, then arrive on time and you will be seated ahead of those who just show up — we had a 15 minute wait, which was totally acceptable. Now, for the important information: Our waitress, Laurie(LS) was perhaps the best waitress I have ever encountered in RI! She was friendly, nice, fast, efficient, helpful and did I say nice and lovely! The place was packed, every table full, and she took the time to comply with every single request, pronto. She even brought one of my lobster claws back to the kitchen to crack for me, when I had a little difficulty. She tied my lobster bib around my neck. They don’t come much better than Laurie! Also important information: The food was fabulous. I can see why the restaurant was packed. I had the lobster dinner and my hubby had a bouillabaisse-type dish chock filled with huge pieces of shellfish, with red sauce, served over linguine. Both meals were fantastic. They came with choice of soup or salad, potato and vegetable. My baked potato was SO perfect — really baked, not microwaved like I usually have at my house! :-). The spinach side dish was so great, I wish I knew how it was made, and my lobster was succulent. Our chowder was delicious — we both ordered the red. I had some of my hub’s dinner and I am for sure ordering it next time. I also had a vodka gimlet which was really wonderful and it came with a little extra portion served in a little bottle(which I do not know the name of!) and which I love because it feels like I am getting two drinks! In summary, I think you can’t go wrong dining at The Crow’s Nest. Great food, great service, and not too expensive prices.

I had high hopes for Crows Nest– hidden away in a marina and right in the water, their location is gorgeous. But when I stepped inside and sat down, it was a flashback to an Jersey diner– and not really a good one. The staff here was very nice. They were lovely and took great care of us. The food, on the other hand, is mediocre at best. We started off with some clam chowder and clam cakes. The chowder was fine, if a little underseasoned, but the clam cakes were dense and mostly bread– there was hardly and clam. But they didn’t taste bad, just okay. Then we had the clams casino. That was easily the worst dish I’ve had in a while– the whole thing was mush. Literally, I took it out of the shell and it was pure mush. It tasted a little sour, and we sent it back right away. Our server was apologetic and took it off our bill without our asking. Finally, for our meals I had the lobster roll and my boyfriend had the fried seafood dinner. Mine was okay. The fries were crispy and the lobster took was alright, if a little uninspired. His was a step down– everything was fried alright, but it was bland. Neither was worth the price they were charging– $ 20 for his and $ 17 for mine. Overall, the staff is nice, but the food seems to be catered to 80 year olds. Crows Nest needs an update and a little inspiration!

I love this place! While I often suffer from«food regret» — this never happens to me at the crows nest! Everything is delicious but I love the ½ lobster roll and chowder combo. I highly recommend this place. Recently, my parents were in town on a snowy Valentine’s Day weekend and they were able to provide the perfect venue for a larger party to have dinner on a traditionally romantic night. Best of all they even gifted the ladies with pink flowers, what a great touch!

Seafood was fresh, the broiled scrod, calamari, and the fried scallops and clams were delicious. The portions are plentiful with soup or salad that comes with every meal. Our server, Vanessa, was very attentive and recommended dinners based on what we were looking for. The décor is very old just like the clientele but if you are looking for good food and great service it is worth it. We went on a Sunday night around 6pm and there was no wait(I know others have said there is always a wait so maybe that time is good as the old people eat early on a Sunday)

The Crow’s Nest will leave you wanting more; although the food was good, I was not impressed enough to consider returning. The menu is dominated by seafood, and the portion sizes are reasonable considering the $ 15 – 18 price range for most entrees. Personally, I felt each menu item was slightly overpriced, but business is booming for this little restaurant, so they won’t be coming down anytime soon. We were hungry, so we set out for an early dinner, arriving around 5:15PM and both parking lots were nearly full. There is a very large older crowd that seems to come early, for the restaurant cleared out by the time we left. The food came out in a reasonable time after the order was placed, but service was slow and inattentive otherwise. Our waitress seemed slow to take our order and slow to bring the check. I ordered the Seafood Sauté which was pretty good; it had a large variety of seafood. I expected it to come with an Alfredo-based sauce, rather than the thin white sauce that it came with. The white sauce seemed to compliment the fish well, but the pasta tastes very plain by comparison. It was served with a cup of chowder, which was delicious, and dinner rolls were also brought to the table. Overall, the food was good, but the Crow’s Nest did not impress me, and I’m unlikely to return.

I had the half lobster roll, cup of chowder, and two clam cakes… all of which were very delicious. The service was attentive and friendly — I met my family and arrived pretty late. I ordered after they had already done so, yet all of our food was served together and quickly. Amazing! I’ll admit, I had relatively low expectations from this place, judging by the outdated décor. It reminded me of one of those family restaurants that cater to the older crowd with boring, bland food. I was proven wrong! Pleasantly surprised by the taste as well as the reasonable pricing. Kudos!
