I went to NBX on May 1st2016sundy around 130 pm looking for a BMX bike for my girlfriends son. The sales person on the floor asked me if he could help me with anything. I said we were looking for a BMX bike. At that point he told me that he only has a few in Stock and he has inventory in 2 other stores but limited. He pointed at each individual bike and tell me that he only had 2 in stock that would fit him. The first bike was an average BMX bike at around $ 350. The other bike was a higher-end bike. I had to ask the price. It was priced at around $ 750. Apparently he didn’t feel that that was the proper bike for my girlfriend’s son. First question is what kind of bike are we looking for and I told him a BMX bike and that’s as far as it went. We have been shopping for a bike for quite some time now and we were looking for a high-end BMX bike. If you had to put a price range I was looking to spend anywhere from $ 700 to $ 1,500. This is where the problem started. He didn’t get into and ask any questions about what we were looking for in detail. Then he assumed that I didn’t want a high-end BMX bike or spend the money of the bike he had in stock. We all know the saying don’t judge a book by it’s cover. This is a classic Act of that. I would have purchased that bike if the person working there would of done his job. We didn’t even get that far. I walked out. I will never go back.

Nice to have a local shop that actually has a decent inventory of parts as well as clothing. I always end up here to pick up random parts whether it’s CO2 cartridges, Stan’s tubeless parts, GU energy gel, or a 29er tube. It’s also that shop where you can walk in and find nice XC mtb shoes in size 45EU in stock for that ride later today!

Recently moved here from Portland Maine and I think I’ve found my go to shop. Staff knows their stuff, and was super helpful in getting me some directions and advice as far as local roads go. Looks like this particular shop is a Trek and Felt dealer, but obviously they will service any bike. Rating 5 stars because I haven’t had any work done yet, the helpful and knowledgeable staff added a lot of value to my few visits. Looking forward to them doing group rides out of this location. To the people complaining because they didn’t treat an ‘inherited’ customer base well: it’s a completely different business, they don’t owe you free tune ups on a bike you didn’t purchase from them. That’s absurd.

Now that they’ve been under new ownership I am deeply disappointed. Bought my bike from Casters and was delighted to have a lifetime of free tune ups… Feel a bitter taste in my mouth now that NBX has discontinued that offer. Feels like they don’t respect the customer base they have inherited. I’ll be taking my future bike-buying business elsewhere.

Dissapointed with this bike store from the fact that I received terrible customer service. And by terrible I mean basically non existent. No hello when walking in the store and couldn’t get someone to help us after waiting 20 minutes in the store. Will not be going back, recommend East Prov. Bike instead.

Stopped in to NBX Bikes in Warwick, RI(formerly Caster’s Bicycle Shop) this morning to pick up my son’s mountain bike that was in for a repair(brakes and general tune-up.) I asked about a bike rack for my SUV hitch and Dave, one of the staff members at NBX, showed me a Yakima system that will accommodate up to 5 bikes. Not only was Dave super knowledgeable about the bike rack, he also took the time to help me install it in my hitch and put my son’s bike on it. Dave is great! Thanks NBX!
