LOVE this place!!! My husband craves the muscles. The baratta melts in your mouth. Everything we’ve had has been top notch. The owner is always walking around to make sure everything is to your liking. It’s hard to find a place where they really care like they do here.

We come from Bergen County so we’re very particular about our Italian. We decided to try it out tonight and got the Italian combo. Best we’ve had since moving up here. We’ve tried many other places but nothing has really«hit the spot.» I will never go anywhere else. Haven’t tried the pizza yet, but we have friends from the Ramsey NJ area that will come up here just for their pizza. The staff was very nice and attentive. Even the pizza chef asked us if we needed help while we were waiting.

On a whim, I stopped in to get a lunch to-go, a chicken Caesar salad. It was huge, first of all, and it was, by far, the best salad of that kind I have ever had anyplace. I’ll be back! I took a menu with me and there’s lots I want to try.

My wife and I wanted to go to our usual pizza place in West Milford, but it was just too far she had to stay close to town today so we gave this place a try. The pizza was a bit weak too much dough and not enough cheese, but there was a lot of sauce. The ratio of cheese, sauce, and dough was just off. Easy fix, but I’m sure it will never happen, oh well move onto the next place.

Best Pizza in Warwick, NY! My husband and I got a slice from four pizza places in town. We kept disagreeing on what place had the best. I said Frank’s and he said FraNico’s. We were both shocked to realize we were both wrong. Luca pizza won us over with the extra oregano that they blend in with the cheese. It was just enough to give it a fresh taste. Our rating was 1st place Luca, 2nd FraNico’s, 3rd Frank’s and last Bravo. My husband didn’t even finish the slice from Bravos pizzeria and he’ll eat anything. Do your own taste test but I think you might agree. Luca is our new take out Pizza Place.

Best Pizza in Warwick We tried this place out for a slice & spaghetti and found the sauce tasty and the quality good. Sitting in the front with a couple kids and their coach from a local softball team enjoying a good NY slice. After over 2 years in the area, we had now found our favorite pizza place. Lo & behold there is a little«dining room» in the back. It is a bit kitschy, but that is part of the charm. The wait staff is friendly and yes portions are big. The summer salad is delish and pizzas & pasta dishes have good flavor. Family friendly, so there are often kids in the dining room also. They have no liquor license, but are happy to uncork and pour a bottle of wine if you bring one(ps. There is a liquor store right next door). There are soooo many Italian restaurants in the Warwick area, but if you do not want the formality of Viviano’s(very good & pricey) this is the only other place worth going to for Pizza, pasta and favorite Italian entrees.

We have been eating pizza here for a year or so and decided to give the restraunt a try. To be honest i was surprised to find that the quality of what we ordered was not what we are used to as far as the pizza goes. Started out with an order of fried calamari that was obviously frozen as the calamari was quite rubbery. My next dish was veal francese. Veal was cooked nicely but veal was not tender as one would expect. Furthermore the dish came with a side of pasta and potatoes. Thought it strange to be served a double order of starch. Who eats potatoes with pasta? A green vegetable would have been more appropriate in my opinion. That being said i will stick to ordering pizza and skip the sit down side of this establishment.

If there was a negative star I would’ve put that but unfortunately there wasn’t. The food here is absolutely disgusting. Please do not order if you are looking for Italian food. I orderd chicken parm in which the chicken had a lot of fat on it causing it to be very rubbery. I then ordered jalapeño poppers in which it tasted like raw bacon. I would not recommend eating here nor ordering any take out for the food has no flavor and is not real Italian food. Please beware and order elsewhere.

We had an order for pick up. I ordered the GF penne vodka which was disappointing; the pasta was overcooked and fell apart, the sauce lacked flavor, & was very expensive totaling $ 20 for just that dish. We also ordered chicken fingers for the kids which was a thin chicken cutlet sliced into slivers that was rather flavorless. The pizza was okay. Not the best but certainly not the worst either. The best part was the salad. We ordered their version of the house salad which had a large variety of toppings.

By day, this place is a bustling pizzeria; at night, Luca’s offers so much more. The triangular pizza by the slice that is ubiquitous to those of us from the Northeast is one of those things(like pie and hamburgers) that people have a very specific preference as to the way it needs to be prepared. For instance, some people believe that pizza should have a thin crunchy crust, while others believe pizza should have a more chewy crust. For some of us it’s little cheese, others prefer very cheesy. Of course, for some of us, it should be a sweet tomato sauce, while others need a tangy sauce with a spicy hint of oregano. I have my preference and I’m sure you do too. Regardless of your preference, Luca’s makes very good pizza. But when the dinner bell starts to ring, Luca’s is much more than your standard pizzeria — it is a Tale of Two Pizzerias. It’s perfectly acceptable to eat from the complete menu in the ‘pizza room’, but when you walk through the ‘pizza room’ from the front of the restaurant to the back, it’s hard to believe the pleasing ambiance of a dining room of fewer than 40 seats –only open for dinner — with walls adorned with a hodge-podge of typical and modern art, shelves with faux candles, and a gaudy mural. Truly, a simple curtain divides a standard pizzeria from an oasis that serves more than a mirage — the fare here is very good and is very good value. First, let me get over a few of my pet peeves — you cannot order a slice of pizza in the ‘formal’ dining room. I know that a slice of pizza is ‘de classe’ when you’re trying to serve upscale entrées, but a whole pizza can be ordered in the dining room, so it’s not as if pizza is not allowed, just not allowed by the slice. I understand this limitation for adults, but children should be able to order a slice of pizza if mom & dad are eating a full meal. What makes this really silly, Luca’s serves so much food that there is likely enough food for a child to pick from the adult plate(see side of pasta in paragraph below). But I ask rhetorically, why does Luca’s prefer that an adult split a $ 14 pizza with their insistent child, rather than order a $ 20 special and a $ 2 slice of pizza? So in the end, the ‘no pizza by the slice’ policy in the more formal dining room may be costing Luca’s revenue at the expense of effectively maintaining two restaurants in one place. Also, is there a reason American’s have to have a side of pasta along with their entrée? Why must Americans insist on Veal Picatta(or every other entrée) served with roasted vegetable and potato also come with a bowl of pasta? And when a person is finished eating a full portion of pasta in a bowl(i.e., spaghetti with meatballs), why must there be two cups of sauce still at the bottom? A ‘free’ salad is given at Luca’s, but a few pieces of iceberg lettuce(not given for take-out) topped with a few bits of canned olives and marinated bell peppers just seems out of place in a dining room that prevents a slice of pizza from being served. If excellent gluten-free rigatoni pasta is available, I cannot understand the rule at Luca’s that requires it only be offered as a full plate, never as a side(see paragraph above). Plainly and simply, the Servers/Waiters all seem to have their own understanding of how to serve and/or charge for gluten-free pasta. And the last of my peeves, since Luca’s was never designed to be a full-service restaurant, the service is sometimes spotty. It always seems as if the staff is running(literally) back-and-forth to complete their tasks. If you do not know some of these things going in to Luca’s, then your meal might not taste as good as it should. But if you can get past the pizza-by-slice rule, the gluten-free pasta rule(s), the disappointing salad, the side of pasta that comes with your complete entrée, and the sometimes over-sauced cuisine, Luca’s actually serves some very tasty food at reasonable prices. The delicious Mussels in Tarragon Cream cost nearly as much to prepare at home as it appears on the special menu. The wonderful Calamari Genovese tossed in a lemon sauce(had too much sauce) was a treat. I dare you to finish eating both Meatballs served with traditional Marinara Sauce over Spaghetti. And for my money, the Veal Piccatta with Capers is prepared with far less sauce than the Marasla that lacks the punch of Marsala. The food must be very good, because in spite of the foibles, we still go back. It might have something to do with the BYO(bring your own) beverage policy. 2-stars: Minus one star for all the rules, minus another for too much sauce, minus two-stars for a rude owner… add one back for BYO.

While waiting for our movie time at the drive-in my boyfriend and I came here for a bite to eat. He ordered individual slices and I had the personal pizza. It only comes Margherite style but it was very good and I ate all of it. The garlic bread leaves a lot to be desired, but it hit the spot since we were starving.

This is my first time at this restaurant since it’s changed hands(and it’s name). I ordered the special pizza(the works, sans anchovies). I have to say it was excellent. As are many places in Warwick, this place is pricey. Toppings are $ 2.50 a piece, sandwiches are about the same as other places though. The people working there were very pleasant and friendly. The specials actually looked pretty good, so maybe next time I’ll try dine-in.
