Amazing! The food here is simply amazing. I’ve been to a few other hibachi places in RI and Shogun is my favorite. I always order the Filet Mignon and chicken. The steak is so soft and juicy. I have a seafood allergy but they accommodate me and prepare the shrimp at the end of the meal so that it doesn’t touch my food. The portions are huge! Enough for a whole other meal afterwards. The chefs are all friendly and put on a great show. Come during the week(Monday-Thursday) and the fried rice is included with your meal. Try the fried ice cream at the end if you have room for it. Although with the size of the portions I doubt that.(Tell them it’s your birthday or a special occasion and you’ll likely get the ice cream for free lol)

A friend and I were vacationing from Maine, and we drove past this restaurant on the way to our hotel. I checked it out on Unilocal, and we decided to check it out due to the good reviews. The portion sizes were massive! The scallops were to die for. The rice was flavorful and the drinks potent. We had a very nice chef, he didn’t do the whole«show» but that’s not really why we were there. Another chef seemed to be more boisterous, and everyone around us sounded as if they were having fun. A surf/turf dinner with a drink for about $ 40, and it was well worth it! Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!

I typically only come here for special occasions because of the prices. This trip cost the 5 of us just over $ 300. We all shared an order of rice and garlic noodles, and each had our own dishes, nothing ridiculous. As always, the food is pretty good and loved the entertainment. Our chef today(I missed his name, but it wasn’t Soli or Odi) was great, probably the best I’ve seen by far. He even went out of his way to specially prepare my dish when all I asked was that he keep the fat on my steak. The waitresses were great, all friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place for the hibachi, the sushi is overpriced and not the best Ive had.

I came here for the first time, about a week ago and it was delicious. Huge portions and everything was wonderful. The highlight was by far the firecracker sushi roll, I highly recommend!

No reservation needed. Place was recommended by a friend. Salad dressing was good, Miso soup ok, had Scallop hibachi dinner. Scallops were good. Too many onions. Garlic noodles everyone recommends a major disappointment. Wife had sushi, she was not impressed. Said«taste like nothing» not a good sign. It was ok, but won’t be coming back. Ambiance too many kids, too loud in dining area/sushi bar. Service a but slow but ok. Overall, nothing special just ok pricey food.

Let me just say I absolutely love this place! For starters the wait staff is amazingly nice and so welcoming. My fiancé and I have been coming here every other week(or so) for the last ~6 months and all the waitresses in the sushi area always remember us and bring us fried ice cream at the end of our meal(on the house)! I can only comment on the sushi because that’s all we ever come here for, but I have been to probably 30 – 40 different restaurants and this is by far my favorite. Their speciality rolls are awesome and their traditional rolls are on par with most sushi places. My girl Jessica is legit the best waitress I’ve ever had the pleasure of being around! She is such a happy person she makes you want to be around her! As a side note the Sho gun in Wakefield, RI is just as nice! Super awesome staff and same great menu! Definitely try this place if you are in the area and looking for some awesome sushi!

One of the best spots in warwick to eat. Watch a nice little show as you get hibachi style service with a smile always. There’s a few really good guys that work there. Owners son is one of them. He’s outstanding! One new kid spilled a drink all over wife one time and stained her drink. If every an issue call the owner. They will take care of it. There chicken/Filet is big enough to split between 2 people Add some noodles and fried rice and your good.

If you’re hungry and you want the best hibachi in town Shogun is definitely your place to go! Everytime I go there I get huge portions the wait staff is very friendly and the food is amazing! The simple salad with the ginger dressing is so good that I drink the dressing out of the bottom of the bowl when I’m done(embarrassing I know but true). My girlfriend and I love this place. When we go there usually get soli jr as a cook and he is funny as he is talented! Bruce is also one of our favorites. I would recommend the shrimp hibachi but I’m sure it’s all good because everything I’ve ever tried there has been great!

Easily one of the worst sushi and hibachi spots my husband and I have ever been to, and we have traveled all 50 states! Expectations were at 4 stars, based on reviews, and we came out thinking we will never return, ever! We went there on a Thursday night, and this place was getting crowded. We opted to sit in the sushi section where it was less noisy, even though I wanted hibachi. My husband ended up ordering sushi, and it was nice we got to share the food. The sushi area got really noisy when several parties arrived waiting to get seated in the hibachi section, and it was overall not a pleasant dining experience. Typically, restaurants like these have separated sections(one of sushi and one for hibachi) for a reason. Now, let’s get to the food: The sushi was disgusting, mainly because the sushi rice was prepared poorly. It was too thick for our liking. The sauces for the special rolls were frankly very bland, and the hibachi was gross! I did not even take the leftovers home(and I usually do). I ordered the noodles on the side, which was a mistake because they were the cheap kind too! We were really looking forward to some good Japanese food, but this place really caters to the rowdy Rhode Islanders who don’t know what solid fresh sushi and good tasting Japanese is all about. Very disappointed. I am very sorry to report that this place is not what is seems to be… it’s too hyped up by fellow Unilocalers and for the price of sushi and hibachi, it is SO not worth it. We are still trying to find a good hibachi and sushi spot after moving to the area in May 2015. Any other suggestions are welcome:)

My friend suggested shogun enough times that I finally went. The grill room was maybe 20 percent full, and it sounded like a Patriots home game. Kids screaming, spatulas clanging, and every ten minutes… Drums beating. I wanted hibachi, but it was too loud so I sat at the sushi bar. I still could not hear my Brother on the phone. My sushi — 8 pieces and a rainbow roll was $ 30. Tea was $ 3. I had a good, strong, hot bowl of miso soup. Then a salad with an extremely salty and tart dressing. Not the ginger dressing most places give you. My sushi wasn’t bad. The fish was a little firm, which is odd, and it didn’t taste of much. The mackerel tasted of too much, probably because the chef left the bloodline in. My waitress, sensing my displeasure, gave me a complimentary scoop of fried ice cream. It was a nice gesture but… The breading tasted funny, and between that and the salad dressing, I was really put off from wanting to go back. I left $ 41 and think it was a lot for the experience. If you want to go for the show at the grills, fine. People were enjoying it. I didn’t like what I had so much.

Disappointed. Maki rolls were inconsistent in sizes, pieces were enormous. Hibachi was full of vegetable with a small side of white rice. Nothing special.

*ground shakes* *pops head out of dirt* WHATYEARISIT?! Yes, it’s been a bit of a hectic Unilocal dryspell but I have returned to lay the smackdown on my #1 food group and eventual cause of death by food coma — sushi. Enter Shogun: A name synonymous with hibachi and japanese cuisine in likely any state you scour. This particular Shogun you ask? Why certainly! In a nutshell: ‘sarrite. The Hibachi side of things is pretty standard from what I remember, albeit it has been quite a few moons since I’ve been on this side of this restaurant. The sushi is really more of a rolled rice ball with fish fragments that seemingly fell into the mix. Seriously, the carb to fish ratio was way out of whack. But, I have had far worse sushi and may be spoiled from too many binge sessions at Sakura on Wickenden. Unfortunately, the real downfall that brings about the 3-star rating here is emptiness of my wallet after a quick bite. 3 Maki rolls(the largely rice ones) will run you a tab of roughly $ 17-$ 18, on the extremely low end. A California roll is over $ 5, which is just a bit redonkulous in this humble sushi snob and poor 20-something’s opinion. I’d be more understanding if it was something special, but this Jefferson Blvd. roadside hideaway may have a false sense of quality inflation here. However, service is always with a smile and promptly on-point. Despite my critical outlook, if the price point is no issue and you are looking for a decent Hibachi dinner without hitting Providence or South County(for all you Cranston — Warwick dwellers), Shogun will do the trick for now.

This is my favorite restaurant ever! I’ve been going there since it opened years ago and still love it! The garlic noodles are fantastic and I’m in love with the ginger sauce. No other hibachi has been able to come close to Shogun. Sushi is alright. Nothing fancy.

First off: We used to be semi-regular customers, but due to a financial situation, we hadn’t been to Shogun in a couple of years. We went yesterday(coincidentally on Mother’s Day) and the woman there instantly recognized us and asked where we had been and that she missed us! Wow! Service was beyond excellent! We never had to look for anyone — severs were always around, ready to take our order, clear, etc. Food was great! My partner has sushi and I had hibachi. He absolutely enjoyed his meal — said that it was the best he had in a long time. My hibachi scallops were fantastic. If you don’t like crowds or eating with strangers, ask to eat at the sushi bar area on the left. They have tables and if you’d like to watch your sushi being made, sit at the sushi bar. Just great!!!

Loved it as always. I am never disappointed by this place. We went for my aunt and uncles dual birthday party dinner. There were four of us and we decided against the hibachi and stuck with the dining room. It was quiet and had a tv. We ordered tasty drinks made with all kinds of different rum and sake combos. The list for apps was long so we tried and couple like steamed veggie dumplings and tempura, the soup was also good. I guess we went a little crazy with the rolls but we just couldn’t decide! The Dragon roll was my fav. it was spicy and crunchy but the avocado and cucumber cooled your mouth. Perfect and pretty looking too. Must have been like six rolls out there. They gave a two fried ice creams and played the drums. Too bad you cant upload videos to Unilocal… This place is good for an occasion, but calm enough for dinner after work.

This is our absolute favorite place to eat. The garlic noodles are the stuff dreams are made of. The house salad with ginger dressing is so good. Sushi and Hibachi are great. New have been here a dozen times and never had a lackluster experience. Our favorite dishes: Garlic noodles, miso soup, house soup, house salad(love the ginger dressing!), California with tobiko, shrimp shumai, shrimp hibachi, chicken hibachi, iced green tea, filet hibachi.
