One of favorite sushi place. Addicted to their spicy tuna salad which is mix salad green with thin slices of fresh raw tuna topped with tobiko served with their spicy mayo dressing(not what you think of when spicy mayo which is more a thicker texture), dressing is light and more like a really good vinaigrette. Their special rolls are amazing. The Dinosaur and Dominic is my fav. The Dinosaur is the best of both world when you can have shrimp tempura and asparagus and topped with eel yum!

I love Haruki in Cranston. Actually I just realized I have been eating at this restaurant since the late 70’s when they were located on Park Avenue! Forty something years ago sushi wasn’t as popular as it is now, but I have always love it. I have been to many sushi restaurants in RI, but to me Haruki is the best. The sushi is always fresh. They offer a wide variety of choices and the service is always good. Their soups and noodle dishes are also delicious.

It’s not the best sushi I’ve ever had, but it’s still pretty darn good especially when you consider the reasonable/low prices. A few rolls were a little sloppy-looking, but nonetheless — tasted very good. Cool to see several sushi entrée combinations on the menu — great for the person who wants to order a bunch of rolls but doesn’t really know/care which ones.

This is a decent sushi restaurant. They have a wide variety of sushi and sashimi selections that they offer. Each time that we have gone for dinner, we were seated in a reasonably timely manner and greeted with smiles. We like to order the special sushi rolls. If you order six or more, they put them on a huge sushi boat. The kids always get a kick out of that as well as all the people in your party. Though the seafood appears to be fresh and the presentation is excellent. Each time I eat there, I leave wanting. I’m not sure why. We love sushi and frequent another restaurant in Warwick which always satisfies, that must be why. That said, many really enjoy this restaurant and I have not had a bad experience. Though I’m a raw sushi kind of guy, I do highly recommend the scallop roll. It’s cooked, but really is fantastic :)

We eat there often. Always delicious and tasty. I’ve never had a bad meal. Service can be a little inattentive and slow. However I think they have some of the better Japanese food in Rhode Island, along with Ran Zan.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place sooner considering the fact I’ve been going since high school, a long long time ago. The primary reasons for my continue patronage and preference to have sushi here over most places in the state: 1– Their sticky sushi rice game is on point. Rice is an important part of the sushi experience unless you are strictly sashimi. There rice is never over cooked and has the perfect consistency, with a bit of give when you bite into it. 2– Spicy Scallop roll. Nowhere else cooks their spicy scallop and their spicy sauce is out of this world. 3– Ginger salad dressing. This is by far the best one I have had to date. They even bottle it and sell it. 4– While we are on the topic of sauces and dressings, they have a salad, with a simple name«Spicy Tuna Salad» and the dressing is a combination of spicy sauce and the ginger dressing(at least that’s my guess), fresh tuna sliced atop a bed of mixed greens and topped off with to book and crunchies. 5– Daisuke roll. This is my second favorite roll Inside: Spicy tuna, cucumber, asparagus and tempura bits. Outside: Tuna, tobiko, mayo sauce, sweet sauce, chili sauce and cilantro. This combination is magical, trust me.

My go-to Sushi spot since the early 2000’s. The sushi is great & the staff is super friendly. The Sushi is always fresh but the portions/sizes have gone down a little. Theres a nice, private back room that you can reserve for parties of over 5(I think). You must remove your shoes prior to entering the room so make sure your feet don’t stink. Parking can get tight on busy nights, so accomodate accordingly.

I have been here a few times and I have always had great service and fresh sushi. The only thing I have noticed was that recently there was an increase in price. For a tekka maki(tuna roll) it’s 6 dollars which I think is a bit more expensive than most places I go to. But aside from that the service was great and the quality was also. When I came here for my birthday the waitress was really sweet and friendly and recommended different sakes and gave me ice cream tempura for dessert. It makes your meal even more enjoyable when your waiter or waitress is so pleasant.

Still incredible… had dinner last week with a friend on a Friday night. We started with spicy seafood salad… an assortment of Sushi fish served on a mixed greens salad with a lightly spicy dressing that was mind blowingly delicious. We also had another salad app that was really good. We than had tuna, salmon, and another Nigiri, and a few spicy rolls that were really fresh and yummy. Then we shared a small order of BBQ grilled pork ribs, which were outrageous, really tender, lean, and flavorful. Our waitress was extremely gracious. Prices are really good, place is clean and cute. Can’t wait to return!

I’ve been here a few times. I’d usually rate it 4 stars but I feel the quality has deteriorated. We ordered hamachi kama which arrived burned. The oshitashi spinach was missing dried fish shavings and the rolls we ordered were missing ikura salmon eggs on top as was pictured so we sent it back. Service is just ok, nothing special.

I gave it 2 stars because the service was good, but the sushi was awful, I can’t even explain the odd taste it had, not that the fish was not fresh but the rolls themselves just had odd flavors only thing good was the sashimi

It’s about time that I wrote a review about Haruki seeing how I am there every Monday for $ 5 martini night. Yup, you read it right, 5 bucks for a deliciously made martini. Quite a variety, but I always get the Lychee martini. We always start with the black tea edamame. I love the habanero eggs on the spicy tuna roll, the superman and dinosaur rolls are good also. Service is always great, place is clean. Great place for fresh sushi.

Like Haruki East, this place rates just as good. I do feel like east is a notch better. Haruki Cranston actually has a parking lot for convenient parking. So parking isn’t fussy. BUT back to the food. The sushi is fresh, well made, I’ve never been disappointed, great tempura and teriyaki. I always come here after work, it’s where I go for a real Japanese dining experience. The service is attentive and pleasant. You can’t go wrong.

FOODPOISONING My sister and I went to haruki for lunch today. We shared the salmon bento box, a tuna roll and a yellowtail roll. Fast forward eight hours, we are both hugging the toilet. I didn’t want to see my sushi again but alas, I am. I’ve never had«bad» sushi so this makes for a first. My past experiences with haruki were take out. I was neither overly impressed nor underwhelmed. This will certainly drive me away but can obviously be a fluke. Good luck.

Although both the décor and clientele simply can not compare to their«East» location, the flagship Haruki was my introduction to Japanese cuisine — that is, Japanese cuisine from Cranston. The interior is quite cozy and their handmade ceramics are really cool. My old man alleges they were crafted by his friend«Billy». Gravitating to what most diners may consider«starters», I am always satisfied by their miso soup and edamame. A selection of vege-based rolls usually rounds out my meal which is consistent, fresh-tasting and inexpensive(all told less than $ 20 for all the above items). An oversized mug(again, «made by Billy») filled nearly to the brim with earthy green tea, serves as a perfect digestive aid and conclusion to both the Haruki experience and this review.

It is decent sushi, I can’t hate on it really, but Ichiban in Cranston is so much better. We only came to Haruki because we went by Ichiban and they were closed for vacation. It is hard when you are comparing everything you ate to somewhere else…

good food. nice looking and functional sports bar. prompt service. I’ll have to re-post an edit describing what I ate, but it was good. I especially like the dark atmosphere here and low-to-the-ground seats, and I am hoping other Harukis closer to Providence have the same look and feel. To be continued!

Helloooo my fellow sushi lovers! My gf and I love trying new sushi places and she actually introduced me to Haruki on our first anniversary. :) two sushi lovin’ love birds. Corny, but true. Three years later and we still love it. We’ve been a couple times since and this place is by far one of our favorites and will be sorely missed when we move to Milwaukee. Clean and the staff are always friendly! We always have such a great time. Sushi is always fresh. The rolls are also a decent size! I think this place was slightly higher in price, but that doesn’t hinder anything. It’s only because now that we are depleting our fisheries with the mass amount of sushi restaurants, prices of fish are constantly increasing. So sad… but it doesn’t stop me from shoving my face with a boat load of sushi!!! No really… we got a boat… On this particular trip we ordered the Dragon roll, Dinosaur roll, the Rock n Roll, eel and avocado… and then one with cilantro on top. I can’t remember what it was called. I am not a fan of cilantro by any means, but this roll was good. They were all damn good. I highly recommend a visit or five… ten. Whatever, but if you love sushi as much as we do, ya gotta go.

My most favorite thing about Haruki is their curry. It is simply delicious and very easy on the wallet. What I don’t like about it is that the carrot and broccoli they give you on the side are undercooked. It’s not a big offense though, so I don’t mind it. The sampler platter is good, their crab rangoons are especially good. The oyster katsu I had was a little oily but delivers all that is promised. The first time I came, I had a B-12 bento box but was unimpressed because the teriyaki chicken was dry and flavorless and the salad was simply okay. The sashimi was the best part of the dish. On one visit, I was excited to try all the things on their menu that isn’t usually available elsewhere such as the futomaki, tamago nigiri, and inarizushi. Unfortunately I was in for disappointment. The contents of the futomaki tasted old, the egg was extremely spongy and dripping with sauce, and I was overall unimpressed with what I ordered. Even the unagi nigiri left me disappointed. I am willing to give the sushi another try though, I am looking forward to trying some of the house special rolls!
