Great food and atmosphere. Service could have been better. The steamed lobster, calamari, zuppa, fried clams and steamers were delicious. We live out of state but will always happily return to this place for good food when in town.

To me, food is tasty and reasonably priced. Great view and place to hang and have a nice dinner/lunch with a water view. I personally like it here and prefer their clam chowder and clam cakes over Iggy’s.

We went here for Mother’s Day and I have to say that my family and I were less than impressed. I’ll give a pass on the 30 minute wait for our table with a reservation since it was busy and it has to be expected on Mother’s Day. My wife ordered the broiled seafood platter. It came with fish, scallops, shrimp and a quahog. On it’s own it doesn’t sound too bad. The part that made it almost inedible was the fact that it was all drowning in butter and had about half an inch of disgusting cracker meal covering everything. She finished the fish only after she scraped all of the topping off of it. She only finished about half of her platter because everything tasted the same. If they had respected the seafood and put time into it, it would have been a much better dinner. I had the Chicken Hawaiian which was a new name they gave Sweet and Sour Chicken. I’m not a seafood fan and it was one of the only meals you could order that didn’t break the bank. It was precooked chicken breasts in a bottled sweet and sour sauce over overcooked rice. For close to $ 16 it was absolutely ridiculous. We will not be returning to Top of the Bay. I hope that they take a long look at their menu and figure out how to bring the natural flavors from their ingredients instead of topping every component with the same disgusting topping. It made for a memorable Mother’s Day as we couldn’t stop laughing about how bad it was and the fact that we dropped $ 100 including tip on a sub-par meal. Please avoid this unless you love eating seafood that has a 1980’s inspiration.

Fabulous meal. We’ll be back for sure. Mediterranean salad was fantastic and chowder/clam cakes were some of the best we’ve had. The view was great too!

Went to Top of the Bay for dinner Sunday 02÷21÷16. Once we arrived we were seated immediately’ Our server was attentive and friendly. Rolls were served still warm. We had four different meals and all were excellent. We will go back again.

This is such a great place, that’s needs to be recognized! Beautiful views of the bay. The atmosphere is perfect. The staff is very friendly. I always enjoy my food, whether it’s stuffed mushrooms, calamari, and chicken masala. It’s not in the busy part of Warwick but it’s worth the drive. If you can drive to Iggy’s go across the street! You won’t be disappointed. Warm rolls with basil butter, olive oil or hummus to dip. What more do you need.

At best, it was bland and over priced. Not for me. I’m saddened by the gulf between what I expected from reviews and the actual dinner provided. The salad had pieces that were spoiled, dark green and slimy. I didn’t notice till I was gagging. She offered to bring me a different salad but I wasn’t brave enough. I got the broiled seafood dinner as it was recommended to me. It was bland and not worth the $ 27.95. The crumb topping had too much butter with no seasoning, very scant. The scrod which was small and overcooked, previously frozen, would have been better with no crumb topping. The scallops were decent, portion was tiny and they were paired with canned lump crab and more of the too gritty crumb topping. There were two stuffed shrimp, good sized, bland stuffing again, they were tough and over cooked. The stuffy I just couldn’t start on because it showed the same dark brown gritty crumb topping. The white chowder had under cooked hard potatoes. Pasta was barely warm and the chicken parm was straight outta the fryer. Sauce also was barely warm. The mashed potatoes were gluey, they had been overworked. «Cruddy brownie» for dessert was tasteless. The only good part was the warm rolls. They were excellent. I feel sad that this place had a disappointing showing. Until this place sorts the food out it isn’t worth the view which is merely ok.

My fiancé and I were originally planning on going to Iggy’s for dinner but when I saw Top of the Bay we changed our minds. I have heard good things about this place from friends and family so why not give it a shot. We went in and were immediately seated near the window. Unfortunately it was dark so we couldn’t see the water but we could see lights from towns across the bay, it was so pretty. Our server was attentive and friendly. We got rolls with a 3 sectioned tray of oil, sweet basil butter and hummus. The rolls were still warm and fluffy. We started with cups of white clam chowder, it was so good. Creamy and the perfect ration of potatoes and clams. My fiancé ordered fish and chips. I had the baked scrod, it came with mashed potatoes and carrots. The portions were huge! The scrod was delicious the breadcrumb topping was perfect and not over done. The garlic mashed potatoes were so tasty. The best ones I’ve had at a restaurant. The fish and chips were perfect it was a huge piece of fish and it wasn’t all batter like most places. We definitely didn’t finish so some of it came home. With 2 sodas and the food the bill was $ 35.00. We didn’t have room for dessert but walking by the display case on our way out I wish we took a piece to go. We will definitely be back.

This is a tough review to write. Last year my girlfriend and I went here for one of our first dates. For our year anniversary this year we decided to go again since it was so good the first time. The food is amazing and top notch for such a standard family style type restaurant. Tonight though(9⁄5) was a horrible experience here. My girlfriend and I are checking in around 5:15PM(early birds!) and the hostess says there’s a 25 minute wait for a table with a view or we could get another table and eat now. There was more than one hostess, so, while we were deciding and speaking to our hostess about the seats, another hostess proceeded to check in another couple, giving them the waiting pager leaving us now behind another couple to wait. All in all, this wouldn’t have been a problem and could’ve cared less. We went upstairs to relax and get a drink on the deck while we waited. The waitress up there, after our 2nd round of drinks mentions something that it’s taking a long time and it shouldn’t take this long to seat us. She offered to ask what’s going on for us while she went down stairs to goto the bathroom. In that time, our pager went off. We went downstairs and the waitress from upstairs sees us and says, «oh good, they’ve seated you!» Original wait time: 20 – 25 minutes. Actual wait time: about 42 minutes. We get seated at our table next to the window, by the door, with the AC dripping water into a bucket in the dining room. A busser comes over a bit after we were seated and pours us some water(while pouring it over the floor as well, missing the glass). And we wait. No waiter. We look around, see some people who work there are just standing around. Others are talking to other customers. No waiter. We see some guy who is running back and forth between outside and inside. Just as I’m about to get up to ask about service the waiter who’s running back and forth comes over and says he’s very sorry for the wait and hopes that we weren’t waiting long. I actually said yea, we were waiting for a while and he was very nice and said he’ll take care of us from now on, apologizing for the wait. Basically, there was a long wait after everything we ordered and they made us order one thing at a time or something. Order drinks, Wait, receive drink order and bread. Wait Order Appetizer, Wait, received appetizer from another person. Wait. We had to ask a busser for more bread because our waiter wasn’t around. The waiter finally comes over again and asks what we’d like for dinner. Order dinner. Wait. receive soup/salads from another person. Wait. After our appetizer and soup/salad I actually got up and went to the hostess table to complain about the wait. A table of two and we’ve been there for over 2 hours and still haven’t received our dinner. The food is great, everyone is so nice when we have service but where is it? When the service was around, it was great but most of the workers were standing around this night or something. The hostess said she’d look into it and take care of it for us. I sat back down at our table and low and behold, our food comes out to us instantly. The waiter came over to us finally checking in on the food delivered and I had to tell him, «hey man, I’m sorry, but I had to complain to the hostess. We’ve been here forever.» The waiter said he was sorry and agreed it was a long time and that he’s running around. I asked him to speak to the manager about our experience and he came back to us stating he talked to him but he’s not willing to do anything for us. I asked to speak to the manager at this point. The manager came over to discuss everything with us. He had the time we sat down at our table, but not how long we waited for that table and or how long we waited after ordering each thing. He said there wasn’t a problem and this was an average wait time. I explained how we got there at 5:15PM and that it is over 2 hours later and we just got our meals now. He went into saying that this amount of time is average and that every table is served like that. He said they don’t ask what you’d like for an entrée until after the appetizer. I told him I guess I’m not used to this type of restaurant and the manager nodded and says yea, I guess not. I asked for him to comp the appetizer which he did, but it required me talking to him to do so. Pretty much won’t be back for a long time now I guess. Shame because we live so close and thought so highly of it from our first experience. Even a couple at another table near us the whole time agreed that the service and time there was awful this night. In short: Service when we had it was great but for the most part, too busy for each table. Food is really great! Manager wasn’t really being realistic or on Earth about hospitality and dining at a restaurant. I’m really upset I had to write this review considering our first experience and the great reviews already about this place. :(

Loved it. Nothing better than eating seafood overlooking the bay, with the smell of saltwater in the air. Great service. My wife loved the clam chowder and the lobster; I thought the fish tacos were great. Will definitely come back.

A buddy of mine and I ate at this restaurant our first night in town after driving across the United States from San Diego. A Parton leaving said the food was amazing and recommended the fried clam strips and clam chowder. We were greeted by a very friendly host and seated promptly. Our server showed up shortly after and explained the menu and specials for the evening. She was super polite and had a very good knowledge of the menu. We ordered a clam appetizer. It arrived quick and was hot and fresh. About 10 total clams in a light buttery broth with a piece of fresh garlic toast, a perfect appetizer and very tasty. With an entrée you get a choice of soup or salad I had the white clam chowder. The clams and potatoes were cooked perfectly and the«broth» was the perfect consistency. Some of the best clam chowder I have ever had! I had a pasta with clams, muscles and crabmeat. It was amazing. The food was fresh, hot and prepared to perfection. The dinner portion was very generous. My buddy had a broiled seafood platter. All of the items were fresh hot and prepared well. Dessert was not an option as neither one of us could finish our entrées. I gave a five star rating because the food was hot, fresh and amazing. The server and other staff were very friendly and helpful in helping us make our dinner decisions. They also had a great selection of beer and cocktails. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I have been here twice and I really enjoy the food here. I find that the portions are a nice size and leave you full which is good. Their bread is too die for very soft with the sweet basil butter. I never had it before and I loved it. Me and my husband ordered lobsters but I was not a fan of the stuffing on mine. The second time I went I had a Mediterranean salad which I had customized and that by far has been my favorite dish there. I would recommend going here. The view is nice and the food is great, never really had a problem with any staff member. It’s a good restaurant for families, friends and dates or even going alone.

Good clam cakes and lobster roll. Loved the upstairs patio, service was great. Drinks were great also… Can’t understand the wait in line for Iggy’s food when you can dine in next door and the food is so much better. Always a go to place in the summer

We went back to Top of the Bay Saturday night — it’s been well over a year since we were there last. Everything was SO good! First, our waitress, Lynzie, totally rocked. When she would stop by the table from time to time to see how everything was, I felt like she was my cousin or sister — so warm and friendly. SO efficient. Our food was perfect — no complaints other than our baked potatoes were the teensiest bit over cooked. But, hey, some places only offer French fries and it was good to have the choice. My baked stuff shrimp were fresh and perfect,(and so filling, half of my dinner came home with me). My husband’s fish tacos great as well. My drink was FINE and even came with a little extra in a boot, on the side.(I really love it when they do that — makes me feel like I’m getting something extra!!) Then chowder I ordered before my meal, AND the clams zuppa my husband had, were beyond good. This is a not fancy, Oakland Beach neighborhood mostly seafood restaurant. They don’t claim to be anything they aren’t. Just really good homestyle cooking. They do what they and they do it GREAT! Moving them up to five stars!

Beautiful views and excellent service. We brought in a rather large group giving only 10 minute’s notice ce and they handled it very well. They allowed me to have a combination of fried scallops and whole belly clams. It came with coke slaw and fries. The clams were slightly overdone, scallops better. Neither was greasy. Scallops very tasty and mostly sweet(bay) but clams a bit bland. I didn’t like the tartar sauce. The fries were OK but not fresh cut. The cole slaw was excellent.

I went to the Top of the Bay last night for a business dinner. The views are nice over looking the water. Regarding the food, it wasn’t good, I order the scrod, and had no taste. This is a simple dinner to make, and, I don’t know if the food wasn’t fresh, or, they just don’t know how to prepare and cook. The service was ok, nothing special. No plans to rush back.

Firstly, I want to thank Kaya for superior service. He is five star all the way. What else can one ask for on a gorgeous summer day? A view of the water, a sweet watermelon martini and a delicious plate of chicken Marsala. I left there positively stuffed and filled with a happy memory as my friends and I celebrated Labor Day!

A wonderful little restaurant on Oakland Beach. Located directly across the street from Iggy’s it offers a much more up scaled menu but still casual. The décor is a bit dated, but I like that feel in beach side restaurants. Definitely gives it the New England feel. On this particular night I ordered the shrimp scampi linguini. Dinner started with a small side salad which was fresh and just the right size. They also place hot rolls on the table with seasoned olive oil, hummus and a flavored butter. Mmmmmmm. The shrimp scampi arrived piping hot. The portion was quite generous with five of the largest shrimp I’ve ever seen. They were tender and fresh. The portion was so large I took half home for another meal. It’s a little pricy here. My meal was $ 18. A glass of house Chardonnay $ 6. With tax $ tip mt dinner was $ 30. We happened to go on a Tuesday night. During the summer there is a classic car show in the beach parking lot, so after dinner we had a nice walk along the water looking at great old cars. Definitely a great evening.
