While a donut & coffee shop was long overdue here, their choice of location is not good. Granted it is very nice & fresh inside the lack of a drive thru clearly shows how Lower Makefield keeps their area so far behind the times. I am surprised Dunkin Donuts corporate allowed a location without a drive thru. Getting in and out of washington crossing road is hazzardous at best. While the locals may like it, us in the modern world simply drive past it due to the aforementioned issues.

On an icy Christmas evening, 1776, George Washington led a column of Continentals across the Delaware shortly after hitting this DD up. The result was the birth of a nation. Washington himself was a fan of DD dark roast and, according to historical accounts of the time, fatefully requested that each man be equipped with fresh flints and a Dunkin Turbo shot prior to the Battle of Trenton. By crossing the river by boat, the caffeine-jolted Americans surprised a division of encamped Hessians, who surely would’ve expected an enemy crossing via the nearby Washington Crossing Bridge or from the south on I-95. This is one of the nicer DDs I’ve been to. Very upscale feel and clean, modern design. Service is brisk and friendly. This is a welcome addition to the Crossing and a necessary pit stop whenever I’m in town.

It’s about time. Love having it here. Immaculately clean and set up very nicely to sit awhile. The workers are friendly. Just love having it near by.

Newest design for DD. Not surprised as it had to do something extraordinary to get into Upper Makefield. This shop has an inside lobby with doors on 2 sides to allow for circulation of customers. Too, it has a pleasant sitting area to one side complete with a lounge by the large front window. The coffee is standard for a DD. Service is friendly and efficient. Nice to have a morning hangout in the Crossing.
