From 1986 to 1989, I was stationed at the Marine Barracks from which Barracks Row draws it’s name. I can’t tell you how pleased I am that this place has made such an incredible transformation! I love the ambiance of the neighborhood that has made this place a destination for this(now middle aged) former Marine who live in the soulless Virginia suburbs.

Nice to see another new addition to the Barracks Row area. This time, its a cupcake place. Woo hoo! Since strawberry is my all-time favorite flavor — of anything, I tried the Strawberry Fields. The icing was REALLY good. Creamy and cool. Not too much, but just enough. Nice and fresh with a sliced strawberry on top. Honestly, I think I liked the icing better than the actual cake. The cake wasn’t bad though, but for $ 3 I expected MORE. That’s not to say that I wouldn’t check to another flavor if I was in the area(I hear the cookies and cream is good). The original DC location is in Dupont Circle and appears to be doing well. Might check them out, next.
