Slowest line ever, as is typical for Nats park, but these fries are SOLID. I regularly go for the garlic fries, topped with Parmesan and a little parsley. Sometimes the batches are a little crispier, which I prefer. I have yet to be blown away by the sauces, despite my high hopes for Old Bay. I recommend just sticking with the one that is included rather than paying for extra.

I had the sweet fries and parm peppercorn sauce and they were delicious! This is a really unique snack and prices are reasonable compared to other stadium food. The people behind the counter were very nice and helpful. My only complaint with my visit was that there was a super long line, which I waited in for about 25 minutes. Other nearby lines were moving signifigantly faster so I’m not sure why this one was so painfully long. If you can catch this place with a short line it’s a great spot!

DC seems to have a habit of importing some unfortunate tendencies from New York. H Street and Shaw have nearly as many hipsters per capita as Brooklyn, our cost of housing rivals that of Manhattan, and don’t get me started on our brunch culture. At least at Nats Park we borrowed well, importing the best slice of Citi Field in the form of the Shake Shack/Blue Smoke/Box Frites enclave up on the Scoreboard Walk. The point I made to my ballgame companions the other night is that often I’m willing to sacrifice quality of my protein in order to score big on my carbs. Yeah, the hot dogs here are fine, nothing special, and the potato buns seem to be quite stale more often than not. But let’s face it, with«frites» in the name of the stand, the hot dogs are the side dishes and the fries are the entrée. They’re definitely the best fries in the park, crisp and substantial, and the array of dipping sauces are all deliciously savory. Prefer sweet potato fries, or want yours awash with parmesan or cheese and bacon? Done. I almost never sit anywhere near this place, but it’s a rare ballgame that I don’t make the walk over for my dinner. Once you do, you’ll never be able to go back to regular concessions.

I love french fries. A place named for them? Had to give it a shot. The line wasn’t as insane as most of the places inside the ballpark, perfect storm leading me there. I got some fries along with the bacon sauce. I say ‘got’ but in actuality the person just kinda flinged a tiny cup into the box so it was basically everywhere. Kinda bothersome since they charge if you want more than the thimble they are offering. Also getting a hot dog and drink too means you’re dropping like a $ 20… I went with just fries. Because of the money and the haphazard way I was presented with the sauce I figured these would be bad fries. They were really good. If that’s what you’re name your place after, I guess it makes sense you really kill the french fry game. Lucky for them, they do. If you like fries, and you’re at the ballpark, I’d recommend these.

I went here during the May 22nd game. The line wasn’t too bad, and my food came quickly. The BLT hot dog I ordered wasn’t bad, but the regular box frites I received were COLD, not even lukewarm but cold. The taste was okay, but for a place known for fries I expect them to be served piping hot.

The frites are tasty if a bit spendy. The smokey bacon sauce is as good as you’d want it to be. Do NOT let the servers rip you off. None of them(tonight anyway) were capable of reading their own menu, which clearly says that an order of frites comes with one sauce, and thus buying an «extra» means you get two.(Seriously, it was like explaining cold fusion.). Whatever.

Expensive, but delicious. Great little options to give variation to typical ball park food choices. A helpful note: it’s located on the second floor, so you’ll have to venture to find it if you’re not on that level. Highly recommend the fries, but the hot dogs are not as great.

I usually stop here every time I come to a Nats game and get the garlic frites. The portion is very large and is enough for 2 – 3 people. I thought they tasted great with ketchup, so I would definitely purchase them again. They are a kinda pricy, but I usually eat a meal before coming to the games anyways so this is fine for just a snack. The lines are also shorter than some of the other places, so it’s easy to grab a snack and drink and get back to the game.

The fries here are supposedly specialty fries. I usually just get the garlic fries. The size of the fries is usually enough to feed 2 – 3 people. They are very salty and garlicky, so after a couple of fries you will get sick of them. The price of fries were $ 8.50. Definitely overpriced, but that is what you get for purchasing food from a sports event. In addition, if you want sauce(ranch, buffalo, etc.), it costs an extra 50 – 55 cents. Overall, this is a cool place to try out and get some finger food but not a place to be obsessed over.

Yum! Had the Garlic Frites which are smothered in Parmesan, parsely — and lots of garlic. The fries are cooked to crisp and there’s no need for sauce with these badboys — they are delicious on their own. The cheddar bacon is good, but the Garlic ones are great — I would go for those again. They do cost 8.50 a box — but its a large portion that could be share with 2 – 3 people. Recommend!

Massive let down. OK the lines we get it. It’s a ball park. OK then build another one so not everyone in tg re stadium cones here. Think outside the box for once. Service. The team behind the line could not be more pleasant and friendly. Jon our cashier was all smiles during the 8th inning and still had energy after his long day in the heat. Was the only plus. The fries we ordered was the garlic parm. The fries were under cooked soggy and had way to much salt, no garlic taste and way way way to much parm on them. We had dry mouth. We opted for the free ketchup rather then pay $ 2 for a small condiment holder of fancy nothing. Really You charge for sauces. Also ordered the frites dog. NEVERORDER it. Very small basic nothing. For $ 6 you expect more. When at nationals park stay awaya. Best bet is the ave vendors downstairs for hot dogs and fries.

Ended up getting the regular fries with the buffalo sauce. Fries were great thick cut almost in the fashion of boardwalk except without the skins. Hot. I thought it was a little bit over rated because the sauce was basically ranch and hot sauce which one can make at home. Might opt for the parm fries next time but if you go that route you don’t get a dipping sauce.

A day at a Nats game is not complete without dropping by Box Frites for some Garlic Frites. The husband and I end up demolishing a large size at an embarrassing rate. Either stop for some ketchup or spring for a Rosemary Ranch dip which I think is totally worth the extra money. Definitely try some of the other flavors, and let me know!

I thought the fries here were really good, but are a little expensive even for Stadium prices. I justified the $ 10 for large garlic fries and one sauce because I decided I was going to only have fries for dinner(don’t judge me). The plus side is not only were the fries good but they were also a pretty generous serving so I wasn’t even able to finish the large. Seems like you could probably split the large between 2 – 3 people if you just wanted fries as a side. The downside was they were expensive and the sauce that I paid $ 1.75 extra for was in a pretty small container. While I don’t enjoy paying almost $ 2 for an extra sauce it wouldn’t bother me if it at least provided me with enough sauce for all my fries. This one did not even come close.

Yawn. Tried the sweet potato fries. Slightly soggy, nothing special. And the bacon aioli actually made my stomach roll over. Stayed with me til morning. Not a fan, especially when I can get good fries with my In-&-Out clone burger two doors down at Shake Shack.

7⁄21 Nats vs Braves 1:00pm 1 Large Sweet Potato Garlic Frites $ 9.50 Surprisingly, they were pretty crispy even though sweet potatoes are generally harder to crisp than regular potatoes. If the large size was $ 2 cheaper, I would have given them 4-stars. I will try again next time, but only because I want to try the dipping sauces.

The fries were pretty good. Ordered the large Garlic Parmesan fries with two dipping sauces — the buffalo blue cheese and curry dip. Wow, I loved these dipping sauces. The buffalo blue cheese is spicy but so good. Danny Myers is taking over Nats park with Shake Shack, Box Frites and Blue smoke. Also ate the BLT dog. A little pricey for $ 6.75 but it was really good. You can’t go wrong with bacon!

Box Frites was OK. I ordered the small regular fries, and while not inedible, definitely not worth $ 7. Served hot, yet could have been crispier and more flavorful. The ketchup was tasty — I had the chipotle ketchup, which was not as thick as regular ketchup. The fries from the regular vendors looked better than these.

Not bad at all, a welcome addition to the Miller Lite scoreboard walk. I opeted for the Garlic Parmesan fries(might as well splurge for the extra $ 1.50 if you are already buying $ 8.00 fries). They do come with one dipping option, and we went for the Chipotle ketchup. All in all every strong fries, nice crispness, no real grease and a heaping amount of parmesan. These fries and a beer would certainly constitute a meal, and for the ball game the $ 16 cumulative price tag really isnt all that steep. Check it out!

if you follow my reviews or have ever had a conversation with me about food, you’ll likely know that i will never stop loving french fries. so imagine my excitement level skyrocket as i was going to be at nationals park for the opening of box frites: a concession stand devoted entirely to my beloved taters. box frites boasts that they have«belgian-style frites and dipping sauces» and i gotta say, i was skeptical. i had a horrible experience with garlic fries at nats park last season(as in. the taste of garlic just wouldn’t leave my mouth no matter how many times i brushed and rinsed), and i vowed to never look back. but danny meyer insisted on upping the ante and intrigued me with his garlic-parmesan frites. then i heard about the smoked bacon aioli. done and done. first of all, the special garlic-parmesan frites are $ 9.75 sans dipping sauce. AREYOUINSANE? though i don’t think they were worth $ 9.75(just regular, thick-cut spuds. definitely not belgian-style), i respect that it’s the novelty of being in a park, and the novelty of quality roasted garlic and parmesan available in said park. now, it’s important that you listen. if you want regular«frites» here, that’s fine. i might even try regular next time just to check ‘em out. but the $ 2 they charge for the smoked bacon aioli is absolutely worth it. it’s decadent, chilled, and sinfully delicious. i also thought it paired well with the garlic and parmesan. other dipping sauces(also $ 2 each): chipotle ketchup, ballpark mayo, bleu cheese, and rosemary ranch. these fries could be a meal in itself. they were incredibly filling. and for $ 10+, they should be. none of that shoestring shit, we’re up in the big leagues now.* — *pun intended.
