The dogs here are definitely of good quality. The meat for the half-smoke is awesome. I am a traditional hot dog guy, so I can speak to the chili, cheese and onions at this place. but for those who are more adventurous, they have you covered.

I don’t usually like hot dogs, but I become a fan every time I come to this place. Although you can’t do much with a hot dog, these guys somehow find a way to make them taste really good. The only issue I have is that they’re a little on the pricey side(once again, these ARE hot dogs we’re talking about). If it wasn’t for the price, I’d have given them 5 stars.

Best hot dogs in the dmv. If you’re in the area and are feeling like you want a hot dog, stop by! The Tuscan Sonoran and the bulgogi ones are my favorite. If I stayed closer I’d be here every week.

Had a California Left-Winger to-go. Was okay. A little dry and would’ve liked for the falafel and tzatziki sauce to have a little more flavor. Probably wouldn’t get that one again, but may come back to try another with an actual dog in it.

I am not sure why this place has any low ratings… their hot dogs are great! My husband loves hotdogs and stadium type food so we decided to stop in on Sunday afternoon. To be honest, unless I was seeking this place out, I would have never gone. It looks like a little hole in the wall from the outside and I would have passed it right by if I didn’t know what it was. There is minimal seating but it wasn’t crowded so it wasn’t an issue. We decided to get 4 different dogs to try out a variety and every single one was delicious. And cheap! If you don’t like their signature hot dogs, you can put as many of whatever toppings on the hot dog that you want free of charge. We will definitely be going back… I like the look of the fried pickles and the fried oreos but was too stuffed to try them. Next time…

Hot dogs have always been my secret food crush. My friends continually try and tell me what they’re made of. yadda yadda, with no success of convincing me that they are anything but some of the most delicious things introduced to man kind. When I discovered DC-3 I was so excited to give their hot dogs a try. To my excitement they were everything hoped for. I had the Jersey bacon wrapped one and it was perfect! Then for dessert they have his delicious ice cream with all these toppings you can pick and choose. The décor is really cool and fun. Definitely give this place a try if you love a good dog between drinking and venue hopping.

Stopped in last month after passing DC-3 since its opening years ago, finally. For a while I had been scoping the menu to figure out what exactly I wanted to try for my first visit and decided on the West Virginia sauce and slaw dog. In my opinion, the hot dog was good though there was a lot of slaw, it brought a good balance to all the flavors. The chili had a good smokiness, the slaw a crisp sweetness, and the dog a slight saltiness. The bun was good and crispy from it being toasted. I got the combo in which I was able to choose fries instead of chips and though the definition of shoestring, were pretty good. As of right now I’m giving them 4 stars because I would like to explore the menu a little more to see what else is good.

Stopped into DC-3 today and had the«DC Hot Half Smoke». The dog was pretty good, toasted bun, boar’s head half smoke, with mustard, raw onions and relish on it. The half smoke had a nice crisp snap to it after biting into it. It wasn’t earth shattering good, but it served it’s purpose. A lot of the other hot dogs on the menu seem as though they can be pretty messy, so make sure you are wearing a napkin/bib if you are eating here during work hours. Quick service, place on the interior was kind of dinge-y, and I personally have a hard time thoroughly enjoying food in establishments that don’t seemingly pride themselves on cleanliness. So, I deducted a star for that because the dog itself deserves 4 stars.

The selection is amazing! We had the Californian(including fresh falafel and tzatziki sauce) and kimchi bulgogi. Pair it with a Natty Bo and enjoy your life.

A great hot dog place in central DC, small space but has seating in the front and stools in the back. They serve hot dogs with lots of toppings and options. Its theme is airplanes with a huge propeller on one of the walls and a map of the USA on the other. The service was quick and the the space was clean. I would recommend this if you are in this part of town and want a quick bite.

I’ve been meaning to try DC-3 for a while, and as a huge fan of the Matchbox chain I had high hopes for DC-3. I tried the Chicago 7, which was tasty but incredibly messy to eat. I was a little turned off by the color of the relish– a real neon green. I had a bite of the Tuscan Sonoran which had a lot of flavors and textures, but was satisfying. Seating is basic: picnic style tables. Most people came in and out quickly– so there wasn’t any wait for a table on a Saturday afternoon. Service was okay. I liked the array of sauces to choose from. While it was nice to have a variety of choices, I think I’m going to stick to hot dogs from Costco’s food court.

Great combo of tastes! The bulgogi and kimchi hot dog was yummy. A great afternoon snack bite — not too heavy.

I was craving a hotdog and stopped at seven eleven for it. A minute later, I come across this hotdog restaurant. My partner suggested I get rid of my other hotdog and try this restaurant. I ordered a slaw dog with cheese fries and a drink. It’s around $ 8. Not too bad. Anyway, the bread was toasted perfectly and the hotdog was amazing. The slaw was ok, but it wasn’t bad! The place is actually really cool. Customer service is on point. The tables are a bit dirty, but other than that, my experience was great!

Dear DC-3, I don’t know how you stay in business, since there’s almost never anyone else there when I visit. I don’t know how you turn a profit, charging me less than $ 10 for a hot dog covered in a delicious heap of toppings, a basket of fries that could feed two people, and a fountain drink in a city where $ 15 barely covers lunch most other places. I don’t know how your wide selection of specialty dogs and tidy tables have stayed under the radar in a town that worships a dingy hole in the wall serving mediocre chili dogs and almost nothing else(we all know who I’m talking about). Whatever you’re doing, it’s obviously working. I hope you stick around for a long time so I can keep getting my hot dog fix long after baseball season is over. Your pal, Joe

Just had to write to let all good folks what an absolutely delightful time my lovely bride & I had at DC-3. We make an annual pilgrimage into DC from New Jersey to celebrate our anniversary(this year it was 18!), & last year, we added DC-3 to our trip due to the availability of veggie dogs on the menu. We stopped there right as we hit the city after our long drive & were not disappointed. We so appreciate DC-3 offering veggie dogs as I am vegetarian & my girl is vegan so we had to stop in. It was yummy & we decided to make it our first destination every year! This year, tho’, really solidified our love of DC-3& we had to share this. It was so much more delicious & special. David greeted us with such enthusiasm & genuine caring, we felt incredibly welcome & warm after our arduous journey from the netherlands of Jersey. We were even more thrilled when we tasted our dogs– they were even more delicious than last year & indeed some of the best veggie dogs we have ever had. David & all the folks at DC-3 were utterly delightful & the veggie dogs & fries were absolutely delectable. Big ups to DC-3for offering the veggie dogs, but even moreso for doing so in such a wonderful & welcoming fashion. Kudos to David & his crew– they should be recognized & indeed celebrated for their excellent, friendly & downright familial service & fantastic, oh-so-yummy foods.

$ 5 for a single hotdog seems expensive, but it’s under $ 9 for a combo(fries/chips and a drink), and additional dogs are only $ 3.50. You can’t really complain about those prices in DC. The shoestring fries looked fresh(not like frozen McD fries), and the hot dog was very plump. I had a West Virginia dog, and liked everything about it. The restaurant is clean, the employees are friendly, and the airplane décor really adds character. If you’re in the Eastern Market area, you can’t go wrong with DC-3.

This place has some really awesome all-beef hotdogs. They are a little pricey at $ 5 each but the combo with French fries and a soda for $ 8 is a bargain and a great lunch option. The hot dogs come with a wide array of choices of which you can add as many as you’d like. I added chili, cheese and sautéed onions to mine and it was great. The French fries are really good too: light and not too salty. For those of you(including myself) who normally don’t get hotdogs outside of a baseball game or a home BBQ, this is definitely a solid option for grabbing some!

So my fav. hot dog is the Chicago Dog, until I had the Korean Dog at DC-3. The Korean Dog has marinated Beef Bulgogi with Kimchi. I thought I fell in love and went to heaven! To give this place some credit, the have this California Dog that is vegetarian(falafel balls)
