Came here with a friend for restaurant week and I must say that the food was delish! I was extremely happy to find out that the entire menu was included where other location give you only a few selections. I started off with the Calamari and he got a Caesar salad. For the main entrée he got the«simple and healthy» rainbow trout which came with double broccoli. I ordered the pumpkin seed crusted salmon. For dessert, I got the ricotta cake with cranberry white chocolate ice cream(YUM) and he got the cheesecake. We were really satisfied with the ambiance, the food and service. We will def be back in the near future.

Just got served really stale, visibly limp spinach for a spinach salad. Reaction«oh the chef is so sorry». That’s it. Seriously? I’m sorry too — also never coming back.

Chef Geoff’s food is mediocre at best. The trout I had was pretty tasteless, but the romesco sauce they used was very flavorful. I just felt the romesco didn’t really saturate its flavor into the mildly warm trout. On top of that, the bread I got was somewhat dry and inadequately warmed. However, for the price you pay, you do get a decent portion of food. Service is a little on the fast side, but it isn’t spectacular or anything.

Happy hour review. I came here with dilated eyes from an eye exam and decided to have drink and some food while I waited to be able to see again. Friendly bartender and the bar was fairly packed by 4:30 or so. I went with a supermug of beer, which for $ 8.95, you can’t beat, and there’s plenty of options. To eat, I got the crispy plantains with guacamole and a straight up(cheese) pizza. The plantain dish was good and decently sized. As usual, I love the pizza from this group, and this one was great – plenty of cheese and crisp crust. Chef Geoff’s has a great happy hour menu and I’d return if in the area.

I came for brunch with some friends and had the Avocado Toast. I really enjoyed the first half of my toast; the first egg was perfectly runny, and the turkey bacon and tomatoes were balanced. My second egg, however, was overcooked, which ruined the perfect balance that I had enjoyed before. Overall, though, I was satisfied. Will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu!

I went to Chef Geoff’s last week at 930pm. They close at 10pm. I was so worried the kitchen would be closed and I wouldn’t get a meal. I had a taste for a steak. Though I never really venture out of a traditional steak house for steak, I decided to give it a go. I ordered the Steak Frites and a side of Caesar fries. ITWASAWESOME! I totally loved it and I’ve been craving it every day since then. I’m going back for brunch soon. I hope it is as good as the Steak Frites experience. Yay for better experiences at Chef Geoff’s!!!

Good food, great atmosphere, good service. Had the kale salad with tuna and it was cooked perfectly!

I have been going to Chef Geoffrey for years and have NEVER had a bad meal. Some of my favorite dishes include the calamari(which can also be added to a salad), the fried zucchini, any of the pizzas, the steak frites, the shrimp and grits, the wild mushroom ravioli, and the ack bean burgers. I also highly recommend visiting for the daily happy hour(which is all day on Mondays and Tuesdays). There is a great beer selection and cheap eats.

Went for brunch. Menu had changed for the worse and options weren’t very varied or interesting. They’d stopped making some of their traditional dishes that I’ve come to love over the years of living in the area. My actual meal was pretty awful. I got the scrambled eggs which were rubbery and tasteless. Service is pretty poor. The two servers we had seemed like they didn’t really care to make the experience any good. Water and ice tea one unfilled for the duration of the meal, though the restaurant wasn’t full and they were standing around talking to each other. Also, outdoor chairs were super uncomfortable.

Great patio that opens onto a wider courtyard, so it’s a great spot to dine with restless littles. They can get up and run about while you finish a leisurely meal. My other two favorite things here: the truffle popcorn is amaze balls. I don’t even like popcorn, and I wanted to grind it up and snort it, it’s that good. Also, the patio has outlets scattered about in the landscaping, which is great if your crappy old iPhone needs a boost.

Great spot to sit on the outdoor patio! The crabcakes are great choice. Also the tex-mex salad is delicious if you want to go for something a little lighter. If you’re a bacon lover — they have some great bacon concoctions to test out!

I was nervous to see so many negative reviews, but dined with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic and our waitress attentive and made some great recommendations. Appreciate a chef who can think on the fly to make dietary accommodations. What I liked: –Roasted Artichoke –French Fries(think fresh cut beach fries) –Dessert(the chef made an amazing combination considering I’d asked for a pairing of the chocolate and sorbet). –Large patio seating area that isn’t too close to a road(it’s a little oasis for the hustle of the city) — Candlelight! I loved all of the real candles. It gave it a romantic feel. What I didn’t like: — Noisy inside(especially near the bar area). The bar never had an open stool. The TV’s(tuned to basketball) contributed to some of the noise. — Crowded! I’m pretty small and I could barely get my chair pushed back without touching the back of the chair behind me. — There seems to be many local and loyal patrons(this is awesome) but a few seemed to have met their limit for alcohol intake.

Chef Geoff’s off New Mexico offers a very unique patio experience with consistent menu items. The Chef Geoff Burger has quickly become my favorite sandwich in DC — it’s just a burger with bacon and cheddar, but it’s done perfectly. And during happy hour, all burgers are half off. Happy hour runs all day Monday and Tuesday, which makes those discount items relevant for those of us who have to work late. I have also had their salmon burger and black bean burgers and they all hit the mark. Otherwise, I highly recommend their mushroom ravioli. The portions are big and it’s a full flavor dish. I don’t think this place can disappoint at all.

Came here after a performance at American University. Parking was ample. Make sure you go up the ramp and not in the garage! Got some drinks, which ranged from $ 8 – 10. I also had a ginger lime soda, which was fairly flat and had much more higher than like for my tastes. The apps we shared included popcorn(good, not served hot, $ 5), sweet potato fries(nicely salted, $ 5), and sweet Thai chili calamari($ 13), which were awful. The calamari were over cooked to the point where they were crispy and rubbery, and over seasoned – they were covered in more powder than a cheez doodle. The quality of the apps we had, at those price points, were extremely underwhelming. Also, while I can appreciate that one of our party members was indecisive and that the kitchen was scheduled to close in 20 minutes, I was not thrilled with the service, especially considering that the place was pretty empty.

I’ve been here several times now and have never been disappointed. Here’s what I’ve tried so far: Breakfast Pizza: The sriracha mayo definitely made this. I asked the waiter what he likes the best out of the savory breakfast dishes and he said I had to get the pizza. The bechamel, smoked gouda, chicken sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, and avocado was a great combination, but the sriracha mayo really makes it. Salmon Burger: I ordered this because my friends have been raving about it. I was a bit skeptical at first but I’m so glad I did. Hands down, best salmon burger I’ve ever had. Lamb Kebabs: Omg! Cooked to perfection :) It wasn’t too red and just melted in my mouth. The Tzatziki sauce complimented the kebabs really well too! Side of Very Gouda Grits — not bad. Not the best grits I’ve had but it’s still quite tasty. They have a dish called Big Shrimp and Very Gouda Grits but a side of it was enough for me. To my disappointment, the Gouda wasn’t very strong. Free bread! — Like many restaurants, CG has complimentary bread as you browse their menu. What makes it unique? They put sugar in their butter ANDIT’S SOGOOD. Can’t wait to return again :)

Monday & Tuesday means Happy Hour alllllllllllllllllllll day! My belly was so very happy because, Tuesday was a snow day. I was housesitting for a friend in DC. I was feeling captive and just needed to get out. Thank god Chef Geoff’s was in walking distance. Jam packed! Seemed like everyone had the same idea as me. I ordered a burger, fries, and 3 glasses of wine. All tasty, all regular bar food. All consumed with love because Wednesday was the start of the Lenten Season and I gave up meat, wine, cheese, and coffee for lent. Great service. Friendly bartenders. The next time I’m on that side of time, you’ll see my face.

Yummy Food! This place is excellent. To be fair I’ve only been here once. I had a burger and fries, and it was honestly one of the best burgers ever. My friends food looked delicious. I know quality when I see it and I saw it. I was also able to try their calamari, it was perfect. I added some extra lemon and was in heaven. The ambience was nice. The inside was spacious but tends to get packed quick. This place did get really packed! I guess everyone got news of the delicious burgers. Chef Geoff I will be back!

Surprisingly good– ordered the rabbit egg rolls which were delicious! The service was nice but slightly slow — the restaurant was really cold so that definitely factored into my overall mood… until my main dish arrived! I ordered the trout with celery root purée and a pomegranate butter sauce. Amazing! Crispy skin on delicately cooked trout, perfectly cooked greens. Delicious! My husband ordered the sweet potato pizza and said it was delicious!

I had a very strange experience at this location and the staff were really super so this rating is more about the food than the service. I ordered a chicken pasta dish that was really pretty to look at but wasn’t very tasty. Actually now that I think of it this was the second pasta dish I ordered. The first was so spicy that I couldn’t even eat it. Mind you, I like spice. My family is from Louisiana and while I was down south I was adding Tabasco to my already spicy dishes. So the first dish I ordered was just not well seasoned and I sent it back. The second wasn’t spicy but it wasn’t what I was expecting. I ate as much as I could and took the rest with me to bring for lunch the next day. It was a bit more tolerable the next day but not a favorite. This establishment has yet to win me over. I really wanted to like them, but so far it isn’t working out.

I have no idea why the ratings here are so low. I’m the biggest food snob I know and I can’t get enough of this place! Everything is delicious. The staff is great and very friendly. I go there so much that the bartenders remember me. I think it’s ridiculous to spend more than $ 15 on a salad but I’ll spend $ 20 for a Chef Geoff salad any day. I highly recommend the Cadillac Caesar with the SWEET calamari(not on menu so ask!). The salads are large and filling and mouth wateringly delicious. I have gotten all my friends hooked on this salad. They also give you bread and the most delicious honey butter. YUM. Nothing beats Chef Geoff’s Happy Hour burgers. The Bistro Burger is amazing and for $ 5.95 a huge steal considering that McDonalds Big Mac meals cost more. I’m also a huge fan of ALL of Chef Geoff’s appetizers and desserts. Definitely give this place a try. You won’t regret it.
