The Corner Bakery never fails me. If you’ve never eaten here, it’s a cross between Panera and McAlister’s. I love their spinach crisp salad. They give a hearty portion for a salad. The salad is supposed to come with strawberries but they were omitted because they aren’t in season. I love and appreciate restaurants that use seasonal ingredients. I usually make one trip to the Corner Bakery for a hearty and not expensive meal every time I’m in the DMV.

Wow! I walked a few blocks to this location for lunch. When I got up to the counter, I realized that I had forgotten my wallet at the office. I let the folks know(before I ordered) that I had forgotten my wallet, said«Thanks» and started walking toward the door. The manager called out«Sir, Sir! Lunch is on us!» Wow, that has never happened to me before. I asked for a receipt and promised to come back and pay multiple times, but the manager politely declined with a smile! The food was great too! I had a Kale Caesar Chicken salad which was quite large and delicious, and well worth the money(that I would have spent, anyway). Thanks generous folks at Corner Bakery — I will be back(with my wallet) soon!

Stopped in for my usual order at lunch today. Usually service is great and the food is even better. Today was different. The staff was more interested in hugging each other and hanging out. The food took much longer than expected to be ready(several people who ordered after me had their meals first). The food was thrown together and just was not as good as it usually is. Very disappointed.

I go to this Corner Bakery to get baked goods to add a little joy to group meetings. The manager never fails to make sure that everything is top-notch. Restaurant owners and others in the service industry should shadow him to see how it’s done well. My thanks to him and his staff!

General Manager Teddy Ferguson is absolutely the best. He greeted me and other customers immediately and was incredibly gracious. He brought out our food and my friend had ordered a large soup but got a cup and Teddy ensured with impeccable timing that as soon as she was done with her cup, he brought out another. This is the type of customer service that should be repeated everywhere. Thank you Teddy!!! Oh and food was great.

Wonderful breakfast. It was delicious and hot. Pancakes were so good and perfect cooked bacon. Service was quick but not rushed. The staff were so nice and kind. They were so accommodating with my kids. I would definitely go back. Fair prices too.

Freundlicher Service, gutes Essen(Buttermilk Pancakes und Blueberrybagel mit Creamcheese). Man kann hier auch gemütlich frühstücken bevor man die Stadt erkundet. Immer wieder gerne

Not the worst but far from good. I ordered a sandwich here and it took 20 minutes. I’ve since decided to save time and go to the Pret across the street. Now that &Pizza is on the same block I can’t imagine ever coming back to this Corner Bakery. The line is always super long(can’t imagine why) and the food is often subpar. The soups also taste like they’re straight out of the can. The kicker: this location doesn’t even stay open long enough for an afternoon snack.

After speaking with the GM and explaining the situation and disappoint with the service, he did issue a full refund. That same day, the GM arrived to my office and brought a huge bakery basket as a show of apology. He gave me his info and told me to call him directly in the event that I need anything else or in the future. He also explained that his regular catering manager was on maternity leave and said it was no excuse and apologized again.

Great service and pretty quick with getting food out. The manager and the cashiers are both very nice and help you get what you want. Plus breakfast is bomb at all Corner Bakeries! Keep doing what you’re doing.

The manager here Mr Ferguson truly went out of his way to make sure that I and my gluten free companion were pleased with our meal and the service. He even gave us 6 gluten free breads to take with us, gratis! The coffee is great and you get free refills. Good quality food at a good price.

Great for a quick breakfast. They have a pretty good variety of food and you can’t beat the price especially if you are in a hotel in the area. Great service as well!

I was craving grilled cheese and tomato soup and Corner Bakery delivered deliciousness, I’m a little surprised. I’m feeling under the weather so I wanted soup and a simple sandwich. Corner Bakery doesn’t have a grille cheese per se, but a smoked ham & cheese panini fit the bill. I got it in a combo with the basil tomato bisque and it was easily one of the best meals I have had this week. The bisque is chunky, a little sweet, and nicely acidic. It was perfect for dunking my panini. It’s so nice to know that I have a dependable comforting meal so close at hand.

This is usually a fav of mine. Had the DC Chicken Salad sandwich yesterday for lunch. Bad tummy-ache afterward. Might want to ensure that the chicken is fresh. Despite this a very nice older lady carried my tray to my table and insisted on it. Thumbs up on service. Thumbs down on the chicken salad sandwich.

My coworker and I came here for breakfast this morning at around 9:45. When we got there, there were about 15 people behind the counter and in the kitchen. There weren’t very many people waiting for food or waiting to order. My coworker ordered oatmeal and coffee, and I got a breakfast sandwich and coffee. We waited… and waited… and waited! At least 15 minutes! There was no one else in line! And, it looked like the manager was there, so I’m not sure what he was doing — maybe training 15 new people at one time? They finally called my order, but never hers, and she ordered her oatmeal before me. I mean really — we know all they had to do was scoop the oatmeal out of some big container and put the two toppings on it. When she asked the cashier if they had forgotten about her and her oatmeal, instead of saying: Oh, I’m so sorry! He literally turned around, told someone to make her oatmeal, and handed it to her. I’d expect service like that during the early morning breakfast rush, but that was pretty bad. My sandwich was OK, but not enough to make me go back.

Unfortunately I think the quality of their breakfast service has deteriorated lately. Not sure if they have new staff, but I have noticed a definite difference. For example, last week I ordered a ham and swiss breakfast panini and instead I received some sort of avocado bacon panini(which I discovered upon returning to my office, so I didn’t want to go back out to return it). This morning they were out of swiss cheese! I headed over to Pret across the street. Some of the sandwiches here are good, like the one with pretzel bread and the DC chicken salad(as long as the bread isn’t stale). I think they will start to lose more lunch business with the Potbelly on the next block. They need to get it together here and make accurate orders.

The name says it all! The bread and butter of Corner Bakery are their pastries. The cookies and cream whoopie pie is delicious! The perfect dessert after hitting up the food trucks. As for the sandwiches, I tried the California Grille on Harvest Bread, which is a veggie panini. The sandwich was oily and greasy, just like the chips. I also tried the Avocado & Spinach Power Panini Thin breakfast sandwich, which made me feel heavy and bloated. Maybe the 3rd time with another sandwich is a charm? I don’t think so, I’m going to just stick with the whoopie pie.

I took a walk for lunch on Thursday, since the weather was so nice, and decided to finally give this place a shot. I took advantage of the $ 7.99 half and half special, and ordered the half«uptown» turkey sandwich(they had me at fresh avocado), and a half order of loaded baked potato soup. The staff were friendly, the inside of the store clean, and my order prepared quickly. Plenty of people were working while eating, so I’m assuming they have wifi. I was reminded of a Panera Bread Company. When I got back to my desk, i was pleasantly surprised to see my meal came with chips. so, that’s a half sandwich, soup, and chips for $ 7.99. While the soup was very cheesy, it didn’t really have any stand out flavor profiles. The sandwich was fresh, and I really liked the bread. They didn’t skimp on the meat either. The soup and sandwich were very filling, and I couldn’t finish the soup, and saved the chips for later. All in all, this is a solid quick lunch spot, with even better prices. The bakery had tons of options that I will be sure to remover the next time I don’t eat breakfast before leaving for work.

I had a deliciously comforting lunch here today. They have a lunch special where you can order half of any sandwich and your choice of a salad or soup for $ 7.99. I ordered half of the Uptown Turkey sandwich on toasted multi-grain bread with turkey. bacon, avocado, tomato and mayo with a side of chicken noodle soup. («Chicken noodle soup, chicken noodle soup, chicken noodle soup with a soda on the side» for all you hoodrats out out there!) The sandwich was outstanding and rather filling. The chicken noodle soup was rather bland with large, egg noodle-type noodles and a few small pieces of chicken. The special was served with a small portion of kettle-cooked potato chips and a pickle spear that was pretty damn good! They also have plenty of ice tea brews to pick from and their fountain soda selection even included Fresca. You don’t see that often! The free wifi was great as well, but I was bummed out when I realized this location closes at 4pm. Why on earth they would close this early at such a prime location, I have no idea. However, the location was clean, not overly crowded with some pretty simple and solid dining options. A nice, convenient fix if you need a quick breakfast, lunch or cup of coffee. Oh and they are selling pumpkin spice whoopee pies there for anyone feinding for their seasonal pumpkin fix.
