Best crêpe I’ve ever had. The strawberry and nutella is to die for. I drive from Alexandria and suffer with the parking just for them.

Quick update(and my 3rd review of the place) — Crepes-a-Go-Go as we know it is now CLOSED and has moved to 14th and K NW, near McPherson Square. Apparently business was getting very slow, so the owner re-located to a part of the city with better Metro access(orange and blue) as well as better parking(parking in Dupont is HELL). It has«moved» to Point Chaud on 14th Street.

Looked for a dessert place after dinner and found this small place! We walked in an it was pretty empty at 10pm on a Saturday night, but regardless, we ordered and waited for about 5 minutes for our crepes to arrive. I even asked to have mine crispier than usual and they were will to do so! I’m a huge fan of Nutella, but I definitely wasn’t paying attention to the menu. $ 7 for a Nutella + Banana + Strawberry crêpe is pretty expensive… and because the crêpe is already so sweet, the strawberries were pretty sour. Next time, will definitely try the Nutella + Banana + Coconut. The presentation was excellent(see photo) and I was actually really surprised by how nicely it was made. The cheaper alternative for us is always froyo, but then again, it’s December and freezing. – PHOTO:

Having visited Crepes a Go-Go in Gaithersburg, and liking it, I decided to try the Dupont location when I needed breakfast recently. At around $ 7, this is not the cheapest breakfast, but it is a nice departure from the Starbucks/Panera/Le Pain Quotidien offerings, and the crepes are decent sized. I had the cheddar, tomato, and avocado crêpe. The pancake is thicker than I like, as I have become accustomed to the Eastern Market Crêpe style. There was a lot of avocado — too much for me. Overall, the crêpe was OK. I have also had a strawberry Nutella crêpe, which was only OK. It was not warm enough, and there was too much Nutella. While I would not go back for the crepes, I would try the gelato, and they use Illy coffee, which is great, so I don’t have to go to Starbucks anymore.

I love this place. I have a weekly appointment in the neighborhood and stop here for a crêpe and coffee nearly every time. The crepes are decent, maybe more of a 3-star than 4, but there’s something about this place that I just ENJOY. Between the Illy coffee, the French music, the broad mix of clientele, the friendly-but-not-overly-so staff, the whole experience feels like a step out of the ordinary. The summary marks Crepes a Go Go as «kid friendly» — I would say … yes and no. Yes, in the sense that kids feel welcome as part of that«broad mix of clientele.» I have taken my toddler there and seen babies on several other occasions. But be warned: there are NO high chairs(made for a stressful meal when my daughter was an active infant!) and no changing table.

At first, I was overwhelmed by the amount of options this restaurant offered. It took me a full awkward 10 minutes to decide what I wanted as the cashier lady waited. I finally decided on the Feta(feta cheese, artichoke heart, spinach, among other things). My friend ordered the Sauteed chicken and we shared a kiwi strawberry honey dessert crêpe. I enjoyed my feta crêpe. It’s difficult to feel healthy while eating a crêpe but I was basically eating a salad with whole wheat bread right? Or at least that’s what I told myself. I also had a taste of my friend’s chicken crêpe which was also tasty. I liked that a bit better since the cheese was melted and made the crêpe warm and gooey. With the kiwi strawberry crêpe, they gave us more than enough fruit which made us really pleased. As college students, we don’t get enough kiwi/strawberry in our dining hall… However, I wasn’t too impressed with the fruit/honey combo. Guess I’m more of a nutella girl. I’m not a fan of the interior décor though. One reviewer said it made him/her feel as if she were in Paris and I can’t see why. The inside was quite bland and I think they could have done a lot more with the place to make it aesthetic pleasing.

The wife and I just celebrated our first wedding anniversary; it was a wonderful weekend of eating and relaxing, capped by brunch at Crepes-a-go-go in Dupont. I think it’s safe to say that we’ll make going there a tradition! As we usually do, both of us order two vastly-different items, in order to give us both a good feel for whatever establishment we’re at. I was in the mood for a savory crêpe — so I chose the California Brunch Special: sliced turkey, eggs, cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, and… avocado.(I think you can make anything«California» by adding avocado.) It was salty, sweet, and deliciously fresh. My only complaint would be that it wasn’t as homogeneous as I would have liked; i.e. one bite was a mouthful of turkey, another bite was a mouthful of avocado and egg. Then again, I’m picky about that sort of thing. My wife had a chocolate, banana, and strawberry crêpe — it was sweet and packed with sugary goodness. Again, not as homogeneously mixed as I would have preferred, but it was still delicious. The lattes we ordered also hit the spot. For the two of us, it was around $ 21 and we both left feeling quite full. We’ll definitely go back.

Awesome find thanks to the other Unilocalers. I was checking out places near our hotel and came across this one. I am so glad we went! I love crepes, but I don’t think I’ve ever had a «real» one — you know I’ve had the mass-food kind and they’ve always been delish, but I don’t think I can ever go back to mass-food crepes again. Can I hire a crêpe guy to come make me crepes at home?! We stopped in on a Friday around lunch time. No crowd at all. 2 ladies in line in front of us, and another came in after we got our orders. They were all doing take-out. There was another table with a couple of people that I noticed were enjoying multi-course crepes(what a great idea!). They had some kind of lunch flavor and then desserts… mmmm… My husband and I both opted for one of the daily specials. His was ham, egg, & cheese and I had the white chocolate with fresh blueberries. Both were amazing. I wish we had another day to go back again for another flavor. Mine was delicious — but super-duper sweet(I like ‘em sweet!). The crunch of the fresh berries were a great contrast to the sweet white chocolate sauce. I had a bit of the ham, egg, & cheese crêpe too. Yummy! I will definitely be back to this crêpe place at some point. It’s so good.

I have always liked this place — the crepes are good, and the hot chocolatella(nutella hot chocolate) is amazing! I have also always been very happy with the service and feel that the place has more character than the nearby Crepeaway. However, the last time I was there, I was disturbed by a hygene-related incident. I was chatting at a table with a friend when a woman entered the store carrying a medium sized-dog(read: really too large to carry, would not have fit in a purse) that was barking loudly. The woman asked the gentleman behind the counter if she could bring her still barking dog inside and he said yes. The woman entered with her family and energetic dog they all sat down. Including the dog, which sat first on a bench, and then on a chair, which gave it a great vantage point from which to rub its head on and lick the tops of several dining tables. After that, it got bored and its owner allowed it to roam around the floor, rubbing itself on things. The staff present not only allowed the dog into the dining area, they did not ask its owner to keep it quiet, control it, or prevent it from licking multiple dining surfaces. The food is good. I hope their kitchen is cleaner than their dining room. Will I go back? Probably, but I’ll be getting carry-out.

Let me begin by saying that there is nothing I enjoy more than a nice crispy crêpe filled with sweet or savory goodness on a Sunday afternoon. Now, let’s get to the review: Crepes a go go is going to be by go to crepes place from now on. Its a small place with limited seating, especially in the winter when you can’t populate the patio. But the place has a nice cozy feel. The service is quite good(especially compared withe crepes amour in gtown) and the Illy coffee is excellent. My husband had the hot chocolate and that was also quite good. I had the brunch special. it was excellent. Great flavor. creative. yummy! We followed with the King Samm sweet crêpe which has neutella, bananas and coconut. Excellent. The best part is that it is not expensive to eat here. I can’t wait for next Sunday!

Cheap, tasty, and kind of a novelty food. It’s great for breakfast or lunch and since it’s open until midnight on the weekends it’s a good place for desert as well. They fill the crepes with everything from meat to fruit and chocolate. Nothing too fancy inside, but you wouldn’t want it to be for a quick meal. It is small inside so don’t expect to come in with a huge group.

I ate at this place 2 or 3 times while visiting DC. The service was friendly and my crepes were very good. At first I tried a strawberry one, but found that pretty dry. Later I switched to strawberry & nutella — what a combination! Thats the one I would recommend.

I love this place! The crepes are DELISH and the prices are really good for what you get. I stopped at the kiosk store in Chinatown, where you walk up and order, watch your crêpe being made, and walk off with a piping hot handful of yum. I loved the chicken pesto crêpe, and my fiancé was extremely happy with the breakfast crêpe he got. One thing we tried which I do not recommend is the chestnut/banana crêpe. We should have gone with the tried-and-true Nutella. But the good news is, there’s always next time! We’ll be back!

The crepes that my friend John and I ordered here were pretty delicious! He ordered the nutella and banana crêpe. I ordered the strawberry, kiwi, and honey. Both were dusted with powdered sugar and had whipped cream on the side(John loved the whipped cream — I’ve never liked it so obvi I can’t comment on that, haha) The place was a little tight. The colors of the walls and the pictures though made up for that. I thought the overall service was okay. It was quick — which is always a bonus! At one point a man from the front was fighting with a man from the back. Kitchen man and register man presumably. That was not really necessary and should not be done in front of customers. Also it was a bit pricey for what it was — a crêpe. I ordered a crêpe and an iced coffee totaling $ 8.50. Thought that was a little much. Overall delicious and filling.

I almost expect to be gauged at every street corner when I’m in Dupont Circle. I mean, isn’t Dupont the French word for«take your money and run»? So Crepes-a-Go-Go is a welcome addition to my Dupont haunts. People make this place out to be super tiny… by San Francisco or NYC standards this is a pretty decent size place. There are at least 6 tables back there… way roomier than what other Unilocalers here are hollering about. $ 5 nutella & banana crêpe, $ 7 grilled chicken/swiss/tomato/pesto crêpe. Both huge and tasty. Let us review: — fast — cheap — totally edible Good enough for me.

Stopped in here one night, really small or should I say cozy. I never really ordered a crêpe before, so I just told him what I wanted. strawberries, nutella and whip crème. Tasted really good, cost me about 7 bucks.(Are they normally that expensive?) Outback was cute, lights were strung up above the tables practicly bouncing off the sky and candles lit up the atmosphere. really cute good service, great crepes. Ive been craving for them ever since.

*3.5 stars* Wow, this place is tiny. I’m not particularly claustrophobic, but I took one look at the tables squeezed into the back, and I knew we had to sit outside. Luckily, they do have 4 small tables outside. My crêpe — with strawberries and a nice amount of whipped cream — was good. Service was friendly.

Finally a creperie that actually makes edible crepes. Having once worked at the Snap, a Georgetown creperie(see ), I know first-hand about the business of running bad restaurants. First, always be on the lookout for poor hygienic practices. Is everything stored on wooden or stainless steel shelves? One material is more prone to breeding germs and bacterium, guess which one. Also, how does the restaurant store its ready-to-serve ingredients in the refrigerator? No food should ever be sitting underneath the counter at room temperature, even caramelized onions. Fortunately, Crepes A-Go-Go passes the rudimentary food safety inspection with flying colors(the same could not be said for Snap). Second, the crepes should always be made-to-order. If you see a stack of pre-made crepes, just walk around and out the door. You have no idea how long those crepes have been sitting around and I guarantee that anything near the bottom of the stack was made first thing in the morning; perhaps even yesterday morning. Fortunately, Crepes A-Go-Go makes everything while you are waiting. In fact, they even bring it to you on porcelain plates as opposed to paper plates. Remember, a good crêpe is defined crêpe(thin pancake) itself. That being said, a creperie should never skimp on the filling either. The third thing to look for is how much filling the restaurant adds and whether they charge extra for garnishes(e.g. whipped cream). Nobody likes a stingy restaurateur. Among the restaurants that make crepes around the District, Crepes A-Go-Go is definitely one of the better creperies. [Original Visit: December 31, 2008]

NOT A PLACEYOUWANTTOGO-GO-GO! ARGHHHHHH — a beautiful Saturday — gorgeous weather… a better day for crepes in the morning there could not be. We even found the perfect parking spot! Hurrah! Seats outside were occupied. No problem. Plenty of seats(actually there are 6 small round tables but it was only 9.30am) so inside we sat. Order we did and waited for our crepes serve to us be. Delicious they be — NAH! Crepes came looking strange they did… hmmmm … color a bit off, no matter — problem came when it was tough to cut through. Tough tough tough. GENEROUS(!!!) with the fillings they were… too bad about the crêpe texture sigh. Wah!

I don’t get to try chestnut spread often outside of France and as an ex-addict to Nutella, this is great option for me to stay away from Nutella:) Crêpe seems to be simple to make and to enjoy but I don’t get this chance as often as I wish. I love this small creperie. No need to go to fancy creperies when I can enjoy one awesome yummi crêpe with loads of toppings to choose from. When you go CaGG, try something you haven’t, like ricotta cheese with berries, chestnut spead or just brown sugar with butter. You will have nice surprise and this might make your day:)
