Just stumbled into this place. Looked like a hole-the-wall but sure proved otherwise. The crepes were absolutely delicious and the coffee was great. Clean restrooms say it all!

I wanted to dislike this place soley because the server only seemed polite to men but the dulce de leche crêpe was delicious. The crêpe was thin, filled well, and tasty. I may have to get over the cashiers bad attitude.

I came here for a crêpe craving. Wrong place. The filling was lacking, all I got was a simple Nutella crêpe. The crêpe itself was lukewarm. Go elsewhere for a good crêpe.

I went to Point Chaud last weekend for breakfast. It was a nice day, so there was no outdoor seating. There was one table that patrons had left by the time that we arrived, though nobody cleared the table; so we decided to sit indoors. It’s definitely a small space, so I can imagine that it’s difficult to get a seat when they are really busy. I ordered a crêpe with chocolate, raspberries, and strawberries. My wife ordered something similar with nutella. We both noted that they didn’t smother the crêpe with chocolate/nutella as we have experienced elsewhere. My crêpe had the right balance of fruit and chocolate. They were also served with some powdered sugar and whipped cream. On the negative side, we both noted that our crepes seemed a bit overcooked– they weren’t as soft and fluffy as we would like. We got there at the right time, so we were able to place our order and get seated pretty quickly. A long line did form after us though, and some folks had to wait at least 15 minutes to place their order. They seem to be understaffed.

I was so disappointed when this restaurant opened. If you are looking for lots of whipped cream and sugar, then it is fine. But for authentic crepes? A huge disappointment. It seems that they put the fillings on the crêpe once the crêpe is basically done cooking, so the fillings don’t cook at all. Instead of cooking an egg on the crêpe, they microwave the egg and then put it onto the crêpe. First, the egg does not taste good because it is microwaved. But second, you lose the fabulous egg yolk running through the crêpe.

Loved coming here for a crêpe any time of day. The food was good and the service was pretty fast and it wasn’t as crowded as other places. We had just standard ham and cheese and they were big and pretty good. It wasn’t Paris but it wasn’t expensive and it was kinda romantic in a trendy lala way. After we walked around the hood which seemed to be up and coming. I’ll be coming back to PC Crepes.

I went to Point Chaud this weekend for breakfast with my roommate. After browsing the exhaustive menu(there are 54 crepes offered, and I’m sure you can customize further), I decided on the cheddar cheese and fresh apples crêpe, and she got the raspberries and bananas crêpe. The food came super fast after we ordered it, which was nice, but I would have waited a few extra minutes for some extra food preparation effort. While the fruit crêpe had powdered sugar sprinkled over it and a dollop of whipped cream to the side, my «savory» crêpe appeared to be just plopped on a plate. Not very appetizing. However, the food was enjoyable, and the outdoor seating is charming. I will come here again because of the convenience, the service, and the many, many options.

«Clink clink» That was the sound of my fork tapping my King SAMM crêpe(bananas, nutella, almond powder, and topped with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle). When I order a crêpe, I picture a soft, pillowy, thin pancake. Unfortunately I got a crêpe that was so hard that when I tapped it, it made a noise. At $ 7, I feel this is overpriced for a crêpe that was underwhelming.

If you have not perfected the art of making crepes like myself, look no further, point chaud café is here. Plenty of selection ranging from 5 – 10 $ depending on filling. I went with the standard chocolate & banana sweet crêpe, and grilled chicken crêpe(which was a little dry, would try another savory one next time). Extensive selection of sweet and savories. Seating is limited, but if you find one, there are plenty of outlets to use. Service was great, experience was pleasant!

This place has awesome sweet crepes. I’ve had the blueberry ones without chocolate or whipped cream on them, and they weren’t bland or anything. The crêpe dough is nicely soft and a little bit chewy, and I think it’s also vanilla-flavored, which is nice. The ones with chocolate in them are even better, obviously, because of the chocolate. But if you want a crêpe and not feel as guilty, don’t be worried your fruit crêpe will be tasteless or too sour. The savory crepes are not nearly as good. The crêpe dough is a bit grittier and dryer. Maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be and I’m just uneducated, but I much prefer the texture of the sweet crepes. The flavors themselves are also not that great, and a lot of the time, I don’t think go well with each other.

Standard at best. The crêpe itself was weak-sauce, a bit bland, I would have liked a stronger flavor. I had a savory crêpe(turkey, avocado, egg, cheese, tomato) here and some drip coffee. The price was something like 11 bucks, which kinda sucks but it’s right across the street from where I was working and it is something different than the typical AM fare. The service was friendly and polite, no complaints there. Nice people. There are better crepes in DC, try Crêpe Amour in Gtown… oh damn, never-mind, that place is closed and they are now in NOVA somewhere.

My gym just moved to a new location, so now there’s a coffee place on either side of the gym keep me well-caffeinated. Compared to Peregrine, Point Chaud’s coffee tastes better, especially the latte. The lattes I’ve gotten from Peregrine have been too weak for my liking, tasting almost entirely of milk, but Point Chaud’s latte’s strong yet well-balanced. I haven’t had their crepes yet, but some of them do sound oh so tempting. One of these days I will go over for a crêpe with lots of chocolate and completely undo the workout I just did. The boy eats and drinks there pretty regularly and say the crepes are pretty good and reasonably priced. The staff there is really friendly and will remember you after a couple of visits.

My friend lives right around the corner from this place and brought us for breakfast one chilly morning. It is quite small but thankfully it was not too busy so seating was not an issue, had there been two more people in there it would have been tight. I had the smoked turkey, cheese, and egg crêpe and I loved it… my friend and I kept trying to figure out which seasonings they used because it had so much flavor that it couldnt possibly be just a plain crêpe. Still can’t figure it out but either way it was super good and cheap at only $ 5 – 6 per crêpe.

We stumbled upon this establishment looking for some brunch. You can tell this is the real deal from the amount of Europeans that come here. The crepes are pretty large so we decided to try the DC Brunch and the Apple cinnamon. The DC Brunch($ 8.95) comes with Turkey, Cheese, Eggs, Mushrooms, Avocado, Tomatoes. It was quite filling and is made with the freshest ingredients… they don’t skimp on the avocado! The Apple Cinnamon($ 5.45) comes with fresh apples, brown sugar and a sprinkling of cinnamon. It was quite delicious, however the apples come slightly crunchy(b/c they are fresh!), I think i would have preferred them to be a little softer.

Are my expectations too high? I went to Point Chaud excited to have a slice of Paris inserted into my morning, but left fairly disappointed by both my coffee and crêpe experience. The illy coffee itself was good, but the«cream» available on the counter was not cream at all, but those little capsules of preserved half and half(Mini-Moos, I think they’re called). I feel that any establishment that calls itself a «café» and not a «diner» or a «convenience store» needs to have real milk and cream available. Snobbery? The crêpe itself(and perhaps my mistake was getting whole wheat??) was nothing like the crêpe I was hoping for, and was dense, thick and chewy rather than being crisp, thin and light. I got mine with egg and cheese, and it seems the ingredients at least were fairly fresh, but all I could taste was the doughy crêpe itself. My last gripe(and this may be unreasonable) was the fact that I got the crêpe to go, and they packed it up in tin foil in a plastic take-out container, rather than in a little paper cone as I’d hoped and expected(so I could eat it on the go). I had to find a place to sit and unpack my crêpe rather than eat it like street food, which is to me a big part of the appeal of a crêpe to go! And I am left wondering once again why nobody has thought to open up a good old-fashioned Parisian-style crêpe stand in DC… maybe one day.

I’ve wanted to try Point Chaud ever since I moved into the neighborhood and I finally got the chance to stop in today for lunch. I love the European café atmosphere, but the service behind the counter was a little chaotic. I ordered a spinach and mushroom savory crêpe and a cappuccino. Excuse me while I go ahead and dissect the crêpe: –The crêpe itself was too soft and chewy.(I completely agree with Kat S.‘s review.) –The spinach was very fresh and yummy. –The mushrooms came out of a can. –The cheddar cheese was good and they used the perfect amount so it didn’t overwhelm the other flavors. The cappuccino was too strong to be a cappuccino – it was more of a macchiato. They provide free drinking water, but the container was extremely filthy-looking and the appearance made me weary of drinking the water from it. I left very disappointed. My search for good and true(as in thin and crispy) crêpes in DC continues…

The crepes are good but for illy coffee it was not so good. The coffee was so bland. Not only that but there was no sugar or choice of diary to use. The crepes are has a great texture and they are really good about stuffing the crepes with anything you want.

If you walk inside, it doesn’t feel cozy or cute. but if you actually site down at a table and look at the wall, you might start feeling that it does feel cute and french inside from the seatings and paintings on the wall. Like others said, about 23 kinds of savory crêpe and 50 kinds of sweet crêpe. Price is reasonable too. Most crepes are between $ 4-$ 5.Crêpe was soft-chewy and slightly sweet. Just a few min, your crêpe is ready to be served. I actually didn’t like mine, ricotta and apple because apple was really just a diced apple so it wasn’t sweet as much as I expected. but if you want fresh apple, you might like it.

Point Chaud must have just opened in the last few days or so. Perfect timing for my move to the neighborhood. It has a small coffee shop /bakery feel to it. Not a lot of seats, which could become an issue when they become wildly popular– an inevitability. Service is prompt and friendly. I am not a regular coffee drinker, but the Café Latte was smooth and went really well with my banana and nutella crêpe. There was just enough nutella to enjoy the crêpe, but not so much that it drowned out the bananas or dripped all over me. Crêpe was thick and chewy. Whipped cream tied it all together. Damn good crêpe that I polished off in less than a few minutes. Usual kinks to work out for a new place: knowing how much to charge for everything, giving the right change, etc. I’m sure they will figure it out. Point Chaud has free WIFI. Nice perk. Overall, great addition to Logan Circle.
